  1. This is a couple degrees of separation and I kind of blocked it out of my mind, but another family friend is the daughter of bestselling lesbian feminist fantasy author Marion Zimmer Bradley. Apparently she had a rough upbringing because her mother was a monster, which is saying something because her father was a convicted child molester. As bad as he was, her mother was far worse. It sounds like both her parents were devoted to molesting children. Anyway, her parents were founders of this group that was dedicated to reenacting medieval culture called the Society of Creative Anachronism. Basically, a bunch of nerds who run around dressed up like knights and maidens. And at one time, the Berkeley chapter of this group included in their membership Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. What a collection of truly horrific people.
  2. Holy shit. Just looked it up. $250 million. And one of the most amazing things, to me, about the Rogan deal is that Rogan retains all rights to his intellectual property. Prob same with Simmons too. It's like the opposite of the music industry where the record company owns rights to recordings (and with more zeros).
  3. Yeah, youtube is doing it's best to commit suicide by pushing out independent creators and forcing Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Fox News down our throats. I mean, I have 2 teenagers at home and youtube is on constantly, way more than any network TV. But if youtube starts to become all Jimmy Kimmel, the View, and the Daily Show then I guarantee you my kids and other kids will go somewhere else. https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/spotifys-100m-joe-rogan-deal-redefines-its-podcast-strategy-songwriters-and-record-labels-should-be-watching-closely/ Here's a link to a free one. There's another article that says the $100 million is a bargain, but it's behind a paywall. For the life of me I can't figure out how unless they sell a shit ton of ads.
  4. Whoa. Who knew there was so much money in podcasting. All of Rogan's material will pulled off Youtube and will appear exclusively on Spotify. https://www.wsj.com/articles/spotify-strikes-exclusive-podcast-deal-with-joe-rogan-11589913814
  5. A bottomless basket toss (I had to look it up) sounds like it could get a little...slippery.
  6. The guy looks like Brian Peppers's long lost cousin
  7. Thanks. It's good to hear all sides.
  8. There seem to be lots of folks that fixed their nearsightedness without Lasik. Lasik is great when it works but it sounds horrible when things go wrong. I think I'm just going to keep slowly reducing my prescription. Even if it takes years, it'll be worth it.
  9. How bad is your vision? Have you found anything that helps to improve your vision or maybe even cure myopia? My vision wasn't too bad (-2.50) but I'm sick of wearing glasses and I don't want to go under the laser. I mean the fact that we go nearsighted doesn't make sense to me. How did our ancestors survive if they couldn't see shit?. We must have descended from a bunch of cavemen with 20/20 vision or else they would have starved. And I remember, even as a kid, getting new glasses and they were so strong that the floor looked curved. I thought this can't be good for my eyes. The correction is too strong and my eyes will get weaker just to adjust. I figured since my eyesight went gradually worse as a kid, why don't I try to gradually go the other direction. I bought some glasses with -2.25 correction and wore them for a long time and my eyes seemed to adjust. Now I just moved down to -2.00 and it's blurry but hopefully my eyes adjust to these too.
  10. This lockdown has me getting fat. There is a global shortage of kettlebells and people are selling their shit-old equipment for double the retail price of new stuff.
  11. I think you need to enroll in the katfid school for how to tell non-white people apart.
  12. That's two girls from the kpop group Blackpink, and they're not in the movie.
  13. Unbelievable was really good. The first episodes were tough to watch, since it's about a rape. I wanted to beat the shit out of the first two investigating cops. Based on a true story and only 8 episodes. Toni Colette is great in pretty much everything.
  14. He was great in the Namesake, but man what a depressing movie.
  15. It's looking a little better, but is Villanelle supposed to be so inept that she thinks that falling 7 feet from a ladder will kill someone? I mean, it's her job. Shouldn't she make sure the target is dead before she starts perusing the spice aisle?
  16. On the bright side, it'll probably be a long time before either Peyton List or Peyton List kick the bucket.
  17. Bro, that thing looks scary. Long cruises are what I'd be looking for, riding around the Sierras, up and down the California coast, going to Tahoe. I don't need insane speed. A big gas tank and maybe a DCT so I won't have to shift like a maniac in traffic. Great explanation on the race btw.
  18. Can someone explain this race to me? How did the guy wearing the least aerodynamic suit riding a Frankenstein looking bike smoke all the other riders?

    Tiger King

I don't understand the appeal at all of the exotic cats. I have no desire to pet a baby tiger. I see one of those things and I think "that thing wants to kill me".
  20. I don't think so. This one has a bunch of no names in it, including some dude playing a Canadian version of Sam Elliott.
  21. My wife is addicted to some Netflix soap opera set on a horse ranch. I can't remember the name but it's the most bland show I've ever seen.
  22. Liberals and conservatives killing each other, taking cancel culture to the next level. What's not to like? It was dumb. It was fun. I wasn't bored. Nice job acting by the lead, who you couldn't help root for.
