  1. Welp, the initial response from R leaders has been to rally support and “come out with vengeance”….5 months later. After the second and third trials with guilty verdicts the realization that there will be a severe drop in turnout for Republicans that will switch up state leges nationwide will be fun.
  2. I didn’t see any bad decisions in that video
  3. Infighting is going to fuck up the two vote cushion they think they have, if they even make out with those numbers after the general.
  4. Molly Cook may have just edged out Jarvis Johnson in SD-15, Whitmire old seat
  5. What’s stopping Texas Dems from sending mailers out to North Texas and Panhandle about voting a day that may fall after an election, and only voting on that Election Day? Nothing. Good
  6. Watching that video with no sound on reminds me of a wedding rehearsal. All the groomsmen told to do one thing during rehearsal, the wedding planner making her rules, and then the priest decides to do his own thing day of and everyone looks dumb.
  7. Libertarians don’t want to win. They want to pat themselves on the back for being above it all. They want to say they aren’t a part of the problem. Actually winning an election would be bad for them. That’s what attracts everyone to that freak show and other 3rd parties. Both parties already have coalitions that include them, they just reliably refuse to join.
  8. Might check with the company 401k if they allow post tax contributions and then speak to someone smarter than me on back door Roth? https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/investing/after-tax-401k-contributions
  9. Don’t tell a truck driver their job is menial. If you do, at least live stream it. Oh look anyone who’s on a SAVE plan for loan forgiveness is getting their payments cut in half. The Saving on a Valuable Education planis the newest income-driven repayment plan available to federal student loan borrowers, and this summer it's getting even more affordable. Currently, monthly payments on the SAVE plan are calculated as 10% of borrowers' discretionary income. That's the difference between your adjusted gross income and 225% of the federal poverty line, which is $33,885 a year for individuals in 2024, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. But in July, the payments will drop to 5% of discretionary income for borrowers with undergraduate debt currently on the SAVE Plan, an Education Department spokesperson confirmed to CNBC Make It. The change will begin with their first payment due date in July. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2024/05/24/save-plan-student-loan-payments-could-get-cut-in-half-in-july.html
  10. Well when every Republican uses their Fox appearance to tell the world that Republican led Texas, for 25 years, has allowed this because of open borders, I’m just sure they’ll begin to ask why.
  11. Pretty sure Mexico is gonna ramp up arrests/deportations/turnarounds based on the last couple months numbers and the zero talk about it in their elections next week combined with Joe B executive order.
  12. I just asked everyone at the bar about October 7th and all they said back was “is that your birthday?”
  13. As we honor Memorial Day this weekend and begin the summer, please know you are richer, aged like fine wine this year, and more successful than you have ever been in your life. 401(k) millionaires surged 43% in the past year, https://www.marketwatch.com/story/401-k-millionaires-surged-43-in-the-past-year-heres-how-long-it-took-them-to-reach-1-million-e39c146f.
  14. The federal government agreed to a modest $15 million fine for Norfolk Southern over last year’s disastrous derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, and the railroad promised to pay more than $300 million to complete the efforts to improve safety that it announced after the crash and address community health concerns. The Environmental Protection Agency and Justice Department announced the agreement Thursday — two days after a federal judge signed off on the railroad’s $600 million class action settlement with residents whose lives were disrupted. In addition to the civil penalty, Norfolk Southern agreed to reimburse the EPA an additional $57 million in response costs and set up a $25 million health care fund to pay for 20 years of medical exams in the community. The railroad will also pay $25 million to $30 million for long-term monitoring of drinking water and groundwater. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/norfolk-southern-fine-ohio-train-derailment-federal-settlement-rcna153733

  18. I think the numbers you posted yourself and the amount of law enforcement officers with criminal justice degrees working in higher roles above beat cop would line up.
  19. Your attempt at creating a wedge issue out of loan forgiveness by shitting on cops was bookmarked.

  21. Some other Libertarian quote: Age of consent should be 14. I can’t talk elegantly so let a podcast link on twitter explain
  22. Holy shit I fucked that up. Concern troll: erghhh I paid my loans. Wont somebody think of the 65% of cops with higher education? Biden: I will Actual Anastasia quote: Abortion is murder.
  23. An actual libertarian in 2024: Won’t somebody please think of the 35% of law enforcement who have college education? Merciful Joey B: I will. The same tragic hero: Wont somebody please realize only 35% of cops have extra education?
