  1. I don't think the Alberts thing is a big deal. I mean my wife has been ignoring me for months but i'm pretty sure she's still happy and will never leave me.
  2. I went to UT and love Austin, so I’m pretty unbiased. Why would anyone be surprised if a coach left A&M for Texas? Aggies are weird and college station is probably a terrible place to be rich because you can only eat so much Chipotle.
  3. They're saying whatever you want to believe. "Come with me, and you'll be in a world in a world of pure imagination...."
  4. Luka has gotten better every year. I imagine he's going to level up with marginal improvement across his game.
  5. Yeah, at some point you have to pick a direction and go. SGA, JW, and Chet are a great nucleus but certainly not unbeatable. Building around them as the price of poker goes up is what is difficult. I think the Celtics threaded the needle about as well as you can this year. They had two young stars and then somehow added Jrue and KP. What OKC does have going for them is the ability to be in the hunt for the foreseeable future. All the first rounders will help them work in cost controlled talent to their core.
  6. He had the best GM job in the NBA. Always selling for assets because of the way stars treat that market. No one asking why they took an “unplayable” Giddey #6 overall a few years ago.
  7. I think you're right and value is the complaint here because these teams timelines are completely different. It also sounds like Caruso is getting 4 for 80 this summer, and I could can understand how that doesn't make sense for the Bulls if they are tanking. Teams that don't want to win don't need glue guys. If the Bulls aren't tanking, it makes no sense.
  8. I was seeing things online about a 20m a year extension for Caruso. Still good value but OKC is entering real payroll territory. Presti’s job gets harder with actual expectations and decisions.
  9. Lavine is one of those guys that I’d love to see in a winning culture. He can fill it up, but he also seems happy just filling it up.
  10. I think a lot of teams would take a flyer on Giddey. I don’t think he’s a negative asset like some vet with years and 100 million owed. Great move for OKC because they are actually trying to win now and not just accrue assets.
  11. Makes sense. I still see jokes about it but not much reporting. I just thought everyone loved him before OKC got serious about winning, and then this year they saw his issues in a playoff series where margins are so thin. But weird stuff happens with young offensive players. Wasn't Markkanen traded for Larry Nance Jr and a 2nd or something crazy? Maybe the lesson is: The Bulls have no idea how to value players.
  12. Can't comment on any of that, and commenting on such things usually makes one look stupid. But yes, I think charges like that would hurt a player's value. But then again Miles Bridges might get 30million a year.
  13. He's like Danny Ainge but without a title.
  14. Great trade for a team trying to win a championship, but I bet Giddey has a much better career than the NBA twitter hive mind is projecting. OKC is too good to take the ball out of SGA's hands.
  15. I feel like that family can't keep up with the Joneses anymore. They probably have the most valuable franchise, but the NBA has become a billionaire boys club.
  16. I don’t understand but that’s ok. We can move on.
  17. Probably closer to us defending Dirk in 2005-2006 after a finals failure. You twisted your brain hard to miss that analogy.
  18. I would have thought the best offensive player in the NBA possibly being overweight and drinking beer would have made him a Surly Cult Hero.
  19. Uhhhhh. That’s definitely a “they,” buddy.
  20. Fair enough but I didn’t wish an injury on him.
  21. I don’t know. Pam almost went nuclear on me because I made a Wemby plantar faciitus joke.
  22. I only responded to your uniformed observation of his offensive game, but this is a great response because it allows you to sneak out the back door unnoticed. Well played.
  23. I almost posted the same thing. Also, Harden's foul hunting was an organizational philosophy at the time. Luka's offensive philosophy is diagnosing the defense and then getting his teammates wide open looks. https://x.com/JADubin5/status/1758495366696120495
