  1. I can't see this GIF without seeing Charlie Strong, Vance Bedford and Wickline...and chuckling.
  2. Mr. Bowlsby, Please provide one example, just one, of these lies that our leaders and top coaches told you. You don't have to identify the source of this lie. Since you spoke to so many people over such an extended period of time, you won't be outing anybody, and you should have numerous examples to share. Just one specific example of a lie would suffice. Otherwise, shut the fuck up, and go fuck yourself, you worthless sack of shit. Thank you. Respectfully, Surly.
  3. It's a long time ago now, but shortly after his death, I remember watching an episode of Tony re-visiting his old haunts in NYC; places he lived, worked, and hang out. I don't know if this was the last complete episode he shot, or just one of the last, but he said something in it that stuck with me. He was visiting with an old friend of his, who was lamenting the fact that all of the old buildings from the neighborhood were being demolished and replaced with shiny new condos. Tony immediately said something along the lines of, "As the owner of one of those condos, am I part of the problem?" I have since wondered if part of Tony's depression stemmed from the belief that he had become that which he spent a large part of his adulthood and professional life despising and ridiculing; a very big, very famous, and very rich celebrity out of touch with common people? I believe he had a genuine love for common people, and it's too bad he couldn't see that so many people felt the same way towards him.
  4. I usually find RJ Young kind of tedious to listen to, as he tends to wander off topic, but occasionally, he makes a good point. Here he takes issue with the notion that Texas and OU are going to find out out it's like to play "real" football once they join the SEC, and he's right...I think those goobers in our new neighborhood have no clue what's about to hit them in the face once we move in.
  5. Isn't John Saunders the guy who was crapping all over Texas all that season, pushing Virginia Tech as more worthy of matching up with USC? They guy's dead now, so I'll refrain from saying, "Fuck that guy."
  6. It is going to be so freakin' LOUD in there.
  7. The answer to life's ultimate question
  8. Hmmm...seems a bit light. You're saying that in no game will he gain more than 139 yards? Last year, he never carried the ball more than 16 times, and went for 172 and 183 in his last two games. If Sark is going to give him the ball between 18-22 times a game, and maybe as many as 30 time a game, I can see Bijan getting much closer to 2K yards this season.
  9. There's a reason not much was going on where you were: From Wiki: "The event took place on Winston Farm, just west of Saugerties, New York, about 100 miles (160 km) north of New York City and 70 miles (110 km) northeast of the original 1969 festival site near Bethel, which had 12,000 on hand to celebrate the silver anniversary.."
  10. I kind of miss Danger Snax...whatever happened to that guy?
  11. They're Nazis, Dude?
  12. Not a fan of the Redskins WFT, but glad to see this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ron-rivera-is-impressed-with-samuel-cosmi-after-first-practice-in-pads/ar-AAMW3x0?ocid=hplocalnews
  13. Paging Mr. Phlem...Mr. Phlem to the white courtesy phone. It has never been the Red River Shootout/Showdown, etc. That name was manufactured by the TV networks to try to hype a game that needs no additional hype. It is the Texas/OU game. That name says it all.
  14. First game as a student, or as a fan? Student - 1979, Rice, first time in DKR, night game, crowd larger than I had ever seen and louder than I had ever heard, and I was in awe of it all. Fan - 1978 @ Rice, my sister, who was a junior at the time, (no pics) got a ticket for me. First memory is of the Longhorn Band entering Rice Stadium, it seemed like it would never end..there were so many of them. Also remember the first time they played Texas Fight, as my high school used the same tune for their fight song, but it never sounded so loud, and impressive as it did at that game. LHB also played it much faster than my high school. Good times.
  15. Absolutely this. The ability to watch every Longhorn home game, with Zeke and Keith calling, more than made up for any other shortcomings of the LHN. I'm going to miss it, especially with the move to the SEC.
  16. Are they tits, or it is ass my dude?
  17. "Fisher has lived this and thrived. He dominated both Florida and Miami while constructing a monster in Tallahassee and I can assure you he's looking at what he's already assembled in Aggieland and not worried in the slightest about playing the Sooners or Longhorns. Neither are his players. In fact, it's the opposite, as the Ags are counting the days until the Big 12 defectors arrive in the SEC." I may be remembering this wrong, but didn't Jimbo inherit a monster in Tallahassee that Bobby Bowden had spent decades building, then coasted on that success for a couple years, before auguring it into the ground before bolting for aggy? Is that about right?
  18. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
  19. https://twitter.com/TerryJennings33/status/1041917746567688193/photo/1 George Jones, backed up by a very young Johnny Winter, Vidor, Texas, 1964.
  20. Hmmm...apparently, being teammates does not mean you are buddies.
  21. "This is what 30 minutes of boot camp tastes like...Come on Peloton!" Yeah, right. Does this idiotic "motivation" actually help one's workout? If I had to listen to that, I'd be inclined to throw my stationary bike through the window.
  22. Sell - Even with the No. 2 QB getting lots of garbage time play, not many passes are thrown during garbage time. Buy or Sell - Texas will have a 1,000 yard WR in 2021.
  23. Had never thought of it, but you're right. Before there was Bevo, there was Pig Bellmont. Good boy, Pig.
