  1. That we fired Tom Fucking Herman.
  2. Like I said -- boring, in the best possible way. 20+ carries for Bijan, 200 or so yards from Card (or Thompson if need be), and profit. No MENSA necessary. Just line up and beat 'em.
  3. Prior to last week, my worries about playing at Arky were roughly the same as my worries about playing ULaLa: what if our coaches turtle and don't follow the script? I will now never have that fear again. In the best possible way, I expect to be bored by a team that does exactly what they set out to do. I expect the only drama in this game to be whether Arkansas can generate enough pressure to force Card into a mistake. And given how comfortable he already is with check downs, I further expect the answer to be no. As for the other side of the ball, a chess match between PK and Briles is like playing poker with your neighbor's kids. It would take a seriously unexpected brain fart for Texas' defense not to have a good day.
  4. Crap. Password's not working, and there's no reset feature.
  5. Looch & the crew gonna crowd source a diet cola for the backup long snapper.
  6. From Efland, NC, which rejected a proposed Buc'ee's because who the fuck wants to pay money to an aggy, even just to pee? TEXAS!
  7. I just want to take a moment to express appreciation to Satya for making my own doubts seem tame and sane by comparison. If we follow the gameplan, given the comparative rosters, there's no reason Texas shouldn't win by 10 or more. I expressed fear that, based on Texas being snakebit for the last decade, we might not actually follow the gameplan, or would suffer some outrageous key injury, or for whatever reason would just turtle. Likely? Not really, but compared to Satya's self-loathing, it seems, you know, like a reasonable level of nervousness, as opposed to screaming into the void.
  8. One thing I just don't understand -- I could see, maybe, how someone could be convinced to take an antiviral medication intended for livestock, especially if it were for a cardiopulmonary related viral disease. But a dewormer? How the everloving fuck do you convince anyone with a third grade education that a medicine to eradicate a parasite will do jack squat about a virus? I know a lot of these people are not that bright, but this is even more moronic than what might be expected.
  9. No. Need to hold the Cajuns to under 20. I'd be happy with 27-17. Not expecting offense to go wild, but defense definitely should.
  10. No goat, but I'll slaughter a rooster Saturday morning, just to be sure.
  11. That was talked about but not done. They went with quick and boring instead to salvage the B-CS economy.
  12. My only fear for this game is Sark stepping out of character and trying to force things. And that's only a concern because I'm superstitious and we've been snakebit for a decade.
  13. Maybe not, but a guest columnist in Field & Stream says you can cure 'em with goat suppositories.
  14. Team beard. For my neck, dollar store disposable razors and hand soap, in the shower. Haven't nicked myself in three decades.
  15. This highlights both my hope, and my fear. Sark & co. have track records and words-on-file that suggest we will see a solid game plan backed by intelligent in-game adjustments. This should lead to a lot of comfortable wins. Something about the last decade, though, to give pause. Strong and Herman both seemed to regress over their tenure here. Nothing scientific about worrying that the same thing happens again, but that doesn't stop me from having that nagging doubt, "What if it happens again?" I want to see 200+ yards from Bijan, just to shut up the doubts.
  16. It's probably a side effect of the horse dewormer, right?
  17. So, let me get this straight: if we point out the fact that dead domestic terrorist Ashli Babbitt is a dead domestic terrorist who got what was coming to her as a terrorist, the guy who has been spewing inane verbal vomit on this thread will get upset and leave? Ashli Babbitt is a dead domestic terrorist who got what was coming to her. Signed, a liberal who approves of appropriate use of force.
  18. The talent and coaching is there for this to be the best defense we have fielded in more than a decade. On the flip side of the ball, if Bijan gets more than 20 carries per game, and a reasonable number of catches to go with it, there's not a game on the schedule that can't be won. But a decade of mediocrity teaches caution. I want to see none of the major players self-destruct. Just not committing own-goals would be a major fucking improvement. I swear, every time Sark mentions his sponsor is happier news to my ears than whatever the receivers may have been doing. Just maintain. Just don't screw up. And then the winning will follow.
  19. Modern conservatism is more a mental illness than a political philosophy. I'm wondering how much it will be impeded by the death of so many local conservative talk show hosts -- it has to be a non-zero impact.
  20. Slogans were the best accomplishment of each of the previous two regimes. "Let's ride" has cache, and "OK, cool. Hook 'em" was the perfect response to the tOSU meth head. That neither Strong nor Herman could live up to their winning ad campaigns was just one more facet of their overall failure to perform. As such, I'm refraining from using the gas/brakes slogan until we see some okie tears. Show me some fuckin' okie tears, dammit.
  21. Do you even 2010s Longhorns football, bro?
