  1. You aren't the first to say this, but all of it rang true today. Overall, the defense looks confused and defeated. There reports that that Venables yelled at them all week. It's not the right approach if you want to teach. Very early on, the team's at a crossroad. TCU's not that good, but way better than OU.
  2. OU sucks.
  3. at least
  4. Laundry gets done early on Saturday.
  5. OU sucks
  6. Do you like the Pokes' chances in Waco?
  7. The hosts are homers but are balanced. They've picked against OU and stated that the KSt game was a pick'em. The Frogs advanced numbers are bad too. SP+ has OU -10, and FEI has OU -14. They seem to match up poorly versus OU. I believe OU's average to good at all three levels on defense, but average DL should be enough vs TCU. If OU DL doesn't win the line, TCU's skill position strength may dominate. and my assumptions would recalibrate. OU's offense has been good every game. TCU's defense doesn't match up well.
  8. The difference is between late pressure with blitzers who didn't get home and early pressure rushing 4. Against KSt, OU rushed 4 or more and got zero sacks and few pressures on Martinez, who had his best game ever, outrunning OU DBs and dropping dimes. Gabe and Teddy were comparing TCU's OL to Nebbs. IF the Frogs OL is that bad, the Sooners should be able to flush Duggan early. It'll be up to OU's LBs/safeties to clean up.
  9. Per the Ikard-Lehman podcast, the TCU OL is bad. Venables, historically and this year, has punished bad OLs. Per the same podcast, TCU's defense is trash, basically at all three levels. The Frogs are 94th in defensive FEI this week. Sooners 56-21.
  10. Avatar does NOT check out.
  11. Who knows? Desperation breeds pragmatism.
  12. OU rivals guys were alluding to a large payment throughout a podcast yesterday. 1 m/ yr is in the range the Surly NIL gurus have been bantering about for top players. This seems plausible. I hope Hicks takes care of his money, and, if things don't work out in College Station, OU may still be interested in 1-2 years.
  13. Disgusting. "Jay Jones" needs to take a break to remember this is a sport and that individuals have a chance for self determination.
  14. Hopefully Lebbeus Overton and/or Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy become available on the transfer market this spring.
  15. So a third of a way through the season, let's check some receipts: 1. Gabriel is an asset because of his experience, but the issue he's having is accuracy. Accuracy can manifest as turnover-worthy throws, but so far it's being critical 3rd down misses that have cost OU. 2. RB have been above average, not great. 3. WR/TE have been above expectations. Willis and Mims are two of OU's best players and will be day 2 draft picks on their current trajectory. Farooq and Wease have met or exceeds their preseason expectations. Stoops has been himself. We haven't seen much of the other TE/WR. 4. OL has been hit and miss. They have started slow each game and improved within games and between games. If they continue to improve, this could be a good group as the season progresses. Hopefully, several of them return next year (Anton Harrison could leave, but could be dominant in 2023). 5. The DL looked ok vs inferior teams, and then were JAGs vs a tough running scheme (KSt) who has excellent running personnel. 6. Same as the DL, LB looked good vs poor offenses, and KSt had them confused, frustrated, and exhausted. DeShaun White needs to move back to LB forming a three man rotation with Stutsman and Ugwoegbu. The "cheetah" spacebacker guy can be filled by Kanak/Harrington. 7. DBs were terrible vs the run and pass vs KSt, but this group has been more aggressive and appears to be much better coached this year in general.
  16. This must be a euphemism
  17. I agree. As an OU fan, I understand the attraction is stealing a player with UT connections. But Vasek would, in my estimation, be the weakest of OU's DL takes so far this year.
  18. Injuries are a big part of the post-Bama hangover. Sorry.
  19. Really knew ball. Sounded like he played a fun game and enjoyed it too. Had a young family. Buy disability and life insurance.
  20. I had end zone seats for that game. One of my last in person college football games.
  21. Frost's supposedly excellent at run game schemes. With several million in the bank, it would be a cool way to chill and spend a couple of years. Keep him away from the defense, special teams, and game day decision-making.
  22. Skeletons playing defense is part of the problem.
  23. 100% To get the snaps he's gotten, Gray must be a better blocker or something because Major is better at all the obvious stuff (running/catching).
  24. Not well enough
  25. OL was quite terrible vs UTEP too.
