  1. how much people is 1 Silsbee?
  2. anyone know how far it is to Silsbee, Texas?
  3. Oh that naughty old elf must be one mean bastard to give us these gifts so early.
  4. You dare question the integrity of Mario Cristobal's recruiting prowess???
  5. Be careful. People will never let it go if you say that guy looks just like Tre Watson.
  6. You're being quite the nay sayer. Oops i switched the letters, you should say "Neyor"
  7. You guys missed me so much.
  8. The issue is that Tech did that by creating 3rd and manageable and running the ball to convert the 3rd/4th down. Outside of the first quarter or so of the Bama game, those yards just aren't there this year. So, first down, you run the ball and you gain one. It's 2nd and 9, so you try to pass but it's incomplete. Third down, do you try to run to set up 4th and 2 or 3? You need 6 or 7 yards on a run to do that. And I just don't see that from Wyoming's offense against this D. Also, we can pressure Peasley by bringing 3 or 4 and spy him with Hill who can run him down in an instant if/when he wants to pull the football down and run. It's a game-changer.
  9. Yep. The biggest takeaway for me against Bama was that we weren't outmatched in size and speed on the field... against Bama. How many years has it been since that was the case for Texas against elite competition? 2006? With elite size and speed all over the field, a well-coached, hard-nosed Wyoming team doesn't stand a chance. Add on to that the fact that we haven't been heavily penalized or been sloppy with the football? I think it's a slaughter on Saturday. Even with an emotional "let down."
  10. I had the same reaction, Tex. Wyoming is tiny up front. They're not going to be able to handle our DL and they're not going to be able to get through our OL without bringing a significant amount of pressure. Their secondary is similarly small. Tech had wide-open receivers all night; Shough was boom or bust, though. Hell, Tech was killing them with simple WR screens, which we know Sark will spam if they're working. I don't see how this one's close. I frankly don't see how Wyoming scores a TD on this defense, absent a big time bust.
  11. Yeah, we discussed this above. I think I misdiagnosed that play as a Zone Read. Instead, I think it's actually an RPO and Gbenda is getting read there. If he plays run, Milroe pulls the ball and throws the out route.
  12. We have played all these big games for years and have fumbled them away, dropped TDs, missed FGs, etc. We finally won one. We shouldn't just give it away and say the other team lost the game.
  13. Fuck this, dude. Worthy dropped two touchdown passes. Jaylan Ford dropped an INT in the end zone. Watts dropped a pick in the end zone.
  14. This is what I thought, too, and also why I wondered if Barron may have actually bailed on #2 too early. He doesn't even touch #2 and gives him a free release up the sideline. It's all bang-bang given how quick the out route is. And obviously Barron gets a pick on the play, so who the fuck cares. But if Milroe reads it better, the #2 WR probably gets a decent gain down the sideline because the CB is outmatched.
  15. Yep. But it's nothing new. It's just repackaged old school football with nouveau window dressing. "Influence trap" was a thing way back when the Wing T was cutting edge.
  16. Sure: Doink doink doink Ughhhh Huhhhh??? Whaaaaa Yeah!!! Dot gif with Ms paint drawings.
  17. This is the CORNER route to the POST route that I'm actually looking for.
  18. And if anyone has access to All-22 film, I can do some really badass analysis with that....
  19. As always, it's tough to know what's going on without the playcall. But after watching this like 20 more times, I now think this was an RPO and the read is actually of Gbenda. Milroe is obviously reading something here. This is not a fake read. But when you watch the give after Burke's crash, Milroe's head doesn't turn. I think he's actually reading Gbenda to see if he'll bite on the run and, if so, he's going to throw the quick out. Basically Power with a backside OHIO concept? This is my attempt to draw it up: Also explains why Milroe's eyes continue to widen as the out route widens. He's internally checking to make sure he made the right read and to see whether that route was open.
  20. I was probably arguing with myself. On the first watch, I thought we had run the old Tom Herman/Devin Duvernay slot fade (i.e., what Bama did). We haven't had much success with the fade; Quinn doesn't throw it great, in my opinion. So when I re-watched and realized the play was the NCAA concept, I thought it worth noting that it was a concept and not simply a "Yo, Worthy, go deep" play.
  21. One another re-watch, this is probably counter/GT with a fake of a read and leaving Burke unblocked. Given the blocking, there's probably not a real read here, although Milroe fakes as if he's reading Burke.
  22. Great thought/comment. I wondered if the pull was designed to suck in Burke more. I.e., sometimes defensive linemen are taught to follow pulling guards. If you couple a pulling action with ZR, maybe you further incentivize the DE to give a PULL read? Also, it's probably not technically a "zone" read, since the line blocks down and the tackle pulls. It's really a Power Read (although the term "Power Read" in option parlance means something different). So for ease of discussion, it's a ZR-type look. I re-watched this a few times to see if there was no read and it was just Burke misplaying it so badly he makes it look like ZR? But I don't think so. It sure looks like Milroe is reading him.
