  1. Every time I hear this I think of the joke "What do you call someone who speaks 3 languages? Tri-lingual. What do you call someone who speaks 2 languages? Bi-lingual. What do you call someone who speaks 1 language? American."
  2. For you and me, it's catnip. But Harris's restraint was INCREDIBLE. She had the choice of chasing him down rabbit holes and firing up her converted, or staying focused on the topics she knew would appeal to the voters who she needs to drive to the polls (economy, reproductive rights, etc). It's so hard to maintain disciple but also seem fresh and unscripted. Masterclass.
  3. We spend our checks at Comet Pizza
  4. Is it even a question that Trump is a useful idiot? The Guardian article that it links to says the quote is in a podcast. Expect the audio to be in the ad that includes the other national security dudes.
  5. Harris's win drags DMP past Scott.
  6. You argue with yourself in this post. True statements, sentences 1, 5, 6. Straight up wrong: 4. Look at the number of exposures and TELL ME DEATH RATE OF tylenol or ibuprofen last year. Include anaphylactic death if you want (shouldn't because you can't predict it with first exposure, but bias to your opinion. Equating 2 with 3 and 4 creates a false equivalency. There are absolute benefits to society for driving and over-the-counter med use. There are steps that have been taken to mitigate the risk of driving and meds. There is NO REASON there should be ANY RISK OF DEATH in school attendance. YOU are bad at assessing risk. YOU need some reality-based calibration.
  7. Poor logic. Being wrong then doesn't make her wrong now.
  8. I'm sorry. I don't understand. Do you think Allred wins?
  9. This is the epitome of authentic retail politics. The unbridled, but individual, emotions of the three people she interacts with reflects the different ways I see her candidacy. Put it in an ad. Awesome, no notes.
  10. Thanks for this. We used to go there but haven't in a while for a while. Will be be going back.
  11. RFK interviewed by Chris Cuomo on Newmax is commented on by The Hill. None 12 of the people who found this would have voted for Kamala.
  12. Paradoxically, advances in technology have made gerrymandering far more effective.
  13. I agree with the sentiment but you're going to have legit First Amendment issues trying to enforce this. Hard things that are still easier: ditching the electoral college, making DC a state, getting rid of gerrymandering.
  14. What have we learned from Trump? SAY IT OVER -- AND OVER -- AND OVER and it will be true. repeat after me: "THE TARIFFS ARE TRUMP'S TAXES ON ALL OF US. But he's also going to give tax cuts to his rich billionaire friends TAX CUTS." Bizzaro Robin Hood (Bizzaro reference will resonate with GenX males, don't ask me how I know)
  15. Harris is correctly pointing out that Trumps tariffs are indirect taxes which will impact poor people more.
  16. I think Dick Cheney is a war criminal, but some people view him as a rock-rib patriot (pains me to type this). Cheney father and daughter need to cut an ad endorsing Harris with Kelly, McMaster, and Mattis walking into the frame in sequence.
  17. Do it. No downside. The Rs want to talk about election integrity. Expose the corrupt officials. This is what democracy looks like. High on their own supply.
  18. 2018 Cruz 51% Currently, Cruz is running 3% behind the generic ballot (poll above) with Trump on the ballot versus a candidate who's doing next to nothing. The math isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. I understand it's hard, and Texas is a big, diverse state. But Texas (and FL) democrats have internalized overly negative attitudes in close races. We aren't talking about WY or OK.
  19. The dude ain't dead. Stacy Abrams worked under the radar for almost a decade getting people registered. Wikler and Co lost a bunch before they won. Somebody else can also pick up the baton.
  20. Are there sitting elected national Republicans openly criticizing Trump? That would be HUGE benefit for Harris and the country. I would love it if they are starting to. Please point me to them. Hell, I'd be happy if Mattis, Kelly, or McMaster cut an ad saying they wouldn't vote for Trump (not even that they're voting for Harris). This would create a permission structure for older GOP supports to, at least, sit this election out.
  21. Speaks to the unpopularity of Cruz that he's underperforming Trump and isn't really that close to 50%. I'd be happy to see Allred win and donated significantly to support his candidacy. If (when) he loses, Tx dems will be left wondering if candidate and tactical quality were optimized this cycle.
  22. Texas is one Ben Wikler (WI) or Stacy Abrams away from been a toss up. Tyrants feed off exhaustion. Fight the power. Put up your own sign / bumper sticker / donate / phone bank. Do something.
