  1. That feeling you all have is the "I can trust my wife/daughter around him."
  2. Allow me to be the first to thank Joey Stock Market for the discount week. It’s not everyday that you spook a bunch of idiots into a selloff over data that the Fed has been completely open about for two and a half years
  3. Goddamn this election really broke some of y’all’s brain.
  4. The shift from loud HS Republican that votes the way cause of his dad to seasoned end-the-fed College Libertarian was perfectly on schedule.
  5. I think a series of threads, that could end up becoming articles, or vice versa, like Financial Advice for new grads or those in their 20s, or Financial Advice if you’re expecting a baby could get alot of engagement. Maybe a “How to get to your first 100k” could be fun.
  6. I generally check out an “economic calendar” with events that catch my eye. Monthly employment and revisions first Friday of month , CPI/PPI mid-month, PCE end of month, GDP and any revisions, housing starts that catch my eye. Earnings discussions/results happen after hours when everyone is at happy hour. That’s when earnings discussions become economic rants. I wanted to have a discussion on the return of value menu pricing and the fast food industry after the huge increases post COVID. Could’ve been about personal budgeting/ changes to consumption habits/ grocery store traffic but ultimately it became a half ass post in the inflation thread. Probably because I called everyone fat-asses.
  7. Utah Supreme Court votes 4-1 to uphold a block against total abortion ban. Back to 18 weeks for now. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/4806024-utah-supreme-court-pause-near-total-abortion-ban/amp/
  8. I've posted this link before but its a great interactive tool that the KXAN put out for Texas. https://www.kxan.com/news/your-local-election-hq/how-has-the-number-of-registered-voters-changed-in-texas-in-recent-years/
  9. Nobody has ever seen BT and chainsaw in the same thread
  10. Yea when you create those messages you can put more keyword options than STOP as a choice to unsubscribe. I’ve only gotten two or three this cycle and instead of telling them to Fuck off, which helps them narrow their list, I just ignore
  11. Fuck myself? I just clicked on a Tim Walz for VP thread and there’s no link showing he’s been selected as VP.
  12. Flag on the play. False Start. Biff. Wishes should not be statement for thread titles.
  13. The social media team behind the super original “Dark Brandon”, gives you its new attack “They’re weird.” Imagine being a political consultant in DC. Probably 2nd most falsified billable hours behind Surly Lawyer.
  14. lol, 2 factor authentication has broken the brains of so many people.
  15. I really just want to get a sense of how many votes each party thinks they think they need. 4.5-4.7 million won the presidential elections in 04,08,12, and 16 for Republicans and generally flat (including Trumps first year). Trump got 5.9 and Biden got 5.25 in 2020.
  16. Do you know the difference in stock and funds? And this is their first fuck up, not rolling over into a new 401k or IRA.
  17. 401ks are overwhelmingly set and forget accounts that 99%of people can’t even tell you their stock ticker for. The expectation for people to be able to explain it is something that “individual freedom, liberty, and responsibility” all cover. Telling Dems to quit cheerleading the stock market is absolutely stupid and is a handicap that supporters put on their own selves when Republicans would never think about it.
  18. More than half of American families/households have a retirement plan like a 401k. Percentage goes up to 61% when you include other plans outside 401k. Government workers, like city/state/federal workers have pensions that invest in the market through equities, bonds, REITS and other funds. Their pension funds are tied to the market as well. Abandoning that argument is dumb, even if it serves more as a deterrent to conservative turnout than getting more Dems/Inds.
  19. Lines up with my thoughts, digital ads/internet is usually way cheaper and captures people who have expressed some interest through website tracking/clicks and cookies and other way more in depth AdTech. Seems like the campaign avoided Ted Cruz marking his campaign early as a big threat and could have a coat rider effect down ballot for them with Kamala activating groups that he himself couldn’t. I haven’t seen people calling him a socialist or anything like that. 4 minute drill sounds right I guess. Down 6, needs the TD and the extra point.
  20. So has he spent any serious money yet? If I wanted to think about this race in nicest terms it seemed like he wanted to make it out of summer undamaged, with most his money, and 100 days to make an argument when people are finally tuning in.
  21. There’s a ton of focus on the growing wave of Hispanic voters, but the Asian and Black population has also been outfucking whites in the state for awhile. Every time there’s a demo discussion that gets overlooked. Gonna be interested in the Ft Bend and Harris Co. breakdowns
