  1. swimming pool noodles work great too to cover a faucet if they're the kind with the hole down the middle
  2. uhhhhhhhhhhh it's already happened once before? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/after-night-significant-damage-d-c-mayor-bowser-imposes-earlier-n1221126 The protesters had expected to have until a 7 p.m. curfew to voice their criticism, but police moved on them almost a half-hour before that. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser had announced the 7 p.m. curfew earlier Monday, but it was clear shortly after 6 p.m. that authorities were getting ready for imminent conflict. Attorney General William Barr walked purposefully between lines formed by U.S. Park Police, National Guard members and law enforcement officers from various federal agencies. The officers put on gas masks, raised shields and moved forward until they were face to face with protesters. Then they backed off a little, and police rushed in from the east side of the street, firing rubber bullets, pepper spray, tear gas and flash-bang grenades into the crowd.
  3. Well you voted for a fascist that borrows rhetoric and language from hitler's most famous speeches and writings. You know, immigrants "poisoning the blood of our country" type of shit? If you vote for a fascist that's quoting hitler, you're gonna get called a fascist and probably a nazi.
  4. protip - older bulb-style christmas lights are decent for this, or really any string light that isn't LED-based
  5. Lol you should watch Andor. A New Hope is about 5 years after this conversation and scene happens in the show between a bunch of feckless senators.
  6. You're awfully blase about the president ignoring acts passed by both chambers and signed by the president. trumpo and elmo are illegally halting payment on programs that are THE LAW OF THE LAND. Pull your head out of your ass, and wake up and smell the ashes.
  7. I'd imagine your rig was pulling around 500W total at the wall, maybe 600W, but most mining setups under volt their cards. So your electric usage per day was around 500watts * 24 hours, or 12,000 W/hr of electricity used per day. Utilities meter in kilowatt-hours, so 12KW/hrs per day Multiply that by 365 days in a year, and again by 3 years mining, and you end up with 13,140KWhr of electricity used to mine $2099 in BTC. Not sure what your utility rate is, but 13.14 megawatt-hours consumed is a decent spitball estimate of your angry pixie consumption over the 3 year span edit: at current average houston utility rates of $0.13/KWhr that would be just over $1700 in electricity, so you would've made around $400 from the mining over 3 years once you factor out electricity costs
  8. Bump. Who would have guessed that the Melania, Argentina, and Enron cryptos were all launched by the same guy! And the trump coin rubes got RINSED by the same group too lolololol Good face eating acting by the leopards.
  9. But seriously, where are all the cryptomaxis? Aren't y'all all drowning in fat gainz? Aren't you excited to get blockchain just like Argentina did???? Haha it is kind of amazing that there's a linkage between $MELANIA, $LIBRA, and $ENRON - they're were all launched by the same dude! He even exploited the useful idiots to skim some profits for himself. Absolutely incredible face eating by this leopard
  10. Just to remind everyone: here is Zelensky presenting a battle flag to Congress in December 2022. I am so fucking ashamed of what our nation is doing to those brave people defending freedom and liberty. Now her brave defenders who look to see if their flag still waves despite the bombs bursting in air and the rockets red glare, those brave people see US as their enemy. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/world/europe/ukrainians-trump-voices.html?unlocked_article_code=1.yU4.DJAu.cK2bYuF-6c0T
  11. Lol you'll make a load of friends doing that
  12. Happy the Free World is backing Ukraine sovereignty, even if our nation can't muster that feat https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clyrnjrjrr5o Sir Keir called Zelensky on Wednesday evening and told him it was "perfectly reasonable" for Ukraine to "suspend elections during wartime as the UK did during World War Two", Downing Street said. Trump had earlier criticised Zelensky, saying he had done a "terrible job" and claiming "he refuses to have elections" in Ukraine. Russia's Ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, has told the BBC he believes Zelensky should hold elections and again rejected the idea of foreign peacekeeping troops being allowed in Ukraine in the event of any peace deal. Zelensky's five-year term was due to end in May 2024, but elections have been suspended since martial law was declared after Russia's invasion. In the phone call with the Ukrainian president, Sir Keir "stressed the need for everyone to work together", a Downing Street spokesperson said. "The prime minister reiterated his support for the US-led efforts to get a lasting peace in Ukraine that deterred Russia from any future aggression," they added. Following the phone call, Zelensky said they had discussed "upcoming plans and opportunities", adding: "UK's support matters indeed, and we will never forget the respect the British people have shown for Ukraine and our citizens." Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch also defended the Ukrainian leader, writing on X that Zelensky was "the democratically elected leader of Ukraine who bravely stood up to Putin's illegal invasion".
