  1. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/18/us/targeting-biden-catholic-bishops-advance-controversial-communion-plan.html In other news, religions reaffirm the decisions of tens of millions to leave organized religion in recent years. I applaud this brave move. The faster we relegate religion to the dustbin of history the better.
  2. Yep. I think it was when we did a big crawfish boil.
  3. Didn't know what the hell a frat was when I got to UT. Found my way to the Tejas Club which was pretty diverse as far as male organizations go. We used to have coffee talks on Thursday evenings at the house with some pretty impressive guest speakers. McRaven came one time and impressed the hell out of me. Who know that 10 or so years later he'd lead the raid to get Osama. /CSB
  4. I hike once or twice a week. My favorite hike Honolulu side is Wiliwilinui (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/hawaii/oahu/wiliwilinui-ridge-trail?u=i). Amazing views of both sides of the Island. About 2.5 hours roundtrip and easy to moderate difficulty.
  5. What a pathetic cunt.
  6. Super dark and depressing. But really well done.
  7. All the billionaires are doing it!
  8. Yep. Saw him in a play many years ago in Chicago at the Steppenwolf. Pretty surreal experience.
  9. I'd like a massive federal investigation into Trump's historic and intentional mishandling of the virus once he and his people knew about it. If you want a tangential investigation into Fauci's decisions then go for it. The rage you Trumpkin's have against Fauci seems inverse to your absence of rage about Trump and his apologists.
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/03/microsoft-irish-subsidiary-paid-zero-corporate-tax-on-220bn-profit-last-year Other than rage I don't have a particularly point to make. I know the Fed chair and Treasury Secretary are working on a world wide minimum corporate tax rate. The lack of patriotism and sense of civic responsibility by American corporations is appalling. Even at a corporate 20% tax rate, this is $60bn in taxes avoided that could do a lot of good in the U.S. I'm curious what the right wing argument in favor of this is.
  11. Saw it yesterday and thought it was pretty good. There were some weak plot points as there always is in these types of thrillers, but not enough to diminish the film. I don't know how to spoiler quote on tapa so I won't list them.
  12. I'll throw in a thousand.
  13. I'm just a simple southern lawyer so I'll ask the dumb question. What's the joke with the ellipses?
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/27/world-aviation-body-to-launch-inquiry-into-belarus-hijacking?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other Russia blocks European flights to Moscow in retaliation. I don't know how this hurts anyone but Russians.
  15. I did Walgreen's Rapid test about 71 hours before my flight home to Hawaii from a trip. It was easy to sign up for the drive through test and I got the results in a few hours. Easy to upload the PDF result to the Hawaii Safe Travels portal. What's nice about the Walgreens rapid test is you'll know a couple days before your trip if you failed it and can reschedule accordingly.
  16. 5 plus one antibody test. All neg.
  17. When you turn the top of a new bottle of hand soap and it doesn't pop up.
  18. I figure we're all better off if China gets it and can more effectively vaccinate its huge population and share it with other countries as well.
  19. Yep. Had a few pints there.
  20. Drug addiction. Hilarious! You're a soulless piece of shit.
  21. Assuming it's long term capital gain, you'll have to pay taxes on it eventually when you cash out. It wouldn't be surprising if that rate goes up this/next year. So maybe cashing out this year, particularly if you have a good use for the funds, might not be a bad idea.
