Tough to watch 1st off. This team does not look well-coached overall. 3 unsportsmanlike penalties in the 1st half, and a delay of game of the 1st effing offensive play of the season. Wow. I'm not sure what we are trying to do on offense? If you are going to repeatedly run Zone Read, then your "running" QB has to keep the ball and run with it occasionally. His passing on basic throws is downright bad. If his strength is his ability to run, then use that, or play a different QB.
Oline is still suspect. Maybe marginally better. Tackles getting man-handled all game.
Our senior DB's (Boyd & Davis) were terrible in the 1st half. Boyd has to make that INT. Both had bad PI calls against them in the game. Brandon Jones played like a stud all around. Should have a great season.
Malcolm Roach is playing out of position at LB. Watch the 1st TD of the game. He simply cannot cover enough ground.
There is not much of a pass rush outside of Hager. Other guys are just bodies that can't make plays. I do have some hope that Orlando can turn things around defensively, like he did last season.
Offensively, it just does not make any sense. Herman and company are clueless. Why Ingram didn't play more is baffling. He and Watson should get all the carries. Why they went away from the tempo that worked well in the 2nd Q is baffling as well. Had Maryland on their heels that drive. I do not have much faith that this offensive staff can turn things around. There is no identity.
These next few weeks are big for our cocky for no good reason Head Coach.
