  1. Just a heard a bunch of horns honking and people yelling down on the street next to my apartment in Palermo, BA. I guessed Argentina scored.
  2. What a weird forum. Are they not allowed to say fuck? Every other post has "frick" in it. Fucking weird.
  3. Haleiwa Joe's and Maya's Tapas & Wine in Haleiwa are both really good. Haleiwa Joe's has a really nice view of the water and mountains. There are a ton of food trucks in Haleiwa and close to Turtle Bay in Kahuku if you want something more casual. Seven Brother's at the Kahuku food truck park (it's more of a sit down place with outdoor seating) has great burgers. The poolside bar at the Turtle Bay hotel (it's open to the public) has an amazing view of the water and solid food.
  4. Anyone done a longer cycling tour in the Northeast? I'm exploring a two week scenic ride somewhere in the NH, Vermont, Maine area in September camping where I can. I'm looking at different routes here https://cyclingnewengland.wordpress.com/bicycle-touring/.
  5. Didn't see a topic on the city. I went a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a really fun city with good to great food, friendly people, and some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen in an urban setting anywhere in the world. I stayed in the tourist section of the city where Copacabana and Ipanema beaches converge. Despite being winter, the weather was high 70's to low 80's throughout the week and the beaches were packed everyday. I avoided the favelas and never felt unsafe, though I didn't explore the nightlife. The prices for most things were pretty inexpensive by American standards. The highlights for me were a sailboat cruise with spectacular views of the city and lots of beach time. It was a 9 hour overnight flight from Houston, so not too bad a trek to get there. The trip was a last second add-on to my current month long stay in Buenos Aires where I'm working remotely, but I'd definitely recommend Rio as a stand alone trip.
  6. I ain't going down there. Cold as shit right now.
  7. I'm in Buenos Aires and just heard a bunch of yelling on the street beneath my apartment. I forgot the game was going on. /CSB
  8. I mean, the thumb is superfluous when you think about it.
  9. Poor Ravindra.
  10. This is just Waikiki. There's little to no risk of theft on the Windward and North Shore beaches.
  11. What's the significance for the economy?
  12. Dad?
  13. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but why do you think the U.S. probably needs some form of austerity? I'm not being snarky, I'm just curious of that thinking at least in regards to the U.S. economy.
  14. I assume prisons have a detox unit of some kind?

They sure know how to appeal to Colorado voters.
  16. With all due respect, you're a moron. Biden has been one of the best Presidents of all time. If your "both sides" syphilitic mind can't comprehend why, that's on you.
  17. I drove around Ireland in late November, so off season-ish, years ago. I busted every hubcap on the narrow roads and ended up owing 400 euros. I don't know about credit card car primary/secondary insurance coverage, but I'd imagine it's worth the extra 15 euros a day, or whatever it is, for the body damage coverage at least.
  18. Why isn't there a jerk off neg rep emoji?
  19. Anti-queer fascists are always snow flake crying about queer culture being shoved down their throats (tee-hee). Yet they love spreading their crack pot views and talk openly about how their religious views should dictate public policy. Ironic, don't you think.
  20. I have a couple weeks to kill and booked an 11 day trip arriving in Nashville May 20th and returning from Atlanta the 31st. Other than visits to Nashville and a SC beach town years ago, I haven't spent any time in this part of the country, so I'd appreciate any recommendations. I created a basic itinerary below, but my route is very flexible. I enjoy scenic drives, historic sites, and interesting places like the big universities, Augusta golf course, cool museums, etc... I'm for sure driving through the mountains a couple days, the triangle towns, Charleston, and Savannah. I'm big into hiking, but I'm going to save anything more than a couple day hikes for a future visit. I've done Nashville, so it's just a convenient starting point for an evening flight and morning drive to Knoxville which is supposed to be scenic. I put the route from Raleigh to Charleston along the coast as a placeholder, but I don't mind skipping the coast for an inland route if it has scenic or other appeal. I know 11 days isn't much time to see all of these places. But I'm fine with brief stops so that I can cover as much territory as possible and see what's worth a longer future visit. Gracias.
  21. I lived there six months last year. Food on the whole is just ok. I can't think of a can't miss place. They have a surprisingly good brewery scene. The drafts are limited to 5% as next2naus noted, but the cans are usually high octane and can be consumed inside the breweries. Roha Brewing Project near downtown is my favorite for the quality of the beer, though it's smaller and shabbier than some other breweries. For breakfast, my favorite spot was Park Cafe near downtown on the southern end of Liberty Park (a bad ass park btw).
