  1. Was going to have a relaxing Sunday. Now realize I haven’t even finished editing my Behold, My Views! presentation for my kids this evening.
  2. What does “the next Florida” mean in this context?
  3. A lot of ways to boost your income that doesn’t involve walking in front on thousands of people with the intention of using your celebrity to fleece them.
  4. It makes me pretty proud of the political system that the debate caused a grassroots effort to get Biden out. They tried to say no, we can fix it for a week or two. We said you can't. And they actually listened. Something unprecedented in the 240 years of doing this.
  5. Biden was the right guy in 2020 because he was able to disappear into the background and have the election be just about Trump. You can't do that a second time when Trump's presidency is 4 years in the past. You have to make yourself an affirmative offering to the people.
  6. That’s what they say, and I believe it. It feels like there would be more people that are absolutely no on Democrats but don’t love voting for Trump so they go to RFK. That probably happens more than people that are absolutely no on a black woman so they go to RFK. Both real, but former seems bigger.
  7. Wagon must have lost a wheel. Or they lacked ambition one
  8. The DEI thing is interesting to me because it is a framing thing that we don't talk about much. I think her gender/race did play a fairly significant part in her selection for VP. The thing is, every single other person for higher office (maybe other than Barack) can say the same. People are selected because they are white. People are selected because they are men. Those were seen as qualifiers up until now. It's just that now a qualifier was seen as the opposite. I think Obama might be the one where he can say he was chosen despite his race -- although of course he still has the gender thing.
  9. This is the point of the 'weird' push: there is no obligation to engage with any of this like it is in good faith. No one needs any of this explained to them. It is just the trollish world we have devolved to. Instead of pretending like it is even worth one sentence of elaboration, just remind them
  10. If we get to hear the word octaroon in a live debate, this whole path our country is on will be worth it.
  11. That dude was my favorite because I saw some writeups pointing out that the confederates were held over 4 miles out from the capitol in the civil war, so this is actually the farthest the south got. dude made history!
  12. i will say this: a person that is that ignorant of the cause he supports can at least be a little forgiven for supporting it, i suppose.
