  1. Fuck you and fuck that asshole for turning over all of the treasury data and payment systems to the robber barons in DOGE. I'm not gonna watch an hour long circle jerk over how there's too much regulation and anti-money laundering measures. Good on ya for keeping this handle as long as you have, @GRHorn
  2. There you go again, putting words in my mouth that I didn't say or type. But UT is certainly making moves that would not be out of place in a fascist society.
  3. Had to look up the whole video of Burr on Fallon - Fallon is trying to crawl out of his own skin as Burr goes in on billionaires lol. Video below is timestamped to the start of the Musk rant, but he does talk about Glengarry Glen Ross on Broadway at the beginning if that's your cup of tea
  4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motte-and-bailey_fallacy ah, a classic of yours. Well done!
  5. I've got a stovetop one of those for camping and whenever Centerpoint forgets to do maintenance. Makes coffee that you can CHEW
  6. Their published report literally makes that claim, and they have a good visual on how the hotel industry is already seeing a 2% ding to bookings: A mix of sentiment effects will negatively impact international travel to the US. In key origin markets, a situation with polarizing Trump Administration policies and rhetoric, accompanied by economic losses to nationally important industries, small businesses and households, will discourage travel to the US. Some organizations will feel pressure to avoid hosting events in the US, or sending employees to the US, cutting into business travel. Anecdotal evidence from Tourism Economics clients confirms a growing number of travel cancellations from Canada. Immigration policy enforment activities may also raise concerns among potential travelers, particularly from Mexico, such the process of crossing the border or their safety while in the US.
  7. That story has a common thing I've noticed among conservatives - he came in with a notion that they were serving tons of children but has ZERO evidence to back it aside from his """sincerely held belief""". So much of their horse shit is backed by belief and not reality or evidence. They're so goddamn vulnerable to disinformation so long as it fits their worldview, it's maddening
  8. We've always been at war with Oceania fentanyl
  9. And that's why @Rex Kramer thinks that Hartzell is doing a great job
  10. With how often ICE and DHS has been black bagging tourists, I would imagine nearly any tourism focused industry will take a ding. That'll have a big drag effect when potential customers are justifiably worried about getting disappeared and thrown into solitary confinement for a week and moved across the country for no reason at all
  11. All of this reminds me of ultraconservative parents who randomly unilaterally decide something is EVIL because they read a random article about it. ... Wait, it's exactly like that and the State is acting like it knows what's best and most """moral""" for the People
  12. ICE is disappearing people in New Mexico https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/new-mexico-ice-arrests-aclu-complaint-b2717442.html Civil rights attorneys are sounding the alarm after 48 New Mexico residents “disappeared” after their arrests by federal immigration enforcement agents this month. Immigration and Customs Enforcement “has not indicated where any of them are being detained, whether they have access to counsel, in what conditions they are being held, or even which agency is holding them,” according to a federal complaint from the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico. They have been “effectively forcibly disappeared from our communities,” attorneys wrote. At least 48 people ICE described as “illegal aliens” were arrested in a week-long series of operations in Albuquerque, Roswell, and Santa Fe earlier this month, according to the agency. But only 21 people had final orders of removal from the country. “This is not just a procedural issue — it’s a serious human rights violation,” according to Rebecca Sheff, senior staff attorney at ACLU of New Mexico. “When the government takes people into custody and then their whereabouts are unknown and they are unreachable, it places these individuals outside the protection of the law,” she said in a statement. “Families are left in agonizing uncertainty, desperate to contact their loved ones and ensure their safety. Enforced disappearances are prohibited by both our Constitution and international human rights standards.”
  13. If you're brown and a citizen, watch out. ICE may black bag your ass anyways https://www.wbez.org/immigration/2025/03/13/chicago-attorneys-accuse-federal-agents-of-violating-immigrants-rights-and-take-legal-action The 22 cases include Chicago resident Julio Noriega, 54, a U.S. citizen who, according to court documents, was arrested, handcuffed and spent most of the night at an ICE processing center in suburban Broadview. He was never questioned about his citizenship and was only released after agents looked at his ID. “I was born in Chicago, Illinois and am a United States citizen,” Noriega said in his statement, adding that on Jan. 31, after buying pizza in Berwyn he was surrounded by ICE agents and arrested. Officers took away his wallet, which had his ID and social security card. “They then handcuffed me and pushed me into a white van where other people were handcuffed as well.”
  14. Hey man, Ian Cheong - noted GamerGate provocateur and DailyCaller writer - was a preferred news source for basically every moment of civil unrest in 2020. Couldn't go a page without him getting linked or sourced in DT. Dude was and is a profilic source of disinformation AND straight-from-russia propaganda
  15. Sounds quite a bit like the pitches for FSD 1-12, to be honest
  16. In this tweet, it shows the autopilot disengaging at the last second. There's been a huge disparity of accident reporting where "autopilot/FSD wasn't in charge!", even an NHTSA investigation about it https://www.motortrend.com/news/nhtsa-tesla-autopilot-investigation-shutoff-crash/ They found a number of incidents where autopilot "on average aborted vehicle control less than one second prior to the first impact."
  17. Lol 52-80 just posted a TLDR in the business board about 5 minutes before your post. Did the newsletter just go out or something?
  18. Pretty impressive how clear and consistent the response to Mark Rober has been from TSLA bag holders. If y'all are so confident, recreate it yourself and prove him wrong lol. Video only is never gonna work as well a sensor fusion with LIDAR. Thats been the state of the art since like 2022, and the tech is not expensive - especially on the scale of car component costs. ESPECIALLY if he's already charging $10,000 for buggy software that kills first responders cops and firefighters and paramedics because the cameras couldn't see them in time. It's predictable at this point how quickly the team dynamics come into play to find a reason to just not engage with thinking and be outraged instead. FSD is a perfect product and MUST NOT be challenged!!!!
  19. Sounds everyone's favorite bogeyman Auntie Pho is at it again amirite
  20. They're gonna be shit outta luck, already out of the country and the door is barred for anyone who disrespects Dear Leader
  21. Who's "they" in this sentence?
  22. Weirdly I saw an apparently dead bird just lying on the ground walking my dog this morning. Thankfully he wasn't interested in sniffing it, but I haven't seen that before. Kinda spooky
  23. FWIW you should consider ripping that media to a hard drive. Disc rot is real, and a minor manufacturing defect can lead unreadable media after a decade or two
  24. Yeah this is actually a nothingburger IMO - the trump children lost their SS in 2022 or so. So yeah, maybe a little early for Hunter but it seems like "adult" children usually don't get protection
