  1. I would hope if Jones is back that Cam Williams is given the opportunity to win one OG spot (and that DJ Campbell is at the other).
  2. Yep. Only concern with Skinner is that if he does enter the portal his former WR coach (Emmett Jones) is now the PGC at Tech.
  3. Also had multiple knee injuries. Alexis didn't play his Sr year of high school because of a knee injury.
  4. As will Deandre Moore if needed. But the chances that more than 1 true freshman WR (Cook) will get snaps is pretty pretty low.
  5. FWIW - Brennan Marion just started following a couple of new WR's. The most recent is 6'5" Kansas WR Quentin Skinner. Skinner caught 26 balls for 440 yds and 5 TD's for the Jayhawks last season. He's a class of 2020 who RS'd and then saw limited action in 2021. A former walk-on he was a finalist for the Burlsworth trophy this season. As far as I can tell he's not in the portal. Yet. Certainly has the big catch radius Texas is allegedly looking for. https://kuathletics.com/roster/quentin-skinner/ Previous to Skinner, Marion started following the USF WR Xavier Weaver who announced his intent to enter the portal a few days ago. The 6'1" WR has caught 94 balls for 1400+ yards and 8 tds in the last two seasons (19 games) https://gousfbulls.com/sports/football/roster/xavier-weaver/13995
  6. Does this pursuit of Catalon mean that other safety options are no longer options. The only other offer, Ja'had Carter, looks like he is going to Ohio St. Did other players they were pursuing decide to not enter the portal?
  7. I love that their solution to correcting the culture issues that caused them to boot multiple 5 star 'trouble-makers' is to bring in another teams booted 5-star trouble-maker.
  8. When asked about Texas doing a physical, Bobby (IT) says that Catalon has had scans and they have come back clean. This is not expected to be his only OV.
  9. 8 bowl games and a title game left. 16 teams. Still waiting for that rush of post-bowl talent that 9.95'ers told us was going to enter the portal and was the reason Texas was holding off on offering any of the 'lesser' WR/S talent that had already entered.
  10. Are you kidding, the recruiting services would have shit all over Walter because of his lackluster 40 time.
  11. You don't need to be a track guy to be a deep threat (of course it helps). A guy with long arms and a big catch radius doesn't need the same speed a little guy might. And someone who runs great routes is going to have the ability to get deep even if he doesn't run a 10.4
  12. Update on where we are stand 25 days into the Dec/Jan 45 day portal window. The portal closes on Jan 18th and will not open again until May 1. Team needs are taken from the Inside Texas Portal Tracker: QB (0) RB (0) WR (1-2) Thus far, bupkis. No offers reported. No visits scheduled. And our WR1 shit his pants on national television last night. Casey Cain played pretty well though - so we got that going for us, which is nice. TE (0) OL (0) DL (1) No offers. No visits. LB (1) No offers. No visits. Was reported that Texas did reach out to the Tulsa LB who ended up at OSU and the Stanford LB who transferred to Utah. CB (1) Texas very quickly identified, offered, and scheduled a visit for Gavin Holmes. He committed, and a young but talented DB room just got better and more experienced. S (1) Texas offered and scheduled a visit for Safety Ja'had Carter shortly after the 6'2" Syracuse defender entered his name into the portal. Unfortunately Ohio State was interested as well and appear to have taken the lead in his recruitment. P (1) We got the 4 yr Stanford punter to commit very shortly after entering the portal. Jeff Banks and his monkey doing work.
  13. Is inability to track a ball is spectacular. That first deep shot was short but it was short to the sideline because the DB was running stride for stride with Worthy. If Worthy had any idea where the ball was going he could have downshifted and made the catch.
  14. Not that PFF grades are the end-all be-all, especially for OL, but Hutson was the lowest graded OL on Texas this season - and the second lowest graded in the Big12. Campbell (he only played 20% as many snaps and much of those in garbage time) was the 4 highest graded overall on Texas and the highest graded pass-blocker. *11 Bowl games not including playoffs left to go. I look forward to the flood of talented players Texas has been waiting for, to hit the portal.
  15. For those curious - here are the snap counts for the game against Washington. Thompson and Red played 5 & 6 snaps respectively.
  16. Neyor was class of 2019. He RS'd in 2019. 2020 doesn't count. Played in 2021. Could use Medical for 2022. So 3 years of eligibility left? But realistically, if he has a good season, he'll be gone.
  17. What an absolute disastrous performance for him if his intention was to use this game to get paid again.
