Aggie rollercoaster. Up up. October ha!
  2. That's why I don't golf. Too violent.
  3. I'm so happy to be gay.
  4. Nice! If you want a quick two-day getaway (or even in one early/late day vist) from Santiago, you can fly to Pucon in the lake region in 1h 20m. It's gorgeous with cool German culture and close to Parque Nacional Villarrica which dominates the backdrop.
  5. Ummm. NTTTIAWWT.
  6. I googled this Napier guy and saw he's paid $7.1 million a year. Then saw his previous experience was the University of Louisiana. The fuck?
  7. I've been running for 20 years now and a month or so ago I started getting consistent knee soreness for the first time in my life. I run 4 or 5 days a week, 5 to 6.5 miles depending on the route. Two months ago I upped my running from 3 days a week to my current 4 to 5. So no doubt the extra running has contributed. I moved to Salt Lake City two months ago and took on some aggressive hikes and did my first half marathon in the first month I was here. The soreness was especially pronounced after those hikes and half marathon and was likely the initial source of the soreness. How do y'all handle knee soreness? I've started to ice my knees a couple times a day. I changed out my low-cushion shoes for some very high-cushion shoes a couple of weeks ago. That seems to have helped. I'm going to avoid hiking as well for a while and I'm debating getting knee sleeves to see if they help.
  8. I was gonna say...but the insight is appreciated.
  9. As a homo, I take offense to any association with the aggies. They would not be allowed to our parties.
  10. Pics of live farm animals?
  11. One of my first cars was a 95 standard Altima that was passed around the siblings. I've never had more fun driving a car. It changed gears like a dream and had great pickup. I'm definitely on Team Refresh if only for sentimental value.
  12. Thanks for the feedback. I went to a walk-in facility and the processor said my passport is fine. It looks 95% normal and I read online that it's still a legally valid passport even if the chip in it was damaged. I hope he's right and I'm not going to stress it. I have an unrelated domestic flight on Thursday and might try to see if I can get a customs person at the airport to swipe it to see if there's any issue with it.
  13. Bump. Similar. I accidentally washed my passport and have a trip to Ireland end of October (10 weeks). I don't know if it's damaged enough to need replacing. But I don't want to show up for my international flight and get rejected. I have an appointment tomorrow at a post office (official passport office). I'm going to pay for expedited plus pay for 2-day shipping. I should be fine, right? Maybe I get lucky and the post office person says my washed passport is fine. It doesn't seem particularly damaged. FAFO.
  14. I read last night it was downed power lines caused by high winds. But that may be outdated info.

  17. Glad it worked out for him. Sounds like the professor is a fucking idiot. It didn't occur to him that he may have the wrong email address? If I don't get an expected response I always double check I had the correct email address. Rage.
  18. csb/Did my first half marathon this morning (SLC, a big Mormon holiday hence the Monday race). 13.1 miles averaging 8:30 a mile. I hurt.
  19. San Antone taco joint this morning. Dude looked at his parking job, appeared satisfied, and proceeded into the restaurant. Bravo good sir!
  20. We played smear the queer when I was a kid too. I completely forgot about that. I feel like faggot was the more common slur when I was growing up and queer was just a strange word that wasn't used much in any context. At least not among my peers.
  21. Totally. I'm a relatively young homo and love the word and use it freely. I honestly didn't know it had been a slur in the past.
  22. Outdoor miles. 3.5 weeks ago.
  23. Not sure where to put this so I'll ask here. I recently moved to Salt Lake City and saw this morning in the news that there's a marathon going on Saturday. I regularly run about 7 miles a day in addition to light weights and walking my dog a few miles a day. So I'm in pretty good cardio shape. I'm intrigued by the route which is a long gradual descent down a mountain. I was thinking I might sign up for the 13.1 mile half marathon race to try something new. Being as it's this Saturday, I've done no training for it. But I wonder, considering how much I run, if that's really necessary or if I'm being naive. For as much as I run, I've never actually gone further than 8 miles. Dumb idea?
  24. I rarely get offended by anything. But I feel protective of those in society who are vulnerable. When I hear someone use cruel language that has historically been used to oppress and demean a vulnerable group, I'm not going to get in their face (assuming they're not actually using it towards someone in that group directly), but I sure as hell will think that person is a piece of shit and think much less of their character. I'm far from perfect and I think people can change and improve, so I try not to shame others or even judge them too harshly in my mind. But I think it's fair and healthy to be offended by certain language and behavior if its motive is to be cruel.
