  1. Why is that surprising? Especially in a town the size of Pottsboro.
  2. Unserious basketball program then. Should just hire Scott Drew or Ben McCollum at that point.
  3. FWIW Blue was a top 50 or so recruit before getting kicked off/sitting out his senior season.
  4. I hate that the embeds are blocked on my work PC.
  5. Just a FYI regarding the consensus RT replacement:
  6. Unrelated to women's basketball but I can't wait to hear what you have to say in the spring with regards to the two new coaches we will have. You were high on Baker early on based on the feedback you received.
  7. This was an interesting note I just saw in a reply regarding Will Wade.
  8. You have to because Georgia has rapidly replaced Cali as the top 3 producer in college and NFL players.
  9. Thanks, I would have never guessed a coaches kid would be a coach on the field and taking a defensive coordinator job is a step up from safeties coach!
  10. Director of Scouting seems like a new position and not replacement looking at support staff on the Texas website.
  11. Bobby Burton Texas football coaches are back in the office. The coaches, the majority of them, actually returned yesterday morning from vacation. That’s when Tashard Choice told his peers and others in the building he was headed to the NFL. While it caught us off guard, Choice’s move was not entirely surprising. There was some thought he would go to Dallas just a week ago after speaking with the Cowboys. But Dallas’ contract offer didn’t even meet what Choice was making financially with the Longhorns. Detroit came calling. They valued Choice differently. So he’s off to the NFL. ** There’s no easy way to put it. Losing Choice is a definite loss for the Longhorns. He’s not only a good coach, he connects well with players and he brings a vibe to practice and the field that few can replicate. But… I’d caution anyone who wants to overreact to this move. Assistant coaches are often nomadic by profession. Until they become head coaches, they essentially are forced to be. People thought Bo Davis moving on to LSU would be hard to replace. Well, perhaps he was. But Kenny Baker has stepped in just fine. The same can be said for Chris Jackson taking over for Brennan Marion. The big moves that define staffs typically are the offensive and defensive coordinator, not the positional assistants. For that, Texas remains in good hands. Not only with Sark running the offense but with Pete Kwiatkowski operating the defense. In other words, it sucks to see Tashard Choice head off to the NFL. It truly does. But he will be replaced and the Texas offense will march on.
  12. Gerry Hamilton Updating with Ezavier Crowell saying he will not make an OV to Texas after the departure of Tashard Choice. June official visit dates ... The Longhorns have 22 confirmed June official visitors with over 40 expected in the most impactful month of a recruiting cycle. The Longhorns hosted 41 official visitors in June of 2024. 13. Damn it feels good not to be the dumbass of the day! Day is just starting though.
  14. My Top 8 Candidates to Replace Rodney Terry 1. Tommy Lloyd, Arizona 2. TJ Otzelberger, Iowa St - Wife is Iowa St basketball alumni, probably wouldn't happen but you have to attempt. 3. Dusty May, Michigan 4. Ben McCollum, Drake 5. Mick Cronin, UCLA - His yearly rants are pretty fucking annoying but otherwise he's a good coach 6. Grant McCasland, Texas Tech - Due to the Beard thing I don't think Tech would ever allow this to happen and would pony up big money to prevent and as noted above. That is why I have him toward the bottom. 7. Pat Kelsey, Louisville 8. Todd Golden, Florida
  15. If this does happen that would be crazy. Scott Drew good enough for Indiana but not Texas! lol
  16. Texas set their own record of having 14 which beat the previous record set last year(11).
  17. It feels like this team is starting to get their groove and rotation down. Lets continue to build and peak at the right time!
  18. Just imagine if Quinn had more talent around him what could have been?
  19. And we lost him to a season ending eye injury which no one ever said exactly what happened.
  20. This was from Jan 4 after Sark was hired. All the names were original names that were mentioned by 995ers at the time. For some reason Gideon was considered for the TE spot, I think because he was only a S/T coordinator or something.
