  1. Aldi's in Carrollton sells beer & wine. They sell some Dutch made beer under store brands that are close to other beers. Broegel is their bock beer, the label looks like Shiner Bock. It's not bad, tastes like an Euro version of SB. They also have beers similar to Pilsner Urquell, Heineken, and maybe Becks.
  2. You're equating gays with Nazis?
  3. I've had current laptop for about 3 months, I live in DFW area, and use Windows10 Home with Microsoft Edge as the browser. About a week ago I clicked on espn.com from the prompt in the address window (have accessed the site numerous times before). I get then directed to espn.com.ar I can manually type "espn.com" in the address window but I'm always directed to the Argentine edition. I'm sure Argentina is swell country and all, but I would prefer the good ol' U.S. version that's in English and covers American sports, not just soccer, tennis & motor sports. Any help would be appreciated. And if I get one "Don't cry for me" crack...
  4. Casinos, right across the river. Speaking of “right across the river” and WF dining, there are/were catfish restaurants located just across the Red River in a few places in the WF sphere of influence; Bill’s in Waurika, The Peach Orchard in Terral and (back in the day)Tinker’s across the Red from Burkburnett. It was said that back in the day, they were set up for Texans because the beer drinking age for girls was 17 when it was 18 in TX. Don’t know if it was true or not, but Bill’s is popular to this day for Wichitans to make a weekend visit. I try to visit there every few years when I have WF duty.
  5. Swinging thru WF this weekend for a family weekend at Lake Kemp. I'll swing by; hopefully they sell growlers?
  6. P2 has tables... Fun fact, P2 was considered a “stag bar” back in the day, not in the strip club sense, but it was pretty much “male only” during daylight hours. Many WF power brokers (doctors, attys, judges, oilmen, etc) would go there, get hammered at lunch and eventually make it back to the office. If womenfolk went to P2, they (and their man) would stay in the parking lot and get curb service.
  7. I had a love/hate relationship with Stanley’s beanie burger; loved it when I ordered it and ate the first few bites, hated it a couple hours later. P2 is a WF institution; steak on garlic with a red draw for the win.
  8. "Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a colloquial term used for an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine." -Wikepedia Basically any massage or pleasing sight/sound that makes the back of your neck tingle. YouTube has a shit ton of these videos. Supposed to help the viewer relax and maybe help them nod off to sleep. Lots of Indian (dot) videos from barbers/masseuses.
  9. Think you have to play a minimum of 2 seasons in the CFL.
  10. Argument Clinic... "I'd like to have an argument please."
  11. The Blancmange... "He means to win Wimbledon!"

    Pete Rose

csb... Mid December 2005, Horns were fresh off annihilating Colorado in the Big XII Championship game which I was fortunate enough to attend. Back in Dallas, I found out Pete was coming to visit the company I worked for during the day and later that night would attend a X-mas party at the owner's house in Preston Hollow. This was an annual event that the owner threw every year for management. The owner's wife knew that he was a Pete Rose fan and behind his back arranged for the owner's private jet to pick him up and bring him to Dallas for the owner's X-mas present. I think she paid $60K for Pete's services. Anyhow, Pete show's up at the office and hangs out in the hall by the CEO's office. He was dressed in an all-white track suit trimmed in cardinal and gold; a USC logo on the breast jacket. I didn't like him before, and I sure as hell didn't like him at that point. When I went over by where he standing, he was off in his own little world, talking on his cell phone to someone(IMO) about placing some bets. I avoided him at the owner's house later that night (he was sequestered in the "library") declining to receive a signed baseball. 41-38 was a little extra sweet my friends. BTW, I heard the owner's wife was told in no uncertain terms not to pull such a stunt again.
