  1. The economics may not pencil, but it might be worth checking if you could get the biologic shot in Mexico and make the border drive or take a cheap Monterrey/CDMX flight to get it every two weeks (assuming you're in TX). Perhaps that would result in less downtime for the care you provide your folks than the after-effects of chemo. Just a thought. In any case, best of luck and I'm truly sorry you're having to deal with this. Fuck that disease.
  2. Welcome. Secret gay agenda zoom meetings are Tuesday nights at 11:30 (don't tell anyone!!!).
  3. I need to build a basic but attractive website for my small business. Its purpose is just info about the business and some pretty photos, no online sales or anything complex. I used Wix many years ago and thought it was reasonably easy to use. Are there better options out there?
  4. Idoit.
  5. He took for goddamn long to hit the gas after he got in the car. And you risk your life for a car?
  6. I second the run metal conduit with an outlet on the exterior of the brick. Spray paint it black or something close to the brick color if you'd prefer to camouflage it.
  7. A&M is probably more your speed.
  8. I see you self-hating MAGAts on Grindr all the time with your no-face and "can't host" profile because you don't want your wife to know. Sad.
  9. Not saying you're wrong, but why do you believe Pelosi didn't want Kamala?
  10. I saw the new 4 Runner the other day. Looks like a lego car. Still exponentially more attractive than the CT.
  11. The firm I worked at long ago sued them a lot for underpaying/denying significant property claims. They were worse about doing that in my experience than most larger carriers.
  12. GOP AGs sue to overturn Biden EO making voter registration easier. Obama federal judge hearing case. https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/14/politics/republicans-voting-lawsuit-biden-executive-order/index.html A group of Republican state attorneys general are suing the Biden administration over a federal effort to expand access to voter registration. The lawsuit targets an executive order issued by President Joe Biden in March 2021 that directed the heads of all federal agencies to submit proposals for their respective agencies to promote voter registration and participation through various points of contact with the public. The president issued the order as GOP-led statehouses were pushing voter suppression legislation in the aftermath of the 2020 election. The fresh attack on a three-and-a-half-year-old executive order underscores Republican plans to scrutinize ahead of the November election actions Democrats have taken to make it easier to vote, particularly after the last presidential election, in which efforts to make voting easier during the pandemic became a major flashpoint. The nine Republican attorneys general who filed the lawsuit in federal court argue that Biden exceeded his authority when he issued the directive, which they also say violates the US Constitution and “undermines the voter registration systems set up by the States.”
  13. https://apnews.com/article/abortion-survey-pills-roe-election-2024-7179dda48eae0a764be89c2e0aafd80a US abortion numbers have risen slightly since Roe was overturned, study finds. The number of women getting abortions in the U.S. actually went up in the first three months of 2024 compared with before the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, a report released Wednesday found, reflecting the lengths that Democratic-controlled states went to expand access.
  14. For what it's worth, I donated last week and only got a few spam calls and only one campaign solicitation I unsubscribed from (none since).
  15. His message may have been broadly about the casualness of quitting marriage. But he did specify violent marriages. Nobody put words in his mouth or is disingenuously interpreting his message. Suggesting women (or men) should stay in violent marriages for the sake of the kids strikes me as insane.
  16. I may hit it up for lunch today. Never been.
  17. Are there sugar substitutes that don't cause bad gas and other stomach issues? I'm pre-diabetic and buy sugar free sweets to sate my sweet tooth and some of them do a number on my stomach. Some don't. I need to be better at tracking which particular sweeteners do this.
  18. I'm no expert, but I don't see why you couldn't just sister another board of the same size to the broken joist. There's a ton of how-to youtube videos on doing it. A quick ai google search says to get a board of the same size and run the full span to where it connects to a beam on each end.
  19. Whole families or groups waiting together with their luggage to pick up a single food order at a crowded airport. You only need one person there goddammit!
  20. I was in a somewhat similar boat. I used Twitter pretty intensively for a few years beginning with the 2020 election. Early last year I deleted it along with Reddit and Instagram. I felt a bit naked (no pics) without the constant barrage of the newest news and opining. After a couple of weeks, though, I completely forgot I had ever used Twitter or any of the social media sites (I'll never quit Surly, fight me!). All that negativity and obsessive need to be in the know took a mental/emotional toll on me. I feel much more at ease not having been on social media, particularly Twitter, for the last couple of years. I'm not saying you should the same, but you should definitely do the same.
