  1. Ive been thinking about this lately and Orwell’s quote regarding Hitler and the nazis…. “Better to end in horror than a horror without end.” I feel terrible for all the people about to be hurt by this movement of psychos for no good reason other than scoring political points. Dark times Blame the voters all you want but the institutions from the courts to the media catastrophically failed the voters. You can’t just vote harder against fascism.
  2. I wouldn’t blame Harris, it’s the 2020 Biden pick that doomed this election. He was in no way competent enough to take on a cult backed by tech billionaires and Russia. His strategy for dealing with this was to pretend it wasn’t happening. Record stock market, legislative wins, and good economic numbers don’t mean shit to these people. Biden did the right thing to drop out but it was way too late for him to get re-elected. Harris could still win but Joe Biden’s people and administration did her no favors. It was always an uphill battle.
  3. I’m not well suited for a gulag
  4. So no red strongholds in swing states got bomb threats from Russia? Fancy that. This is a fucking war. Fuck Putin and Trump
  5. This thread should be at the top.
  6. Quakers better come through
  7. Republicans need the richest man in the world, RFK, Jill Stein, and Russia to maybe get their candidate to win the electoral college tonight. Really sad time for the conservative movement.
  8. Admins in disarray
  9. Tonight we find out just how stupid millions of American are. Democracy
  10. Tigerdroppings went full maga early on, got into promoting qanon… i literally warned them what would happen before they banned me. Like TD, bubble at Texags is a product of the site’s administration choices and/or political leanings.
  11. Why the fuck do students have to wait hours to vote? This seems like it was preventable.
  12. Uh, Trump is a massive fundraiser for the Dems. They will certainly be texting you and me for money everyday. Sadly, this also happens regardless of outcome.
  13. The sad reality is the GOP is going to get more crazy regardless of outcome. There will be no autopsy report or constructive self reflection. They will always place blame elsewhere. This Trump campaign was the worst run campaign I have ever seen… somehow worse than his 2020 campain. If Trump wins, it will call into question a litany of firmly held assumptions surrounding the efficacy of modern day campaign tactics and Dems will be the ones in need of reflecting.
  14. Mainstream Democratic Party is borderline neoconservatives at this point. Even their supposed “liberal” policies like tax credits for new moms, $50k for startup businesses, $25k for first time homebuyers are the kinds of things previous Bush administrations would have done. Dems have in no tangible way moved far left. I mean holy fucking shit FDR would be a full blown communist in today’s Democratic Party.
  15. Damn shame, they’re all moving right where all the catastrophic hurricanes will be hitting in the next 20 years.
  16. Regardless of the outcome tonight, the Republicans still voting for Trump have proven themselves to be complete and total frauds. They have voluntarily abandoned any principles or ethics they once purported to champion. These people should not be taken seriously in debates and never given the benefit of the doubt again. They are frauds with no values other than domination.
  17. Prepare to be disappointed. Somehow Florida and Ohio went MAGA and never looked back. I hope I’m wrong.
  18. It’s actually against their (and most Mennonite’s) religion to vote. They believe in firm separation of church and state and see themselves as solely with the church. They do this for a few reasons, some stated, such as they refuse to be complicit in any wrongdoing by the state… they don’t choose the lesser of two evils because they don’t choose at all. An unstated reason is it makes it easier to deal with foreign governments if they know their population isn’t going to interfere in domestic politics.
  19. Bombarded with right wing propaganda growing up with almost no exposure to differing viewpoints probably has something to do with it. Yuri Bezmenov out front…
  20. "Let's make America great again" was famously used in Ronald Reagan's 1980 presidential campaign.
  21. It’s hard to account for all the points of institutional failure for Trump to get this close to the presidency again. If Trump wins, you know what, I’m not even going to go there until it happens, if it happens.
  22. The christian nationalists scare me as much as the nazis, probably because there’s not much difference….
