  1. I don’t think he said sark was a drunk. I think he said sark isn’t a teetotaler like some I think have heard. You don’t have to be plugged in at all to hear this- I’ve heard it from 3 or 4 different people (and always as- he isn’t a teetotaler but it isn’t a problem in his life).
  2. Chas isn’t done with the stros. He has options left. They will send him to the minors and try it again next year.
  3. We talk about the injuries, good pitching and bad hitting and a bit of a re-set for division lead. And it gets grim when I make my prediction for the week.
  4. 4 in the loss column dudes. I predicted 2-5 this week. Hope like hell I’m wrong.
  5. It feels like whitcomb should play every day until he conclusively proves he shouldn’t. He seems hitterish to me right now.
  6. Jokes on you. Text was actually 50 words long but Espada is only barely literate.
  7. Not Whitley. probably Salazar and Martinez. It would be criminally insane with how much you Ph and DH and play at 1B your catchers not to have a new one up when rosters expand.
  8. Gots to be loyalty points. And if anyone donates to longhorn foundation now before maxing out loyalty points allowable with Texas One they should be kicked in the balls.
  9. So was what happened yesterday before singleton fucked it up.
  10. I predicted 5-2 for the week on pod. Andrew did 3-4. He was right but holy shit this was a 5-2 week just begging to be executed on. Just a coupe gross losses. We didn’t lose a game to Seattle for the week, but… they have a whole hell of a lot of A’s and angels coming up while we go Philly, KC, Cincinatti and Arizona the next two weeks. Do not love that.
  11. I mean, maybe his abject laziness was all part of Gods plan.
  12. It was a great game ruined by that fat piece of shit Singleton. Fucker.
  13. Winning has a halo affect for guys that are fungible. That probably makes sense too
  14. Yes and yes. Fear is he ends up in CF. Desire is SS or 3B.
  15. Note- not receiving yards- yards from scrimmage. So WR running yards count too.
  16. Search function on here is awful. I set the over under at 8.5 and bet over. People scoffed. I said that the following could get drafted (if they went) Whittington, Watts, Crawford, Thompson and Robinson. People focused on me saying Crawford could get drafted as a special teams guy because one team like him as an afterthought with me saying something like “hurr durr he’s guaranteed 2nd day guy”. This went back and forth over a stupid number of pages when my main point was “bet the over on 8.5 or 9.5 or whatever the bell it was.
  17. My favorite time of the year. I started the game week thread and we move on from this cock tease of a thread to the normal rhythms of college football. Let us go ahead and go 16-0 and win the first SEC title and first real and legitimate (structurally) college football title ever. 16-1 guarantees a title (only way we would play 17 would be to lose the sec title but win the national title), and 15-1 if we lose a regular season game won’t displease me either as both guarantee a title. What a time to be alive.
  18. I’m proud to sponsor this board. I’m a mortgage guy and every time we do a loan on Surly we give back to the community. We also do other stuff to give back- like giving away free money to the weekly and season winners of this contest. If you bought a home in the last 2 years DM me- interest rates are going down and we can save you money. If you are looking to buy a house now call me. We are doing some cool shit, rates are dropping and qualified surly buyers get a free 1 point buy down on their rate for the first year. Commercial over. Remember 2 ways to win for sure and potentially 3 winners: closest to the final score, closest to the bonus question or funnest/wittiest/best comment made about how the game is going to go down. That might not be given away every week, but if we have good comments it will be. Texas 55 Colorado State 14 Bonus pick- Yards from scrimmage from the WR room: 264. Texas wins an easy game where we come out and establish dominance in all phases. Quinn throws for 300 plus through 3 quarters, Arch comes in and leads the team to a 4the quarter scoring drive. The defense gets after the QB with 3 or 4 sacks and the secondary looks good. They throw the ball around a lot, roll up 300 yards through the air, give some people things to hand wring about that ignore the score was never close, the average per completion is relatively low and we were never really threatened. Special teams scores a TD.
  19. I have nothing unique or specific to say about Colorado State. I have no opinion on them. All I know about is what I read in @Scipio’s preview- thinking Texas football Linked here: https://sites.google.com/view/the-2023-burnt-orange-bible/home if you haven’t bought it already do so- it’s awesome and he previews every opponent in addition to awesome writing on Texas football. I do have lots of opinions on this year’s this team and this program. 1) Sark is the man. I said it before almost everyone else did- when he nailed the off-season after 5-7. I strongly suspected he would be good. When we started year 2 by playing the Alabama dynasty with a Heisman trophy winner like a peer I knew he would be good. After year 3 there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind. The only question imo is whether he maximizes his decade run like Royal with multiple championships, or if he’s snake bit like Mack brown and doesn’t fill the trophy case like be should. Because we are going to rip off double digit wins, be a playoff perennial team and get a metric shit ton of kids drafted between here and there. 2) This team is going to be awesome. I know we had 11 guys drafted last year. I set the over under at 9.5 and took the over and @Bevoand a couple other people mocked me. There was no mocking come draft day. This team is more talented at more important places. I’d setting the O/U at 13.5 and taking the over. It’s possible that we have every single starting offensive player drafted off this team. I wouldn’t expect it but I’d actually suspect 7 or 8. And, the defense just got done outplaying the offense in camp. Think about that. 3) the program is overall in great shape and the SEC move is going to be fun. I love that we have games with Michigan and Ohio State on the schedule. I’m going to be pissed off if these slack jawed yokels we share a conference with continue to be pussies and insist on an 8 game schedule. A 9 game SEC schedule, mixed with a blue blood, a decent regional team and a pay for play patsy is absolute football nirvana. Like- forget the good old days we’ve never had it this good as college football fans. Texas won’t be the game that every program circles for jihad, but we will be among more peers (such that we have any) and I expect us to be running shit in short order. Just like we have everywhere else we’ve been. But hopefully with more football titles than in the big 12. I am so happy for game week to be back. Thoughts about the season, state of the program, Colorado State or whatever else you want to talk about leading up to week 1 go here.
  20. Whitcomb. He looks a little hitter-ish right now.
  21. Disgusting baseball there fat man.
  22. He will fit right in with the other mental deficients.
  23. No. Bet not many in the history of baseball.
  24. Yeah. As soon as Presley gets back (hell maybe when Neris gets here) he needs to go on the shelf. Whitley is the answer to this conundrum.
  25. Better to just fix 1B and lf for sure and let it ride at CF and figure one of the kids can hold down 3B if we actually fix LF and 3B. Jake and whoever is the guy at 3B is fine hitting 8 and 9 (and Pena 7) if you get legit bats for the easy offensive positions.
