  1. It's wild how Kimmel was fired for saying that "many in MAGA land are working to capitalize on Kirk's death's" when that's literally happening. Kirk is a modern day Horst Weasel https://forward.com/news/768607/horst-wessel-charlie-kirk-nazi/ Kimmel's words were pretty tame, and MAGA is acting like he's campaigning to hang the Vice President or something like Kirk did
  2. You're right, the State and the God Emporer should be the sole arbiters of truth, given his sterling record of faithfulness and fidelity. That entire broadcast station should lose its license over that speculation!!!! Goddamn, you fit reich in with the NewThink Edit: Kimmel's words were more about the administration than Kirk even, so it's extra fucking ridiculous
  3. They're acting like controlled opposition, it's infuriating
  4. Bro do you even trump derangement syndrome?
  5. energy transfer on impact is a WHOLE field of ballistics, and why there's hollowpoint and softpoint bullets - in contrast to FMJ. Hollow/soft points will hit and expand, and have a larger crosssection that allows more energy to be transferred while the projectile is passing through. FMJ's tend to stay in one shape and pass through - which is specifically why the military chose 5.56. It tumbles on impact and dumps energy that way, and doesn't violate the geneva convention. A fast-moving FMJ can pass straight through if there's not enough mass in its way - rifle overpenetration was a well-documented phenomina during WWII where Marines would need more shots than expected to put down a charging enemy. And those marines were shooting 30-06 out of a Mauser action rifle too
  6. Definitely not - we're still running through the built up inventory. The pain will start to hit juuuust in time for Christmas shopping most likely, as that's when retailers are usually juicing up their stocks for sales
  7. Goddamn, the closing line 1:48 or so: "the most valuable thing you could ever do is die" is incredibly salient with Kirk's murder
  8. It really is amazing that you're working to hard to lionize someone for """peaceful speech""" that literally organized an armed attack on our nation's capital and interrupted the peaceful transition of power. He deleted his tweet on January 9th, but he was bragging about sending EIGHTY busses into the Stop the Steal rally https://www.dailydot.com/news/charlie-kirk-delete-tweet-buses-capitol/ “Despite what the media and certain weak intellectually-compromised Constitutional scholars are telling you, Mike Pence does not have to accept the results of polluted and poisoned electors. He does not,” Kirk said. Countless Trump supporters, convinced that Pence had committed treason thanks to the rhetoric online, were heard openly calling for the vice president to be hanged during the riot. https://web.archive.org/web/20210107060012/https://twitter.com/charliekirk11/status/1346271038011625472
  9. The grievances you choose to go to war over are indicative of how good life is for you. I'm glad your biggest concern is people's email signature lmfao
  10. Well, but bullet landed in a person who died, but I agree with you in terms of rushing past the "what happened" and going straight to "let's earn off this attack"
  11. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/slander 1 : the utterance of false charges or misrepresentations which defame and damage another's reputation 2 : a false and defamatory oral statement about a person Directly quoting Kirk is definitionally not slandering him
  12. Holy shit Pablo Torre is landing more bombshells, THIS TIME ON SILVER! sourced twitter posts in spoiler so no longcat
  13. fortunately, the director of the FBI has experience writing childrens books
  14. good lord the chuds are literally calling the shots Absolutely a great thing that these very fine people are deciding who gets higher education and who doesn't based on their lawful speech
  15. How did he have a room mate if he was living at home with his parents? I missed the explainer for that
  16. There is a weird subculture of blackpilled incels called "transmaxxers" that feel like they failed at being masculine (failed "chadmaxxers"), so they'll go female to reap the perceived social benefits. It's not LGBTQ, it's more so an expression of body dysmorphia and incredibly antisocial behavior. There was a decent explainer linked in another thread, it's a weird weird world of angry young men with deep seated antisocial rage. It's not left or right, it's just antisocial behavior
  17. One of my favorite youtube channels put out a great analysis from a civil engineering and hydrology perspective. The host lives in Central Texas, and has a ton of really interesting videos on all the engineering that holds our world up
  18. I wouldn't hold my breath for NYT. Between their storied history of toadying up to and downplaying the danger of fascism (insert 1924 Hilter headline), and trading away all their ethics for access ala Haberman, they have done the yeoman's work to get their messaging out and sanewash it to push the overton window ever further to the right. I don't think it's intentional on their part, but they sure do find it happening over and over and over again
  19. In fairness, this thread has been home to quite a bit of rampant speculation and conspiracy. It's just that it's coming from the FBI and journalistic entities that are really shitting the bed. This story has been a complete boondoggle from the jump, and I'm not holding my breath for the facts to get any more clear after today's presser
  20. Really interesting video came across my feed wrt/ farmers voting for trump and now enjoying the economic consequences TLDW: farmers knew trump was going to do all of this, they voted for him anyways because they were CERTAIN there would be some unquantified benefit to having him in office. This famer's opinion was that the farmers were mainly tunnel-visioned on tax breaks because of their large estates, and completely ignored the downsides that were on-the-tin. "We were lied to" is a lie. edit: just saw it was posted in the Leopards Eating Faces thread last night, derp
  21. Pistols have way different ballistics than rifles, a .223 can make a pretty gnarly exit wound channel, and 30-06 even moreso. Theres a ton more velocity and so exponentially greater kinetic energy is delivered
  22. Here's a source to my claim: https://ipropertymanagement.com/research/average-rent-by-year 2010: $895 2015 $994 2020 $1,185 2025 $1,650 % increase: 65% over 10 years, 85% increase over 15 years. So mea culpa, it's a greater than 50% increase that's still far ahead of baseline inflation. So if you want to nitpick my specific number but ignore the overall trend that worker wages have definitely not gone up 85% in 15 years or 65% in 10 years, that's your perogative.
  23. My apologies for being a dick, it's just maddening to see a serious person act like the explosion of extractive and exploitative leases is simply because people have more money to give to their land lords. Sorry for treating you like you were posting in bad faith, though
