  1. Pattaya… https://www.reddit.com/r/ThailandTourism/s/2YT1TZw2of
  2. Well actually, I’m not much of a beach vacation guy, I just know about Pattaya’s reputation as having a nasty, trashy beach; but close to the Mecca for Thai whores. My brother’s best friend married a Thai gal and he lived there off and on for a couple of years, some of his time near a beach. They went on a beach vacation, pictures looked awesome. I’ll get some details tomorrow and let you know. Watch out renting jet skis at Thailand’s beaches. I hear it’s one of their major scams.

  4. “Y’all need to call more audibles for the screen to the sideline!”
  5. I’m done. The first football game I remember watching was Super Bowl VI in 1972 when the Cowboys beat the Dolphins. Roger Staubach, Drew Pearson, Bob Lilly and Tom Landry were my boyhood idols. I remember my Dad disavowing the Cowboys after the way Jerry fired Landry. I knew there needed to be a change, so I wasn’t as unforgiving as Dad. The three Super Bowl victories in the ‘90s validated me sticking by them, although I started having doubts when Switzer was hired. Five or Six years ago I became an ambivalent fan. I vowed not to give Jerry another dime, refused to go to a game even if someone else was paying. I was ok with the Cowboys winning or losing. If they won, it was good because I was a fan. If the lost, I was okay with that too because I knew it probably upset Jerry. Now, I will actively root against Dallas until the Jones’s are no longer part of the team. I realize this is probably a lifelong decision for me, but whatever.
  6. Stupid question, but when the USS JFK gets to the tip of mainland Florida, will it continue to hug the coast of the Gulf or make a direct beeline to Brownsville?
  7. Reminds me of a beer joint in Wichita Falls named Frank’s Eight-Ball Lounge. Frank, the owner, was a WWII aviator who also played the trumpet. Frequented this place a lot as a UT student in the 80’s when I came back home to visit. Place had a jukebox that played Sinatra, Glenn Miller, The Letterman, etc. It was guaranteed that as the night progressed and patrons and Frank imbibed, he would play the trumpet at the end of Bobby Vinton’s “Blue Velvet”. The crowd loved it. Anyway, we almost always put a quarter in the jukebox for this song. @Armybrat, this one’s for you.
  8. This thread was a poi idea.
  9. The legend, the man, the ho.
  10. Not even one Scaramucci
  11. Well if Dawgman has confirmed it, it must be true.
  12. Thanks @Francisco 2.0, entertaining article. It was funny how many folks admitted that there was massive cheating going on in the short time he was there.
  13. Second La Condesa. Far enough away from the city center, but still quick access to great restaurants and street food. Not too far to walk to a Metro station as well. Use the Metro during the day for getting around and switch to Uber after sundown. I’ll keep my opinion on Pujol to myself…
  14. Summer before my freshman year at UT, the frat I eventually pledged had a bunch of guys come in to the hometown for a week to rush the recently graduated HS seniors and solicit donations from selected alums. We decided to go frog “gigging” one night. The plan was to load in 2-3 pickups and patrol the North Texas oil patch and ranch lands with varying degrees of permission, locate the stock tanks and then the frogs via spotlights and/or flashlights. So 3-4 of us were armed with .22’s and the others with spotlights and gigs. The goal was to shoot the frogs, then gig the frogs before the snakes got to them. So picture about eight or so 18-21 year olds going out at 10 pm after drinking a few beers and continuing to drink while shooting firearms in the dark…at frogs. It was chaotic at times as there would be some large tanks with several frogs…and several snakes. The firefights were brief, but intense as everyone would be yelling and laughing pointing out frogs and snakes and those of us with .22’s firing at said frogs and snakes, doing our best to avoid friendly fire. Once, a frat rat from central casting from the middle of Houston approached a small tree hanging over a tank with his gig. The tree was covered with cotton mouths; never saw anything like it before and hope to never see anything like it again. Dressed in his starched plaid shirt, khaki shorts and topsiders, he acted like he was going to gig one of the water moccasins. We went nuts, shouting and pleading with him to stop. He stopped, I never knew if he was serious or not. How we came out of that evening without tragedy was amazing. But we harvested lots of frogs and the frog leg fry we had the subsequent evening was awesome. Ahh, to be young again.

  16. He’s gonna coach against NC State and NC will determine if he coaches in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl.
  17. Hell of a game.
  18. Was that one of Herman's hellspawn doing the horns down in that series of pics running on a screen behind him? I believe their chief rival, the USF Bulls, employ the hook ‘em sign.
  19. True. Mack Brown buyout In the event he’s fired without cause, Brown would be due an amount equal to the sum of any remaining unpaid base salary payments. As of December 1, 2024, that figure would be $2,812,500.
  20. Yikes! Contract runs thru ‘27 at $5M per. NC is screwed. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35576738/north-carolina-football-coach-mack-brown-signs-1-year-extension
  21. They have two games against Washington and one against Philly.
  22. Congratulations A&M, you are the aggiest among all aggies.
  23. Are you looking for whores? Then Pattaya has you covered. If you are looking for a beautiful beach vacation in Thailand, then go elsewhere.
