  1. I remember a very interesting panel discussion from back when I was a government major. Had a wide array of schools of thought represented, but the two that stood out as cult-like and insipidly stupid were the libertarian who wouldn't admit that for-profit medicine leads to the population at large not being able to afford healthcare, and the communist who claimed that unemployment doesn't exist in communist countries. Ag with kids demonstrates the same degree of grasp of reality.
  2. Throw a 5 yard pass across the middle to Cade fucking Brewer on 3rd and long DJ Monroe wasn't available.
  3. When character in your leaders doesn't matter to you at all, you grow numb to your own shortcomings. This is actually why I wanted Clinton to resign back in the 90s -- character matters. Of course, his sins look cute next to those of Trump, Gaetz, et al.
  4. I'm just astounded that anybody can look at this Texas program and think "You have to give Sark time to get his own recruits on the field." This shitshow ain't gettin' better magically just be giving Clueless McClusterfuck more time.
  5. It was a Nu day yesterday, but it's an old day now.
  6. Yeah, gross overgeneralization and misunderstanding. Not every small town is like the Meth-lenburg communities in Appalachia, but you stop in enough of them, you start to see patterns.
  7. Not entirely. I'd give a pass to Republicans who vote for Cheney or Romney, and a handful of others. I disagree with them about practically everything policy wise, but any conservative who stands up to Trump has my respect.
  8. Because he's a partisan hack. The very thing he accuses anyone who doesn't agree with him of being. Every accusation is a confession in Trumpland; never forget.
  9. Impeachment means the duly elected President committed a crime for which he would be removed from office. Overthrowing an election means ignoring the actual votes and propping up your God-King on the basis of The Big Lie. If you don't see the difference, go see a neurologist as soon as possible. Brain damage is highly likely.
  10. The Republican myth that big cities are somehow struggling mystifies me. Other than Memphis and Detroit, I can't think of another big city I've been to that isn't a better place to live than any of the pestilential shitholes on that map.
  11. All it took for me to reach that conclusion was to see how popular Rush Limbaugh was. It wasn't so much his blatant hypocrisy, or his bald-faced lies, it was his rudeness. You just don't talk about people that way if you are a decent person. Newt Gingrich was the natural result of that moral decay, and his depravity laid the groundwork for Donald Trump, who makes C. Montgomery Burns look like Mother Theresa.
  12. ...except for their politics, with which you fall in jack-booted lockstep.
  13. Cognitive dissonance puts some serious wear and tear on your psyche. I'd have sympathy for the guy if he wasn't enabling treason.
  14. You can't be serious. Countless people have asked countless times, in two different ways: Did Trump lie about election fraud (yes/no)? Or, alternatively, was the election "stolen" (yes/no)?
  15. Stoops won his title with Blake's recruits.
  16. Once upon a time, conservatives opposed the Tennessee Valley Authority as a gubmint boondoggle. Now, it's rural broadband, which ironically would benefit their voting base more than anybody else.
  17. Gastonia is to Charlotte what Conroe is to Houston.
  18. I would love to see somebody make a rainbow stars and bars flag, and then see how many heads implode.
  19. He's not going to answer you, because then he would have to admit the truth: Republicans are now whatever Donald Trump wants them to be. And he wants them to be the party that installs the Trump family as god-emperors.
  20. Oh, no? I guess OU has sucked ever since they fired Howard Schnellenberger after just one season (which was arguably better than this year's Texas shitshow).
  21. I remember that chant. And I remember muttering under my breath "Go, Mackovic, go!"
  22. I don't understand why it's not a given that Sark gets fired after losing six straight. I mean, if he'd gone 7-5, we'd all be disappointed, sure, but you don't fire a guy for that in his first season. But the lack of accountability during this historic shitshow is... something. An equivalent performance at any corporation in the world would get you fired. Why not football coaches? PK's ineptitude is a symptom. Sark is the disease. And the cure is not "give him time."
