Trump puts Washington police under federal control, National Guard to be deployed
In the 1930s, the nazis deployed brown shirts and filled their ranks with the dregs of society that didn't have a job or prospects to look forward to. They then used that paramilitary force to attack their "untermensch" and political enemies. https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/german-police-in-the-nazi-state We are at the point where the feds are hospitalizing journalists and activists for asking too many questions and taking too many pictures. The posse of highschool drop outs that ICE is hiring is just a modernization of hitlers Brown shirts - a paramilitary force that answers only to their fuhrer and doesn't give a shit about breaking the law or protecting public safety.

The Democratic Party
Again, is this really true? As an adult I don't think I've ever seen Dems actually in power, and when they """have""" it hasn't been Dems road blocking legislative efforts, or playing identity politics games. Tbh, it feels like you and bozo are internalizing and evangelizing the MAGA framing and messaging by just "many people are saying Dems bad" as your whole commentary. It's not rank and file, it's the fish rotting from the head. It's not AOC or Mamdani being divisive or playing identity politics, but that's certainly how fox frames it to get the uncritical chuds onboard. And then the dem leadership is more than happy to tow that line for MAGA like a good controlled opposition does, because they're scared of letting go of their free insider trading meal ticket

Holy shit balls is Intel (INTC) Fucked?
You're citing a pre-trump47 article to tell me how what trump47 is doing is bi-partisan, just FYI. Reframing a grant as a stock purchase is some pretty rancid deal rewriting mid flight. https://www.business-standard.com/world-news/trump-admin-in-talks-to-take-10-stake-in-intel-via-chips-act-grants-125081900100_1.html Beyond Intel, the White House official also floated the possibility that the administration could convert other Chips Act awards into equity stakes. It’s not clear whether that idea has gained traction broadly within the administration or whether officials have broached the possibility with any companies that could be affected. It's going to sour any business from taking grant money for fear of it turning out to be a baited hook. The feds operating with such dishonesty is bad for business.

Holy shit balls is Intel (INTC) Fucked?
They're getting bailed out from decades of paying out record dividends and stock buybacks. This is more taxpayer subsidy of executive bonuses. If they're buying back over a hundred billion in stocks, maybe they are the source of their own business problems. God, I love the Almighty Free Market and it's infinite wisdom to punish inefficient firms

That's great for you and all that, but the pedophile you voted for isn't releasing the Epstein files for some reason. I wonder why he's giving his co-conspirator such a good deal at club fed in aggyland

Covid/Influenza/Black Death. 2024 and beyond
Before the outbreak, most Texas doctors had never seen a measles case because of how uncommon it has become, said Texas Department of State Health Services Commissioner Jennifer Shuford. She credited testing, vaccination, monitoring and education with helping to end the outbreak. I wonder if that means that the previous antivaxxers changed their minds after they realized that vaccines prevent death, or if that's just preseason sunshine pumping before the next respiratory disease season

Papers, please. Surly thread of deportation cruelty dominance
The feds have no control over the posses that they've armed and unleashed. https://abc7.com/post/federal-agents-fire-shots-man-during-operation-san-bernardino-police-say/17562097/ Martin says he was working with his father-in-law and 18-year-old son-in-law on Saturday morning when their vehicle was suddenly surrounded by unmarked cars and masked men. "They hopped out with their pistols already drawn. Then they proceeded to ask us to lower the window and open the doors," Martin said. Martin stressed that they asked, but the masked agents did not identify themselves. Martin and his family stayed in the locked car as agents insisted they come out. Video shows moments later, the agents shattered two windows. "Once the glasses were shattered, my father-in-law feared for his life, from his perspective. And so he... I guess the car was already in drive, so he drove the vehicle away from where those agents were at," Martin said. In the video, three gunshots can be heard. "Thank God the bullets didn't go through the truck. They just went in, got stuck into the door, but they were aimed at my brother-in-law, who was in the passenger front. And so I was just glad he was OK," he said. The family sought the help of San Bernardino police, who soon arrived at their home. "So once they showed up, we made a report with them. They told us FBI was going to get in contact with us," he said. The family says instead, it turned into an hours-long standoff with several federal agencies showing up at their home. They say an officer seen pulling out a weapon on video during the vehicle stop is the same person who fired the gunshots. "He said that he didn't shoot... that those three shots were him tapping on the glass. But we have bullet holes inside of the vehicle now," Martin said.

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
It's pretty funny how the inflation thread got real quiet in 2025 as inflation hits record highs. 40% jump for plain vegetables from the field is gonna be about the baseline, I would think. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/inflation-alarm-bells-went-off-again-and-prices-are-rising-just-how-bad-is-it-going-to-get-6659c921

Vice President tells NASA to get to the Moon in 5 years.
NASA is giving up on it's Earth science mission now. In violation of its chartering 1958 law https://arstechnica.com/space/2025/08/nasas-acting-chief-calls-for-the-end-of-earth-science-at-the-space-agency/ "All the climate science, and all of the other priorities that the last administration had at NASA, we’re going to move aside, and all of the science that we do is going to be directed towards exploration, which is the mission of NASA," Duffy said during the appearance. "That’s why we have NASA, to explore, not to do all of these Earth sciences."

The Democratic Party
It really is something that the current crop of fascists are still benefiting from the intellectual dishonesty of the "ur" crop of fascists. There is no humor in it, they don't give a shit about their words being lies. They know only their enemy believes in words and they are delighted by acting in bad faith. When you press them, their arguments amount to "many people are saying", but pressing them only leads to them saying it's not the right time or place to talk about it and delay infinitely. You're talking about reasoning people out of a position they weren't reasoned into, and are proud of their irrational stakeout. The only way is for the leopard to eat all their faces. In 1930s Germany all the small business owners LOVED how the nazis got the economy humming, and then they got consumed by the machine they built in the 40s, by way of private state sanctioned cartels ran by the old money they hated in the first place. They've learned their lesson. I can't help but think we're gonna be getting our turn in the barrel the more we FAFO

Hitler named the nazis "national socialist workers party" as a troll against the communists - there's been a ton of academia on it. Even Encyclopedia Britannica has an article on it. Their use of red for their flag was also poking the soviets in the eye, not to mention everyone who joined the nazis thinking they were a socialist group were killed during the night of long knives. Classic leopard eating faces moment

My HS had a couple of gun scares and full campus lockdowns from shootings or home invasions near the HS. And, a gunshot wound is a rather more serious proposition than possibly losing in an athletic event in the one in ten thousand chance a trans person is competing at all. But if to you school shootings and trans people competing in sports are equally dangerous to students... I simply cannot agree that both sides are the same
