  1. ^I mentioned Burr as one of my favorites, just did not post any of his stuff, I figured most were familiar enough.

No he didn't. Listen to his stuff before SNL. He was way too young to be that good -- he was the Dwight Gooden of standup.

IOW, he was high AF when performing.

Someone mentioned Larry David up thread. There was a kind of Curb Your Enthusiasm mockumentary on HBO the other day, about when he was pitching it to HBO. The only way I knew about it was my DVR auto recorded it because of the filters I set up. Those of you who have HBO should do a search for it, worth a watch.

Well, shit, I just posted this in a thread the other day. I had no idea that a few days later I would be crying for a different reason.

    RIP you absolute genius.

When you look at the teams ahead of Bama (5, 6, 7 as I think the top 4 were pretty much locked in most of the season) it looks like it came down to SOS -

    #5 Florida - #3 SOS
    #6 Arizona - #2 SOS
    #7 Minnesota - #8 SOS
    #8 Alabama - #25 SOS

I could totally get that, if Bama had not been 6-1 against those three. 5 of which were on the road. If it had been a bit more split, no issue at all, say they went 4-3 instead, losing one to each.

    Edited to add...

    versus top 10

    • Alabama 9-1
    • UCLA 7-2
    • FSU 5-2
    • Okla 4-2
    • Fla 7-8
    • Wash 3-4
    • Ariz 4-9
    • Minn 1-6

    Only if Alabama loses.

Would not count on that. The Bama team is kinda pissed right now. They got seeded behind a team(Florida) they swept in their home stadium and lost 1 game by a 2-1 score(in the tourney final game), another  team they beat on the road OOC(Arizona) and a team they beat in both games played at home(Minnesota). They are playing into the whole #8 thing also, as they were picked preseason to finish 8th in the SEC, while they ended up winning the conference by 4 games. Now that may wear off by the Super but I would not bet on them losing the regional.

Oh I completely agree with that.  He was definitely trying to poison Dany with the help of that girl.   I just meant that it made his treasonous statements to Tyrion and Jon all the more stupid.

That is what they do, take smart characters and make them suddenly stupid.

  7. I don't think the little girl was smuggling the letters out or at least that did not seem to be what she was discussing with Varys. Sounded like he was trying to poison her, since the girl worked in the kitchen and he said we will try again at supper.

  8. This was the very first game I played, post college and post 10 year marriage. I bought a PS1(first console I owned since the Atari 5200) in early 2003 and this came with it. It was also the first RPG video game I played(played some D&D tabletop in college). It hooked me and I ended up playing almost every turn based RPG on the PS1 and the PS2. Played a few action RPGs on consoles and a bunch on PC. Also went back and played a bunch on emulators. So this game is both a treasure and a curse(hundreds upon hundreds of hours wasted?) to me.

  9. ^Yeah, that is DvD at the end. There is another skit, on a later show where Carol gets Tim back for that skit. He ad-libed most of that, which took them completely by surprise. She added a little to the end.

  10. Of course, Carlin, Murphy and Pryor from my youth. Kinison and Steven Wright from my college days. Now Burr and Louis C. K. in my older years. I also like Jeselnik and Jimmy Carr. For one of the best skits ever put on tape...

  11. They just released the latest APR numbers today(below is the Power 5 football numbers). I compiled this using the NCAA listings and RES but r/cfb did not let it be posted. I am posting just the cut/paste from that attempted post, so if it looks ugly, sue me. Already spent over an hour compiling that data from the NCAA site and making tables there, not going to bother trying to re-write it here. If someone else wants to compile the data for the G5 or lower divisions, the raw data can be found here. Below is the data by conference.

  12. I did not read every post made in here and very few in the illiterati thread but just found out something I did not know until now. Chris Stapleton was in Ep 3, as a wildling that got resurrected when the NK did his magic arms. He was one of the ones they showed open the blue eyes.

I think you’re right. And anybody who has ever been in the service industry knows that feeling when you just absolutely hate the absurdly drunk chick who has been a bitch the entire day. Always nice when karma catches up to them.

As a distant observer though, a girl looking like that who really knows how to day drink... mmm, college wheelhouse!

I would not doubt she filed a lawsuit against the restaurant, even though I doubt they have an open drink table dancing policy.

  14. Have not watched yet, somehow my DVR did not save the series recording, so had to reset it for the 10PM showing. My DVR did somehow record a Curb Your Enthusiasm special that I zero idea was coming on. Worth a watch, whenever it replays.

  15. ^Don't think that was her friend. Looked like someone who worked there. She put the chair back under the table and looked like she was reaching for dishes on the table, rather than trying to grab her legs.
