Was at a small-town festival day parade this morning. You know the type; local and state candidates for office, a high school band, Shriners doing their thing in little cars.
Some heat and air business had a entry in the parade. As it was passing by, on the back of their trailer, a display. Had absolutely nothing to do with heat and air.
A portrait of Charlie Kirk.
People were cheering. My wife leaned to me and said that was one business we will never use.
TCU had enough petty cash on hand.
OSU owes Gundy $15 million outright if they fire him. The amount doesn't decrease until sometime in 2027.
In other words, they could fire him and pay up. Or, maybe negotiate something lower in exchange for his "retirement" this winter.
I'm not sure exactly what firing Gundy in the coming days would prove at this point. Plus, you have the AD situation in Stillwater that is unsettled. The current AD is working under no contract, so what is the incentive for him to do it now; he's not going to get to choose the successor in the off-season.
At best, an interim might get them 1-2 conference wins.
Bump.
Today (Sept 17) is the 30th anniversary of Who Shot Mr. Burns, Part 2. Here's a four part oral history of the creation of the two episodes, by the writers, animators, Matt Groening and others.
