  1. Your reply is makes zero sense. No where in my post did I say politicians never get involved.
  2. Your energies are misdirected. I never said blue blood and the post you responded to was my opinion that all-time-win totals cannot be taken at face value. However, proceed if you must..
  3. Where did I make exclusions for said argument? Take your faux rage and shove it up your ass. My argument applies to any team that wants to tout their "all-time-wins".
  4. I agree with most of what you said. The end result for me (and I am sure for a lot of fans) is that we are now cut out of a lot of away games with this conference change. It's relatively easy to travel within Texas and see our team play road games vs B12 teams. That's not the case moving the to SEC. It has to suck even more for the fans of P12 teams that are moving to the B10 - the travel distances are not fan friendly.
  5. The "all time wins" argument is weak as shit (fuck ohio state). Let's run down some reasons why.. 1. The programs that started early (i.e. Ohio State in the 1890s) would have a better chance of being in the top ten vs 'newer' programs. (i.e. UCF started D1-A in 1996). 2. How many of those all-time wins were against FCS, D2 or G5 teams that were paid to come over and take an ass beating? 3. How many of those all-time wins were against teams with losing records the year they played? 4. How many of those wins came against teams that still exist? Ever heard of Otterbein, Wittenberg, Oberlin, Marietta, Ohio Medical, Muskingum and Kenyon? Those are the teams Ohio St played from the 1890s to late 1920s. I will wrap this up with fuck ohio state and I love big naturals.
  6. What surprises me is that you can't believe it. Politics is a big show. No politician was actually going to be able to block a conference move. Any attempt(s) to do so was purely for show.
  7. I would like to give a big THANK YOU to those Tech graduates out there. If it wasn't for you, I would have to pick up my pizza instead of getting it delivered.
  8. 2004, 2006... that's 17 and 19 years ago respectively, since Cal could compete with the best in the conference. It all centers around this: Cal won't be sniffing a P5 conference championship any time soon.
  9. Granted, 4-6:30pm is a shit time, but otherwise there isn't anything difficult about getting into austin
  10. I recommend that your cousin never call his wife a badger to her face
  11. Their best shot was 2004 when A-aron was playing QB. Problem is they had to play USC, who was in its best run ever (2002-2008). If I recall A-aron got Cal to 1st and goal near the end of the game, but couldn't get it punched in.
  12. I understand 100%. For some reason, when I see or hear 'blueblood', the first thing my mind goes to is college basketball. Not sure why.
  13. I agree a Tech fan has little if any ground to throw darts. Their best conference finishes in the past 12 years are 5th in 2015 and 4th last year, so they have that going for them. As far a peoples faces, I meant that since our last title was nearing 20 years ago I don't often go there with people at the office when we start arguing about football.
  14. My personal endowment (401) has gone up 100% the past few years. I'm sure it's not related to the +$1trillion in money the government printed, but my eye for football.
  15. The only program in the B12 with an inferiority complex is / was TCU. I assume that was largely attributed to the butthurt that TCU held onto since the SWC breakup days. That and having coach phatterson take that butthurt and run with it.
  16. We claim 4 and we have had 2 since 1970. Not exactly something I throw in peoples faces at the office. That and just about anyone can claim a 'chip, especially prior to the BCS era. Hell, Alabama quietly added 5-6 championships to their history in the 1980s and people just kind of laughed at that.
  17. I find your ideals fascinating, can I subscribe to your newsletter?
  18. 75% of D1 coaches would be great with the right assistants
  19. Talk about highs and lows. This guy has seen it all. He got injured and lost his starting position at USC and bounced. Got injured and lost his starting position at Georgia. Entered portal when Bennett announced he was coming back for '22. Starts a half season for a really bad WVU team. Now at Rice.
  20. Anyone that would hire a position coach that is a year removed from high school, to run a P5 program, should have their nuts kicked repeatedly.
  21. I agree. Not sure how else that post could have been interpreted.
  22. Some guys are just better suited as position coaches or coordinators. Mike Singletary comes to mind. He did a good job as LB Coach for the Ravens and I'm sure he would have made an excellent DC if he had ever done that. As far as HC, well... he didn't have the right temperament for that.