  13. Guatemala would disagree on the whole "America doesn't support dictators", for starters
  14. And wouldn't you guess who was involved with the corrupt politicians pushing Putin's influence?? PAUL MOTHERFUCKING MANAFORT, our sitting presidents first campaign manager!

  16. back on topic, apologies to anyone senstive: https://www.euronews.com/2025/02/19/zelenskyys-approval-rating-grows-to-57-debunking-trumps-4-support-claim President and authorities deemed legitimate The latest KIIS poll, showing Zelenskyy's approval rating at 57%, was conducted even before Trump had his first phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, which paved the way for the US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, Zelenskyy support improved from 52% in December 2024 to 57% in early February. Commenting on the latest ratings, KIIS Deputy Director Anton Hrushetskyi said Zelenskyy retains a fairly high level of trust in society and, even more so, retains legitimacy. "If some international partners and allies are worried about the legitimacy of the President in the context of possible peace negotiations and consider it appropriate to insist on elections, then from the point of view of Ukrainian citizens themselves, there are no problems with this," Hrushetskyi said. "The current president and the authorities are quite legitimate to conduct complex negotiations, and elections should be held after the war ends and at least Ukraine receives reliable security guarantees," he added. Ukraine was scheduled to hold a presidential election in March or April 2024, concluding Zelenskyy's first five-year term. The vote was postponed as the country's constitution does not permit elections under martial law, which was declared on 24 February 2022, the day when Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin repeatedly sought to use the delay to portray Zelenskyy as "illegitimate," a claim rejected by Kyiv as a distortion of the constitution.
  17. It is unfortunate that the most recent threats to Ukraines sovreignty have come from our country, yes. It's even more unfortunate that ANY discussion of our betrayal of their sovreignty will be cordioned off as "see arrrrr"
  18. Man, this show holds up.
  19. Not necessarily about deportation cruelty on its face, buuuuuuuuut Texas Observer: ICE Prosecutor in Dallas Runs White Supremacist X Account Sorry if it turns out I'm actually doxxing johnny sack or something
  20. I've been banging this fucking drum since Jan6. Trump has been straight up using hitler's rhetoric and propaganda techniques for years. There's a really excellent and deeply saddening series by Behind the Bastard's Robert Evans called "Behind the Insurrections" that he did right after Jan6, and wouldn't you know it, there's endless parallels in strategy and rhetoric between the OG's and the new kids on the block
  21. 'member when all the conservatives and trolls kept getting ultra butthurt when we pointed out trump toadying up to putin? 'member when it was "trump derangement syndrome" to fear what we are watching happen in realtime? I 'member.
  22. For a couple years I was flying to Bartlesville from Houston doing customer work.... God those were dark times. That tiny ass town with a weird ass hotel that doesn't have any right angles was like going through the looking glass
  23. those two things are definitely a 100% apples to apples comparison in terms of size, scope, duration, and social impact lol The bigger death is that of social good and civic-mindedness. We ain't got time for any of that. We gotta keep this goddamn line going up, you hear??
  24. propping up a requirement for their "end of days" prophesy is unironically the bedrock of their support for Israel.
