  1. That was similar to my experience seeing Tedesci/Trucks a few years ago. I thought he was a great slide player, but a little formulaic and I was fairly bored with it by the end of the set. The mix was not aweful, but uninspiring to say the least. That said, a close friend saw the same show in the same room the following night and said he doubted my musical taste with that take. All I can think is either he was sitting in an area with better acoustics or they tweaked the mix the 2nd night.
  2. I made this one way harder than it needed to be. Wordle 469 6/6* [emoji834]🟨[emoji834][emoji834]🟩 🟨[emoji834][emoji834]🟨🟩 [emoji834]🟨🟩[emoji834]🟩 🟩[emoji834]🟩[emoji834]🟩 🟩[emoji834]🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  3. Looks like one poster decided to come and shit all over the best thread on the board by doing exactly the opposite of what makes it the best thread on the board. Go away, dude. You can like what you like without shitting on what another guy likes.

  5. If thats you're beef, I can tell from a mile away that a 4 way switch is never at a true 90* angle to the body when its in either of its 2 center positions. Just looks wrong to see it some where between straight up and all the way forward. At least with a couple extra screws I can worry less about my sweat getting inside the electronics.
  6. The issue is, on mine anyway, the both series is all the way forward. So if I want to play the neck pickup only, which is glorious in a Tele if you have a decent pickup there, you have to carefully click 3 forward or go full forward then click one back. Inwant to just flip it forward and dig in. Having the switch in the volume knob, you get the regular 3 way switch and the center position is series or parallel based on the vol knob switch. Just a cleaner design imo. As the 5 hole pickguard purist, im kinda shocked that you're a 4 position switch proponent. I would think that would be heresy.
  7. I put the 4 way switch on the partscaster w the bigsby i keep in Texas. I dont care for it. I dont really use the added position and it makes it more complicated finding the positions I do use on the fly. Front, middle, back. Done. Thats the way it should be. My American Deluxe has the pushbutton in the Volume knob Celery mentioned. Much better. At least its out of the way.

  13. I'm opposite, its easier to play guitar w a pick and bass with fingers
  14. I only care for for signature picks if they've been properly relic'd.
  15. I go back and forth. Especially on acoustic. I'll strum with tharmt soft edge, then rotate to the pointing end when I want to pick out some notes.

  17. I got the Rick Bass so naturly wanted to play some Moorhead stuff and quickly learned that you can't sound like Lemmybif your not using a pick. Then I was fucking around with the UFO song Doctor, Doctor with my fingers, but then when I grabbed the pick it worked better. Cliff Williams played with a pick on every AC/DC track. Ill remain a finger player primarily, but a pick does something you cant get out of your fingertips and is a good tool to have in the arsenal.
  18. Meh, whatever works for you. I use these orange Star picks on acoustic and yellow Tortex on electric. Im trying to learn playing bass w a pick. In The Koffs our guitar player uses a Lee press on nail, one on his thumb one on his index finger. It works for him. Bass face! Everybody loved the Rick Bass and it played like butter, sounded like thunder, and looked even better. Im addicted.
  19. All these Eagles and Birdies. I struggled with this one. Wordle 463 5/6* [emoji834]🟨[emoji834][emoji834][emoji834] 🟨[emoji834]🟨🟩[emoji834] 🟨[emoji834][emoji834]🟩🟨 🟩[emoji834][emoji834]🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  20. You usually run a single coil pickup through 250k pots and a humbucker through 500k pots. I would think that unless there's some sort of resistor wizardry in the circuit, you're forced to live with either an extremely bright single coil or very muddy humbucker.
  21. Next weekend is one if the best annual events in San Francisco. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festiful. 3 days of free live music across 6 stages in Golden Gate Park, a gift to the city from a dead venture capitalist who funded it indefinitely in his will. I got my Friday lined up, bummed that they put Charlie Crocket and Drive By Truckers on at the same time, but ive been trying to see Charlie Crocket since my sister gifted me his album a few years ago. No idea Saturday other than closing out with Steve Earl.
  22. I over thought it. Fuck Wordle 462 5/6* [emoji834]🟨[emoji834][emoji834]🟩 🟨🟩🟩[emoji834]🟩 [emoji834]🟩🟩🟩🟩 [emoji834]🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  23. Not mine. They are beautiful guitars and I'm sure they play better than they look. Knock yourselves out. I've just never had the urge to own one. Then again, I'm not a dentist. Corrected
