The Greatest Generation raised the Baby Boomers. Sometimes when people work their asses off and sacrifice more than nearly anyone else they overreact and shelter their children from ever having to do the same.

It is also a very real possibility that Jr did a ton of roids to try and live up to his dad. We know he did them, that soldier speech was 100% roid rage, just not sure on why he did them.

  2. CTE is a real thing but it does not need to be an excuse for every piece of shit out there. Plenty of guys likely suffered from it and did not go out to commit murder like Hernandez or rape like this shitbird, if he did it. He has been a piece of garbage since his roided days at Miami. Even if he is not guilty of this, he has a track record to make him look guilty from the start.

And its Karma for Saban's over-recruiting, gray shirts, and the quiet push out the door when recruited over.  He is upset for real this time as we have seen how he treats his potential transfers with any ounce of talent

Karma, as in he will not win any more titles? I think he has won plenty. About 5 players transfer every season from Bama, only about 1 in 10 goes on to any noticable PT elsewhere. As for Smith, a few years ago, to UGA and Kennedy this season, to the Vols, that was a SEC rule that grads could not transfer to an upcoming opponent without sitting out a year. That rule just got rescinded at the SEC meetings and Kennedy was immediately released.

It sounds to me like you are all for what's fair for the players, unless it hurts the level of competition.  Even if your conclusion is true (that it would hurt the competition), I don't agree with your priorities.

I did not say unless it hurts the level of competition, just pointing out that it likely will, just so people know the end results.

Some of you want to hold the players more accountable than the assholes who are legally being paid. Legally being paid to exploit amateur athletes.

I hope you are not including my comments in that. I am all for making everything fair for the players. I am just not sure this is going to help any schools except those already in power. Sure, an Auburn or a Tennessee might get some help from a Bama transfer but they are already one of those programs that are in the top 25 all time. It will hurt the smaller schools or ones with no real history of success. Say Vandy somehow gets a great LT but the rest of the team sucks ass. Bama loses it's third string RB to AU, Bama picks up a possible future NFL LT from Vandy  to fill that roster spot, that can block for RB1 and RB 2 for Bama. AU moves up a single notch, Bama moves up a notch and a half, Vandy drops another notch.

Yeah, that may be some coaches fear but are they going to sign a player each year from every school they play?
I mentioned above, even though Saban spoke against it, he will likely benefit from it more than most. You have a school with a great LT and the rest of the team is shit, well why not transfer to Bama, if they need help at that one position and win yourself a ring.

We talk about the aggy rollercoaster all the time, but when this little fun ride thing ends for Bama, (and it will eventually) it's going to be epic beyond belief..

I have been on that ride before, so used to it, just glad for the peak times now. One major difference in the aggy lollercoaster and Bama, they have never seen the end of the ride, they have always crashed. Probably used Aggy engineers to build their ride.

FTR, I am not saying what I said out of some form of braggadocio, I just think this will benefit the bigger programs more than the little guys.

Thinking about playbook, signals, tendencies, etc. more than the guy playing, but probably overrated and you could hire a GA to get the same "advantage".

  8. Well, shit. I did not watch a ton of his stuff but from what I saw, he seemed to be a badass. Shame he could not bring himself to seek help. We, as men, are taught not to show weakness. RIP carnivore.

I think the an important difference between the copy of Delos and Bernard was that Arnold died before Ford started to re-create him.  He didn't have the human to copy or transfer like he did with Delos, so he had to use his own memories and Delores' to reverse engineer Bernard.  Delos was as exact of a copy as possible who broke every time he realized he was a copy.  Bernard doesn't appear to have that problem since he wasn't made the same way.

Yeah, that is what I got from it. If you make it too much like the original human, from their actual memories, it rebels against it's programming. If you take a blank slate and write it's code from others memories of a person, it is fine. An exercise in how one sees themselves vs how others see them.

Also, the actual hosts, they kept getting their programming changed for different scenarios, which is why they became somewhat self aware. Bernard was not killed over and over and reprogrammed with an entirely different background.

Definitely don't know how this show flew so far under the radar.  After thinking about it now that it's finished, it's probably #4 on my list (after The Wire, Breaking Bad and Sopranos).

I would probably put it one notch lower, behind Justified. That is just for the drama shows.

Cheers is my number one TV show of all time.

  11. My bike looked a lot like this...

Don't think that was the exact bike but it was a Diamondback, had the pads on the bars and was blue.

In my teens, got a 10 speed Specialized road bike. My brother was a pro rider back then. He got it for me, for dirt cheap, through his sponsors.

We were not rich, not poor either but I benefited greatly from having older brothers who were computer engineers, electronic engineers, pro cyclist and a sponsored distance runner(got the very first pair of Air Max before they hit the market, pic below of what they looked like back in '87).

How many of the following have you seen in its entirety:

    Game of Thrones- Yes

    Mad Men- No

    Lost- No

     The Wire- Yes

    Community- Yes

    Parks n Rec- Yes

    Bob’s Burgers- Some

    The Office- Yes

    VEEP- Yes

    Always Sunny- Yes

^^^ I’d recommend bingeing one or more of those shows.

Answers provided above. Mad Men and Lost never seemed to appeal to me. Figured I would eventually get around to giving them a shot, maybe.
