  1. Washington is going to be awesome. Lots of handwringing about the TE position for nothing.
  2. Yep yep yep. They are done as a hegemon and NIL fucked them up the ass. They are the worst of the "just cheaters" in the last 15 years in my opinion. Good for them for making it happen when they had that competitive advantage unlike retarded younger brother in college station, but fuck those guys so fucking hard. Will be good to show them how our ass tastes in October at their crib. obnoxious room temperature IQ dipshits from every interaction IRL and online I've had with those shit eating sister fucking morons. In a week we are going to do the same analysis on Ohio State as all their guys go pro, they are polishing their trophy, they don't have a base to make going nuts in the transfer portal make any sense to them (hell I'd tell Downs thanks for the memories- go be awesome somewhere else if he was my only returner on defense) Day might be out the door- you know the clown show that is OU and aggy, and Texas will have a schedule next year that while having some brand names on it is in fact, charmin soft.
  3. That makes me sad and I wish he would have transferred so I can point and laugh and that can stand as an object lesson for all time.
  4. Or Lake Charles is an easy 2 our drive for me.
  5. 86 and 3rd in AL and first in the AL in the over under. I’m hammering over and division winner.
  6. I love Bobby but he’s doing that silly Bobby thing where he sits down to pee. “Look guys, I think a minimum of 8 longhorns get drafted this year”. uh, thanks Bobby. Gerry had 12 or 13 with broughton as the differential between the 2 numbers. He’s getting drafted folks.
  7. Officially? No. He's coming back though per everything I've heard/read/seen.
  8. All this is true. Teams draft QB's higher than they should b/c it's so important to success in the nfl and this year is a real tallest midget competition at QB.
  9. It's not about Quinn in that scenario I'm just saying I wouldn't take any of these guys and if I absolutely had to take a QB I'd trade down from 1-3 or 4 and pick up draft capital to have me ready to take Sanders, then I'd trade down again to pick up more capital to someone who wanted him and if an owner put a gun to my head I'd rather have the 3rd best guy at the ass end of the 1st round with all the extra picks from the 2 trade downs than anyone else. I think Quinn is probably the 3rd QB gone, but I wouldn't take him unless I was forced to. I just HATE this QB draft all the way around.
  10. Nothing you are saying is wrong. When I say I'm looking into the future and could be wrong on this, but I doubt it- I'm not saying I'm never wrong, or even merely wrong, what I'm saying is that I think, shit not falling apart, it's more likely than not that Texas has the most talented roster in the country going into the 2025 season. Could that change? Of course. But I doubt it. I think the roster is better May 1 than it is today, and I think today it's better than anyone else's. Could that change? Sure. What I'm saying is that I know the duck is paddling hard under water (and damn do I appreciate it) and I'm speculating that it continues to go down that way and we are in really good shape. If I'm speculating on the future (which is the whole point of this thread) I bet we don't lose anyone on the two deep after spring ball and we add at least 1 impact level all conference player (hopefully at WR- maybe at CB) and 2 or 3 depth pieces (likely interior DL or maybe one there, a kicker and a TE if Washington isn't the dude I think/expect him to be). Anyone mocking concerns over NIL should be instead mocked and ridiculed b/c they clearly are dipshits. The counterfactual shit you talk about is fascinating. I was having almost this exact same conversation with my wife (over a political subject so I won't bring it up) last night over cocktails as we were talking about how one outcome doesn't have to be good in the real world to be a good decision b/c it might have prevented another worse option in it's place. End of the day we have 3 AA's (maybe 4) either returning (Taafe & Hill) or almost certain to be if healthy (Simmons) on Defense, plus another 4 or 5 2026 draft picks beyond those 3 (likely) in Burke, Moore (if he's back), Manny, Guilbeu, and a shit ton of really talented freshmen from the #1 class. On Offense it's the Vegas odds favorite for the Heisman at QB, Wingo who should be a hoss, plus whatever other talent we can pick up in the portal, and a bunch of 5 star WR frosh coming in and what looks like a decent OL that will be a step back but still pretty solid. There are lots of people on this site that project doom and gloom and negativity onto everything, or act like if we don't have a returning AA at every position coming back we suck, without looking at the context of a very manageable schedule and a decided talent advantage over almost everyone on the schedule, and an experience edge on the 2 teams we don't have a decided talent advantage over in GA and OSU. But yeah- if Sark goes pro or some shit blows up in the locker room than I'm wrong and I will be very very sad. But, I'm on a 3 year heater of saying the arrow is pointed directly up, the nay sayers are wrong etc and I'm going to go ahead and continue to bet that trend. None of this is saying anything you are saying is wrong and I enjoyed reading that- I'm just fleshing out what I mean when I say "I doubt I'm wrong" and recoginizing that there is shit that could derail it but I'm betting against that shit happening.
