  1. Well, the 2-3 regular opponents I'd want Texas to have are largely the ones talked about (OU, pig, and ew, gross, aggy). I'd have zero problem with dropping aggy from that rotation, though I know there's zero chance of that happening. But hell yeah, I'd love to rotate through the remainder as regularly as possible.
  2. Lincoln to Andrew Johnson is the contrast that's bigger, but it was a step down, not up. If Trump hadn't been so mind numbingly awful, Biden's channeling of Truman might not be so newsworthy. I mean, who lists Truman as great? In contrast with Trump, though, the simple act of taking responsibility is a yuuuge fucking deal.
  3. Thank God. Can you imagine how much worse it could have been if he hadn't been stepping on his own fupa all the time?
  4. We'll play aggy, pig and OU every year, no doubt at all about that.
  5. I'm cool with it either way, mostly just pointing out there's no way to know yet what the format will be. Since I live on the East coast, pods would let me travel to more games, so I'm good with that, even if it means the occasional bitch fest from a pod winner who doesn't get in the CCG.
  6. No reason the divisions have to be the same for all sports. I dunno what the logic will be, but picking conference champ game participants has fewer variables with just two divisions. That wouldn't matter as much in basketball or baseball, but in football, it avoids potential headaches.
  7. My assumption is that whichever guy gives us a better shot at winning will start. That doesn't mean the other guy isn't a fit, can't win, or in any way sucks. This is because unlike a great number of fans, I'm medicated.
  8. So, our pets' heads are definitely falling off. This is the hard hitting journalism I live and die for.
  9. Hey guys, anybody know if Sam played better as a Freshman than as a Senior? I'm having a DangerSnax moment and stat sheets look like buckets of live bait to me.
  10. I don't think there's landing spots for any of the Left Behind. Tech and OSU to the PAC would be the only possible exception, but I just don't see how that would excite the Left Coasters. WVU to ACC gets a lot of chatter, but why? How is that a value add? So, my question is, do we stay until the GOR is up? Or do we bite the bullet and pay?
  11. I love being two hours from the beach and two hours from the mountains. I also love having electricity in the middle of winter.
  12. There were zero ways to do this well. Anybody who says otherwise is a dumbass. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Biden said as much to Obama way back when. In fact, as the bro-iest of Bernie Bros, I was prepared to criticize Biden right and left for all manner of things including being beholden to our bloated military. I am genuinely pleased as punch for having underestimated the man. Getting better than expected performance from a president is so novel I don't even have the first clue how to respond, except with a hearty "Thank you" to the man.
  13. Cooper is a kick ass governor. NC hamstrings the gub so much it's not funny, but deft use of executive orders allows him to get by. I figure one more cycle until NC can un-gerrymander. It's going to skip purple and go straight to blue when that happens.
  14. Well, I'm pretty sure dissertations on the eradication of the boll weavil have only limited impact on the poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, excessive tobacco consumption, opioid addictions, and antisocial attitudes that run rampant there.
  15. It has been more than a year since I have had to endure an aggy conversation. Y'all have no idea how pleasant that is for me.
  16. I'm assuming aggy will be the Thanksgiving week game again? The thought of those mouth breathers at DKR always made me nauseous. Hosting pig is hardly any better. On the other hand, Jawja fans seem alright. And Bama fans who travel are better than you'd think, given their demographic. Definitely a home schedule upgrade though, not even debatable.
  17. Having lived just outside Chapel Hill for two years now, I can tell you in terms of culture, Texas' sister school is UNC. But the ACC would be a non-starter, mostly because of distance. Ditto the PAC. As it is, I can travel to SCe, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Kentucky reasonably comfortably, so whatever reservations I have are somewhat tempered. My biggest reservation, in fact, is any kind of association with aggy, but since I don't live in that pestilential hellhole any more, I can stomach it a little better. And it does provide the distinct pleasure of robbing them of their one and only non-bagman related recruiting advantage.
  18. I personally would love that, in the unlikely event that it were actually... you know... true.
  19. I'm reminded by every new headline of the fact that Ted Bundy was once a rising star in the Republican Party.
  20. War is peace. Love is hate. Big Brother loves you.
  21. Bill and Hillary Clinton's first date was crossing a picket line. The only way she could have gotten over the bar is if it was set pretty low, so excuse me if I find your high-handedness misplaced. She's a shitty human being, who happened to be running against the shittiest of human beings. Not much room for moralizing when your choice is "vote for her, or else he'll win."
  22. I certainly get that. On the other hand, marriage is essentially an economic contract between two people. Yes, there is a huge emotional component, but it's the economic principles involved that define the legal approaches to marriage, regardless of sexual orientation.
  23. You get what I mean. I don't find "both siderism" to be anything other than repugnant any time I hear it, and in this context, we're comparing apples to oranges (vile behavior that is perfectly legal, for Hillary, and vile behavior that is clearly criminal, for Trump). So I don't want my complaints to be thought of as "both siderism". But the complaints are real. Taken together with war-mongering, I don't especially care to hear Hillary Clinton's name spoken in polite society. I voted for her because "at least she's not Trump." That seems to me to be the lowest possible bar you could set for someone, though.
