  1. Has he won like 5 or 6 Olympic and world gold medals and been the best player on his team every time?
  2. Those losses would all be to playoff teams (except maybe LSU- but that will be very borderline). Their wins would be Miami, Texas A&M UCF, Tennessee, Kentucky and Old Miss. I will bet at the end of the year very very very few teams will have all losses be to playoff teams and also have 6 wins over P4 teams. That's a fucking awesome resume whether or not dumb dumbs can get past 8-4 bro. If they get pantsed in all 4 losses maybe not- but if they look half way competitive they ought to be in. BTW- they aren't going 8-4 because they aren't that good and that schedule is insane. but if they did they would be worthy.
  3. Huge miss on jobs report. Only 124k. Stop me if you r heard this before but prior months were both revised down. MBs up 42 points already. About 200 points in the last 10 days. And here we go! Rates definitely coming down… 10 year down to 3.82 for @UTPhil2006
  4. Dusty wanted Jake (and Chas) to fail. He loved Miles straw. Click had to pull off an astros money ball deal and trade him because the damn 🦖 wouldn’t listen to reason. so, Jake’s first 3 AB’s were against closers with two outs in the 9th. What a petty dipshit Dusty was.
  5. I don’t think they are going to but if Florida goes 8-4 they absolutely should be in the playoffs.
  6. Yeah- and not just that but didn’t he take a pretty shitty 2010 team at the worlds that nobody thought much of and single handedly destroy everyone he played against? I’m getting old but that seems like it happened, right?
  7. KD is the greatest player in the history of Fiba/the Olympics right? Like probably not particularly close? If hes still alive and upright he needs to play in 28 back on home soil. It would be an injustice to what he’s meant to team USA if he wasn’t on that squad.
  8. Nah. There’s no upside for anyone to play them. They aren’t great or anything but it’s no upside if you win and it’s a lose able game with downside. I’m not saying that what you said doesn’t happen, I’m saying nobody gives a shit about that in a scheduling context.
  9. We talked on our podcast and crunched some numbers about a month ago and it’s uncanny- like every time they give up runs we lose- and that’s just not normal. You’d probably expect to win about 40 or 50% if the games your leverage guy gives up a run and we were running like 15% or something. lots of times a set up man comes in with a 2 run lead, gives up 1, no big deal. Or they tie it in the top and we go ahead in the bottom. Nope. part of it has been when they give up runs many times it’s multiple. If your guy is going to have a 4.5 era you want him to give up a run every other game and that’s a lot more likely to win than 8 perfect, 3 runs and 2 runs in 10 games.
  10. It’s absolutely fine to flip the games from home to road next year in the SEC schedule but if we don’t go to permanent 9 games with 3 rivals by 2026 I think we should burn shit down. Or at least get a billboard near the conference office in Birmingham or Atlanta or wherever the hell the hayseeds and yokels congregate.
  11. I said it two weeks ago. Assume he’s done for the year and celebrate if we see him in September
  12. They would send us mayo if we sent them Framber I bet. Just saying.
  13. Yikes. I was dreaming of sending him out to the orioles while paying his whole salary and getting something sexy back.
  14. I had 91 as a stretch goal before the dodgers series. Didn’t have us going 1-2 to the pirates.
  15. With that schedule? 18-10 would indicate odds on favorites going into playoffs. That’s like a 105 win pace against really good teams.
  16. I’d take 15-13 right now if offered, lock it in and look to finish strong in September if we can finally get healthy. Sweeping Texas would also be nice. If we can go 14-14 or better and sweep then that should just about eliminate them I’d guess.
  17. Every 6 months if we are lucky. Of course if you are doing it every 6 months you are probably paying all borrowers costs and making a commission of less than 1% (no complaints I’m grateful) of the loan amount versus 3% of the sales price, so, yeah, it still probably sits on your favor unless and until refis are 70+ percent of the market.
  18. Oh I mean if the money saved wasn’t going to be lit on fire it would have been much more helpful. For sure.
  19. I love Correa. We probably handled that one right with Pena.
  20. 2023 FA Class Aaron Judge- awesome so far- way too many years on it. Trae Turner- $27M a year for a lot of years- 2.3 WAR in year 1, that won't age well Carlos Correa- Signed a 1 year 30M deal or whatever after 2022 and was hot garbage in 23. Bounced back this year but that doesn't count b/c he opted out after being shitty in 23 Xander Bogaerts- 25M per for like 10 or 12 years. 4.4 War last year- 0.8 War this year- would you want to be on the hook for the next 200+ M of that contract? Dansby Sawanson- 40M so far- 5.8 War- this one might work out- was only a 7/175 as I recall Brandon Nimmo- 8/162- 6.5 War so far- trending to 8 for first two years- they might get value out of this one- depending on if you believe it is $8M per War or 10M per war Jose Abreu- Nope Carlos Rodon- Ha. Haha, Hahaha Chris Bassitt- 3 for 63. So far he's at 3.2 WAR- half way through- not a disaster Degrom- 5/185. I think he's pitched 17 innings so far in the first 2 years of the deal Wilson Contreras- I like this deal. The Cardinals pitchers had a mutiny last year and refused to pitch to him. Things seem to be on track this year? 5/87. I was pounding the table to sign him. Figured LF//1B/DH and back up catcher with Yainer. Probably make value Clayton Kershaw- Nope- hurt- more playoff suck Justin Turner- 1 year contract- he outperformed it Nathan Evoldi- 2/34 with a 25 vesting option. Fucking Rangers with the best signing of the offseason JUstin Verlander- Nope Michael Brantley- Nope Max Scerzer- nope Wade Miley- Nope Kevin Kiermaier- good deal Jsoh Bell- Cut Brandon belt- really good 1 year signing Greinke- Nope Bellinger- good deal on 1 year Nobody did as poorly as us. Not even close. It wasn't quite as bad as I remembered- but there are only a couple deals that are going to pencil out and some of the ones that were 8, 10, 12 years that look fine now are going to suck on the backend and be pretty underwater overall.
  21. Just a reminder I was apoplectic about two of those 3 signings when they happened. Loved the Abreu signing so I nailed that one. it wasn’t just us by the way. Like 80% of that free agent class ended up being a disaster.
  22. Bout to be refi season boys. For those that bought in the last 12-18 months anyway.
  23. Maybe 50 basis points in September if we get a weak jobs number and continued easing in inflation.
