  3. I just turned around my office / music room / guest bedroom. Moved the mixer near my work desk, the drums & amps to the opposite wall, and had a Murphy bed installed. I have a little shuffling left to do, but the room's big enough to serve as small venue and we can record here. I think im gonna host a house party here in August.

  7. Be careful. Dave Murray is an extremely under-appreciated player. He gets lost in the crowd that is Iron Maiden, but he is the glue and the glitter in that band. If you ever have the chance, get a floor ticket and position yourself stage right.

  10. Inwas just busting you're ball Chad. In the 80's I had my dream Carvin all spec'd out from the cqtalon page in the back of Guitar - for the practicing musician. I just never could pull the money together to actually order it.
  11. They were super out of style in the 80's!
  12. I think the point was that Fender is doing a better job of marketing their instruments to younger people, with things like getting them into the hands of the people they are watching on YouTube. While Gibson guitars seem like boomer guitars to the kids because of how they are marketed. Not necessarily that Fenders are better instruments. She has some good points.
  13. I've never believed in time travel because if it does happen in the future, that means it's already happened and a least one guy would've blown it by now. Now I'm convinced its real and they came back in the 80s to warn us with the Back to the Future trilogy. They even modeled the villian on the orange clown. I like to think that right now Biff has the DeLorean and hope McFly's gonna save us soon. Its far fetched, but it helps me sleep at night. That, or Clarence is showing me what the world would be like if I had never been born. I hope he gets his wings.

  15. I feel like I got through to one today, even if just a little bit. Text exchange I had tonight with a friend who's down that Fox/talk radio hole, just after he got home from a semi-heated conversation we had as the hearings began. I'm Shawn...
  16. Finally watched. I laughed. She brings up some good points, especially regarding marketing. Gibbon probably should hire her.
  17. If anybody has plans on attending Psycho Las Vegas in August, one of my bands, "The Koffs", took the absolute last band on bill spot for the "Psycho Swim" pool party the day before. So we get to kick the whole thing off! Come say hi.

  19. I dont know yet, hopefully not too long. So far I've learned about 12 of the songs and they are each under 2:00. This summer is turning into a whirlwind.
  20. Its official! We are the absolute bottom of the bill of the pre-show party. I love it. I guess that means we go on 1st! If you ain't first...!
  21. Ya, I Googled him after the show. Wow. He's done everything, including Thriller. Really fun show last night.
  22. They did that one! He really caught my eye when I saw him do a solo, acoustic version of "Who Can It Be Now" on the youtubes several years back. For me, he was as central to the show as Ringo last night. 2 things. 1) At one point he said he's been asked if songwriting was a worthwhile endeavor - he replied, "I wrote this one in 30 minutes and have lived off it for 40 years, so yes". Then went into "Land Down Under". 2) Right before Overkill i went up to the stage directly in front of him and he pointed at me and said hi! I moved back to my seat at the direction of security just after, but it was a cool moment. Steve Lukather really hit my radar last night. Ive always liked the Toto hits, but never realized what a player he is. Phenominal. He commented that it was new playing those songs without keys since Edger was out, but they sounded just as great stripped down.
  23. Colin Hay, Hamish Stewart,, Warren Hamm. There were minus keys for this show and said Edgar Winter had tested positive for COVID. All is gear was set up on stage, but vacant. Colin Hay was incredible.

  25. I was lucky to get a last minute ticket to see Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band at the Beacon Theater last night. Really fun show, great band.
