1. TBH, I haven't played anything but Koffs and Dirty Years stuff on it. Thats what its intended for and I needed to see 8f I can don't without that big pickup cover thing getting in the way. With that Rick-o-Sound thing, wonder if I can run 2 amp heads into one cab? I bet I could.
2. Maple neck through, and this one is Walnut glues on either side for the body. I think all the others are Maple/Maple. Its got stereo out. Mono sends both pickups to the amp as usual, but if you plug in 2 cables, 1 pickup goes to each. I dont know if ill ever get that complicated with it. Theoretically, you can send each pickup through a different effects chain. As much as I love the simplicity of a P-Bass, this is not that.
3. Say hi to our new bass! I have to say, the guy at my local Guitar Center who shares my name really hooked me up.

9. Itsthe 50w version. Its super light, compact, and easy to carry. Ch1 and 2 share controls, with split shafts for Vol and Gain. Ch3 is a beast. I played some blues through the cleans and was actually surprises how well it responded. I found my Rock and Roll sound on Ch2 with the gain turned way down and the shared presence up. Ch3 is perfect for that concept piece I've written and I think we are about to record. Its got an effects loop, midi in, even a fucking headphone jack. It does everything. I need to bring my cab home from our studio. I was in the vip room with it turned so low we could talk over it and it sounded great, then got plenty loud when I turned it up. I paid about half of what i was expecting to pay for a new amp head I'm gonna be selling a bunch of amps. Cleaning house.
10. Depends what you're measuring stick is. Geddy's a very talented bass player, but nobody was more Rock and Roll than Lemmy.
11. Thats what I was coming to post tbone.
12. Just walked out of Guitar Center w my new amp head. 5150III EL34. They had a used one at a very fair price. They had my exact 1960a cab to try it through.. I can get great tones out of it at conversation levels and I can use all 3 channels. Ill keep my Marshall 1987x for when I can get super loud. More to follow on the Rickenbass.
13. One of the things I love about Crazy on You is that that acoustic from the intro never leaves. It carries everything all the way through. Some great bass lines too. I'm glad we seem to have a concensus on Heart. VH1 did a great Behind the Music on them back in the day. Its probably out there somewhere.
14. Thats the same price the local GC quoted me on the one they have. I might try to sneak down there today and check it out. I think the walnut is the best looking offering, but in worried that there's not enough contrast between the fretmarkers and maple fingerboard. I want to play one before buying. It does have black side dots, so its probably fine.
15. I've sold several guitars recently and was going to reinvest some of the proceeds and surprise you guys with this bass. Sweetwater says they won't have any until May of 2023. My local Guitar Center shows one in stock, but Reverb's sales history says they are going for about double what they were 2 years ago. I dont know that I want to buy during a sellers market. I also saw yesterday that the Marshall head I bought a few years ago now sell for more than double what I paid. It may be time to see what I have to unload. Seems like a good time to be selling.
16. I celebrate the entire catalog. Most of it anyway.

18. You're not wrong. That venue Winters that we played and I love actually has a little studio apartment upstairs that bands can use, but its reserved for the touring band if there is one. Its just a sectional somebody can nap on, but there's a shitter and a shower thats key. There's also a fridge so you can drink cheap byob beers instead of buying them at the bar. He throws samples vendors leave behind in there for them. Good venue and the owner is really about supporting bands and live music. In fact, when it came to light that his bar tender had paid all the money to the opening band who none of us knew, he paid us out of his own pocket.
19. I just have one of those old brown, folding metal chairs.
20. I always stay to support whoever plays after us. I was happy playing 1st the other night because i was intimidated by the other 2 bands on the bill. Both metal bands full of well known local musicians. Thats why I brought the big orange Gretsch, i was trying to present as not that. Turns out I needed not to be concerned. Vary Mary packed the room, and it was half empty by the time the headliner went on. In fact, i kind got into with the stage manager because id told him we'd go on at 8:30 sharp as he requested. At 8:25 the room was half empty. I look outside and there's a line down the street of our people and I learned they just opened the doors at 8:20. I told him we needed more time and he said he could give me 5 mins or he'd get i trouble w his boss. I said to tell the boss to open the doors sooner and he wouldn't have that problem, im not asking my friends to pay $12 a head to get in only to play while they're still in line. I dont think they're used to an opening band who can draw. The biggest compliment I got was later that night when the same guy apologized for having to be the bad guy and complemented our sound and said SF needs more bands like us. Oh, and I like playing 1st or 2nd. It exposes you to the other bands audiences. When you go last, they've often left.
21. Paul Wesley Tried quoting your post but it wouldnt format right. That Onion article hit a little close to home! Last 2 shows we did indeed each get 2 drink tickets.