  11. I think I'd rather have Quinn at 33 (but I'd trade up to 32) plus the draft capital I got from trading down with whoever than just take Ward #1. That doesn't seem like a 1.1 guy to me, seems like a force. And I say that as a guy who wouldn't have Quinn on my draft board, probably, such is my stay away factor from Ward at 1.1.
  12. No/ they have 5 days from their game Monday for portal AND draft declarations. Also- not super likely but if he was the only guy slated to return on defense I wonder if he’d be interested in transferring. He already left Bama. I wouldn’t want to be the sole survivor in my contract year were I him.
  13. My bet is he goes before that. I’d guess first round more likely than 75 or later.
  14. True. But with all the attention we get it would be shocking if someone told the school to put them in today and we didn’t hear about it until Friday.
  15. The rational play would be to greenlight and fast track all rebuilding but that's not in CA nature, so who the hell knows.
  16. I'm looking into the future and could be wrong, but I doubt it. Our roster will be better in August than it is today and Ohio State, who was the only team better than us, gets decimated on defense and doesn't have special players at all 3 levels returning like we do, and they damn sure don't have Arch Manning ready to be QB1. There isn't even anyone in the portal or conceivably in the portal at QB that changes that calculation. Maybe they spend 30M again, but my guess would be that they enjoy the national title, develop, and keep their powder dry for 2026 somewhat and clean up in high school recruiting rather than going apeshit in spring portal. I wouldn't want to be against them on a high school recruit if that's the tactic they take. If I'm wrong we are a top 5 team coming into next year at worst- which was essentially where we started the year this year and where we ended the year after everything was said and done on the field.
  17. I'm baking the healthy and looking awesome throwing against air. I wouldn't personally draft him b/c I don't think he can ever stay healthy over a full nfl season (amongst some other issues) but yeah- I think his pro days and combine go really well for him, QB's get overdrafted, Milroe at 3rd best in the draft is absurd etc etc so that would militate toward top 2 rounds for Quinn when all is said and done. If he's early 2nd round I'd not be surprised to see a team trade up to end of the first to get the 5th year in case he's a hit. NFL teams are desperate for good QB's and if I didn't have one I'd draft one every single year high until I did have one. That seems to be the new trend in some places. Who knows.
  18. 1- we will be better if Arch is better, and I think he will be 2- you rightly point out everyone else will be worse. Right now one site has us as the betting favorites to win the national title and another site has us as #3. I expect, when it all shakes out we will enter the season in August as no worse than 2 to win it all but I would guess 1. We will have the most talented roster going into the 2025 season in CFB, the same way Ohio State held that going into 2024, and the schedule sets up that we should view anything worse than 10-2 as an incredible disappointment. Could we lose at Ohio State or Georgia? Sure. But we will have the better roster both places. Any other loss on that schedule (OU sucks- Florida is the next best team and they are full of meh- arky and aggy suck, Kentucky and MSST- gimme a fucking break- we ain't losing those games- ditto Vandy) will be highly disappointing. 10-2 Texas playing in the SEC title game with Arch Manning at QB is definitely a playoff team, and by the end of the year we ain't young anywhere anymore. Terrible injury luck obviously changes the calculus.
  19. I've lived a boring but content life and I'm now getting old.
  20. So I've lost 130 pounds after my bariatic surgery. You've seen the before and after. It's striking and I'm very very healthy now. My two biggest regrets in life are not ever having done the 72 OZ steak challenge in Amarillo or wherever that is, and never being able to eat a McRib the way god made it with the bun again as bread makes me want to puke.
  21. Welcome to the party pal.
  22. Arm length, right?
  23. I’m much smarter because I spend a lot of time getting into it with rando’s on message boards 😀
  24. 3 QB's in the first 2 rounds if I counted that right, Milroe being third QB. I will bet the over on that as QB's tend to get overdrafted. Could see Quinn with a good offseason going in the first two rounds (I wouldn't take him at all and I like Quinn). I also would have zero part of taking Milroe, that seems dumb. Other than Quinn I can't think of any other horns (maybe Bond if he runs a smoking 40 time) that I think have much of a chance of going in the first 2 rounds.
  25. We had our guy for a generation and it all went to shit. Still sad.
