  1. I hope you didn't get a shaming vibe from me - it's ok to be a weird little freak! Just don't be a fascist because you're ashamed of yourself. Ya know, along the lines of grindr going down in Milwaukee during the RNC while the republicans are trying to undo Obergefell
  2. so vance gets all jacked up on mountain dew and then cranks it to dolphin porn? It's a shame these folks that go into politcs are so repressed - if they just let their freak flag fly they'd be wayyyyyyyyy less angry at the world
  3. It really is incredible how you always link the biggest pieces of shit on Twitter lol. That profile is just a star wars themed culture war screed, they've even been noted a few times for tweeting angrily about shit that didn't happen lol
  4. Which circles back around to the disparity in policing and law enforcement, and shit like the war on drugs being designed to break up families and put people into for profit prisons. Among many other schemes to keep prisons nice and full so their shareholders can get the returns they are entitled to
  5. Genuinely, most of the adults I knew growing up did not make enough to max their 401k. I know my household didn't growing up. Do you think the median American worker bringing home $45k/yr is able to contribute max to their 401k? Yeah no shit, the best way to make money is to have money. The problem tends to be starting that process of building when the majority of America is fighting to keep heads above water
  6. There's also a funny thing where the windshield is a weak spot on cars in the game, so it had an EXTRA LARGE weak spot with the mega windshield lol
  7. No shit, there was a big ass documentary a while back titled "13th" about how prisoners are used as slave labor in the US to drive profits for the private prisons and for the mega corps getting extremely cheap labor.
  8. My view is that the people who benefit as shareholders when companies steal from their employees are those that hold considerable numbers of shares, which is not the working class people were talking about. Also, Americans with 7 figure portfolios are the far and away exception. Probably not in your circles, which is why you think it's normative
  9. Why don't the poor people just stop being poor and buy tens of thousands of shares like executives and the investor class does? Have they even HEARD of bootstraps??
  10. I think the real issue at hand is that productivity gains are not evenly distributed or enjoyed. Rather than the employees seeing a wage increase commiserate with their increase in productivity, we see the shareholders reap that benefit more often than not.
  11. Yeah man, the whole thing just continues to be weird and not quite fit together. Of course, trump wouldn't have it any other way - people will keep talking about this for a looooong time as long as there's all this uncertainty
  12. dude it's wild how excited the chuds get to put fascist flags on their boats - Port Oconnor was full of em on 4th of July weekend even with Beyrl coming
  13. My biggest complaint with Acolyte is that much like the sequel trilogy, it has very weak story telling. There's no "because of... therefore...." with the characters, and it's all "and then.... and then...." that's moving the plot forward. Thankfully, it's not as contrived as a puzzle knife that's the solution to TWO macguffins in ROS, but the writers left so many threads unused and just dangling in Acolyte. I agree with the spirit of your post though, I love seeing more aspects of Star Wars and am happy to take a few C-'s and D's if it means we get the highs of Andor and Bad Batch s3
  14. I doubt that it was just $5B, there's so many knock on effects and deaths that come from cascading failures that take down hospitals and 911
  15. https://www.wuky.org/local-regional-news/2024-07-24/kim-davis-legal-team-pushes-to-overturn-obergefell-citing-dobbs-decision Gotta love building on the precedent of "ain't no precedent, BITCH!"
  16. Whatever the case, I for one am glad how easy and unburdened we are with things like CHL requirements so that the Everyman can be armed at all times. It's only ever solved problems
  17. It's a funny meme, but for what it's worth, it is a hoax. Unfortunately https://knowyourmeme.com/editorials/guides/jd-vance-did-not-have-sexual-relations-with-that-couch-the-viral-hoax-about-vance-a-glove-and-a-sofa-explained Because those memes are getting good lol
  18. Because our healthcare system is plagued with middlemen and shareholders that are eager to add fees and take percentages?
  19. USDOT would agree with you that it's some bullshit https://www.npr.org/2024/07/23/nx-s1-5049792/deltas-airlines-delays-and-cancelations-prompt-dot-investigation
  20. It was already ugly. You new here or something? We're all but counting down republicans openly calling Harris racial slurs, and the (R) speaker has had to ask his caucus to tone it down already. The real fun is when the fascist fluffers show up to repeat the hollow talking points, and then run away crying about how mean the CR is for shitting on their unsourced bullshit
  21. The kids are alright https://www.ign.com/articles/fortnite-players-band-together-to-pick-on-in-game-tesla-cybertrucks-destroy-on-sight Epic Games producer Kyle Wynn also chimed into the conversation. In addition to reminding players that companies are made up of individuals with a variety of thoughts and beliefs, Wynn says, “also yeah, hard focus on sight.”
  22. Can we talk about the nationwide effort to criminalize books as enshittification of our education system? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna161444 The law enforcement officer spent months methodically gathering evidence. He leafed through thousands of pages and highlighted key passages amid reams and reams of paper. He wore his body camera to record his interactions with witnesses and suspects. And he photographed what he saw as instruments of the alleged crime: Books. The targets of the investigation? Three school librarians in Granbury, Texas. The allegation? They had allowed children to access literature — such as “The Bluest Eye,” by Toni Morrison — that the officer, Scott London, a chief deputy constable, had deemed obscene.
