Show me, because I never said Tech was an anomaly. Just curious - no big deal.
Tech was an anomaly. Teams in that situation are 11-1800+

Complete lack of leadership and communication breakdown. President and his staff come out with the EoT stays and is our Alma Mater. At the point the band should have been instructed to play it and if any members had a problem with they are free to go. CDC and Coach Herman should have then had a discussion with all players that everyone acknowledges the origins of the song but that it also brings the University together when played for nearly 100 years. Win or lose we will stand with the band and students to show unity, but you don't have to sing if you don't want to. End of story. There will never be a shortage of people who want to be in the Showband of the Southwest or play football for Texas.

People worrying about the 2021 recruiting class crack me up. That shouldn’t be a factor in any of this. If we hire the right coach, the talent will flood here and a 2021 transition class won’t matter.
If Meyer can come on board quickly, then we should absolutely do it, and he could probably save the 2021 class, but it’s not as simple as CDC just going out and hiring him today. There’s a ton of internal roadblocks he’d have to navigate, and who knows if Meyer would even want to start right now.
otherwise, firing Herman now or later won’t matter for recruiting or transfers, because we won’t have a new coach in place until the damage has already been done. Having Ash or whoever as interim coach will be just as bad for recruiting and transfers, if not worse, than leaving Herman in place til November and then bringing on the new coach right after you fire Herman. Whether it’s Herman or having an interim coach for the next few months, we’re going to see a ton of attrition and the 2021 class tank.
Best case scenario we hire urban and only one class is effected. Reality is if we don’t get urban 2022 is going to be a cluster fuck as well. That’s two recruiting classes then and that’s horrible for a program trying to turn the page.

This will not end well. Forming a committee is like going to arbitration. A “compromise” will probably piss off both sides, especially the pro-EOT side. I know I’ll be pissed if any changes are made to our “not racist in any fucking way” tradition.
Tbh we all know it’s going to come down to a money being the factor and it will stay.

We didn’t fire Mackovick during his opposing team tearing down the goalposts tour back in 97 so I doubt Herman will be fired at mid season. I just hope he’s fired the day after the season ends.
This isn’t 1997. 90%+ of recruits are signing mid December, not February.

He should start asap, but only on evaluations and recruiting, nothing involving game coaching.
By the end of this season, he'd know what he's dealing with from a staff and personnel standpoint, and have already impacted 21/22 classes. That's the best case scenario.
Yup agree with this.

Do you think Carrington would stay on?
I think we let Urban decide. Give him full autonomy to retain or release whomever he wants.

Imagine having the audacity to say you need to find an identity in year 4 of your tenure and direct blame to an OC.

It must not be for the football team.
No because the football team has a bitch for a head coach that has no discipline. And his players have that same attitude.

Would you go with Ash for interim HC? If not, who?
I think so granted he was bad at Rutgers but he has experience needed to weather the storm until spring. You also get Urbans opinion on who he would name interim

It should be obvious by now that it's never going back to the way it was.
The goal now should be to find an acceptable solution for both fans and athletes alike.
The acceptable solution is what the volleyball team is doing dipshit.

Your definition of “beat” is a lot different than mine apparently. He has a step sure but defender definitely wasn’t beat.
If you don’t think josh Moore had that defender beat at the break of his route then you don’t know shit. An accurate pass out in front of Moore in stride would at worst be a huge gain down to near the goal line.

Drayton, Ash, and Yurcich probably all stick around. The rest of the guys like Herb Hand, Andre Coleman, Oscar Giles, Mark Hagen, and Hutzler are likely gone.
I think Ash and Drayton will be only guys Urban would consider holding over.

Here is how it should go. You fire Herman and hire urban within a couple of weeks. Tag an interim head coach to finish out the year.
let urban start his recruiting so we can salvage the 2021 class. After season is completed Urban notifies which coaches will be dismissed and if any will be retained.
Urban brings in his guys January or whenever and starts fresh in the spring.

Mehh WR and DB are about even. Our WRs can’t seem to get separation Like literally every other Big 12 team I watch unless the defense has a miscommunication or trips or some bs like that.
He does have a valid point. If you throw that ball accurately the receiver has the initial separation after the break but the throw covers the receiver up. I don’t know if it goes for a touchdown but it’s definitely a catch down near the goal.

Nahlin: Tom Herman: In case you couldn’t tell, Tom Herman is in very hot water. His seat began to warm last year but Chris Del Conte decided to support Herman revitalizing the coaching staff. After a 2-2 start that should be 1-3, Herman has very little chance of saving his tenure. The 25% chance I gave him of keeping his job on Saturday was generous as I worked to find out more. After further discussions I give him much less of a chance. Read between the lines.

So excluding Urban, what coaches should TEXAS consider hiring that "can actually fucking coach and outwork opponents from the X's and O's POV above all things."
Personally, I don't think Campbell or Fleck are right for TEXAS...
Tony Elliott but Texas fans won’t like it.

I feel very confident with these players that there is about to be a locker room revolt/uprising/protest (justified or not) that will force CDCs hand
There will be? My guy that happened after the game Saturday.

done. it's going to take a few days, as i have a flight to Philly in a few hours, and i'll be gone for several days. that said, ive already say down and watched our possessions through the first 16 minutes of the game and i've already seem and recorded several really good, clean pockets for Sam, a play where Sam has all day but holds onto the ball and takes a sack in the red zone, another play where Sam makes a bad throw to an open WR who had beaten his man for a TD, and two more read plays where Sam clearly made the wrong decision with the ball. That's through I think four drives for UT. fair warning, but you might have an existential crisis when the tape irrefutably crumbles your entire world view.
Trash. Get it done today pussy.

If the majority of the team was offended then I’m sure those would be eliminated. Why is this hard to understand?
I don’t think the song is offensive. Exactly zero family members who graduated from UT think it’s offensive. Yet they all see the players point of view. What they think matters the most right now. Deal with it.
Do you still have the Lambo?

at worst 3-7

The players didn’t raise a stink when most stayed after the Tech game to sing it. The players raised a stink after two straight losses.
it’s not about the song anymore.
