  1. I was wondering what the words to pages ratio was, and googled a sample....That book is a fucking hoss unit. I don't think you could write that many words if you described, with reasonably vivid detail, literally everything I've done in my life. Unreal that there are several volumes of this.
  2. 3,000 hours? I'm hoping that's hyperbole.
  3. Aww...they just need a safe space.
  4. I'm not a progressive. Ain't nothing wrong with smelling your own brand though.
  5. I generally hope for worse for MAGA hat dipshits than getting arrested in Russia, but I'll cop to being cool with it. I'm not really sure what the relevance is of the fact that I care about people unless I know they're pieces of shit.
  6. He probably wouldn't give a shit. I wouldn't exactly be shocked to learn Putin takes the Herschel Walker approach to parenting.
  7. Don't forget they're also the anti-science, anti-public health, and generally anti-intellectual party. But thank god they don't want to help poor people. That's the most important thing.
  8. The Supreme Court could do it. I mean, those states didn't exist at the time of the Constitution's drafting, and apparently that's how we decide what we're keeping and discarding these days.
  9. There are. But if the courts can't enforce the law, there's nothing to stop the leges from sending whatever electors they want. And of course they can just change the law to where the popular vote doesn't matter.
  10. The average citizen being a clueless dumbfuck has played an outsize role as well.
  11. Very unlikely. At least 4 voted to grant cert, and the only reason I can figure anyone would do so is to validate this batshit theory.
  12. Good lord, man. I clearly meant that the state law applies and I have said multiple times that the regulation can be easily changed by BLM. You're talking about conflict of laws principles, I wasn't. Once more: I was only commenting that state law applies under the current regulation. You're def a whole weirdo for still trying to debate this when I already said "controls" wasn't the best word choice.
  13. This is an impressive level of pedantry, sir. You're right, I should have used a word other than controls. I wouldn't call it a disagreement, though; I was clear that the BLM chose to create the regulation despite the property clause and they can just as easily repeal it. The end.
  14. That's correct, BLM makes BLM regulations like the one that extends state and local law to their lands despite the property clause.
  15. In my mind, our form of government has been doomed ever since our two-party, first past the post election system became entrenched. Murdoch, internet trash like facebook and assorted other evil bastards merely sped it along.
  16. That was my initial reaction as well, but like I posted above, I think the idea is that it limits the injustice to the single act of relocating slaves across the Atlantic. After that everything was cool! Get over it!
  17. Same. The beginning of Amistad fucked me up. I knew that they didn't have a pleasant cruise over here, of course, but I had no idea how awful that was, and hadn't really thought about it before I saw that.
  18. State law controls on BLM property, per BLM regulations. I reckon that could be changed though.
  19. Haha wtf? Involuntary relocation aka kidnapping doesn't even make it sound better. I guess the idea is to whitewash all the horrors that happened after the relocation was complete.
  20. By becoming even more bitter and misanthropic, tbh.
  21. Several of these companies own my ass. Sad.
  22. Lol the last sentence doesn't make any sense in context.
  23. For clarity: that had already happened. This decision was that it's daddy Fox Corp is potentially liable for Fox News' fuckery.
  24. Yes this is one of several drawbacks to being a lawyer. What kind of lawyer are you? Some in-house gigs don't require local licensure, and from what I hear, a lot of them allow you to work remotely these days.
