  1. The problem is that he would insist we make his son HCIW. Unfortunately, in the Wizarding World Snyder's son is considered a Squib.
  2. Yeah, I think the bigger issue is that they didn't realize the risk that Baylor should get punished at some point. Hookfin could be playing for a team with 65 scholarships and no chance for a bowl game if the NCAA actually does the right thing. (We all know the NCAA won't do the right thing, but the Hookfins have to weigh the risk over a few promised freshman snaps.)
  3. I am going with Mehringer and Warehime not getting their contracts renewed. Though I could see them landing other jobs first to spare them the ignominy of being let go. Drayton will get a soft landing in the NFL.
  4. Didn't say the site has to stop talking about RB. Obviously, we have to hope we find a rare diamond in the rough. Just pointing out that there seems to be some hubris on this staff just as CTJ suggests.
  5. The problem isn't the fact we recruited Cain and Sanders. If we keep going all in on low-odds players and don't have high upside back ups, I am not sure how think things are going to go as planned. This staff seemed to be on the ball with the second tier guys except at RB. I know last year we really only planned on taking one, but I bet the coaches wish they had Eno Benjamin or Squirrel Williams now rather than thinking all was well with Kyle Porter, Tristan Houston and Toneil Carter.
  6. The problem is that there are probably 50 guys around the country that are better than him and already signed because we went all in on Sanders and Cain. Our late forays with Williams (SEC territory and grade issues, holla) and Stevenson obviously were several steps higher than where we should have stopped. I am not a huge fan of Glass, but the fact that we stopped talking to him and the fact we are now reaching out to guys with no P5 offers probably is a good sign that Drayton and the rest of the staff really only kept tabs on about 5 RBs, knowing we needed 2. Not really Mensa level work there.
  7. Well, that's what I would have expected...Seems shockingly shortsighted. Most of our OOS offers weren't really serious, so to not offer any OL in CA even with long odds is weird.
  8. Probably didn't get a promised starting job at the school(s) he wanted.
  9. Perhaps the one downside to getting Herb Hand was that the guy probably hasn't recruited west of the Mississippi since he was at Tulsa. For all the good we did out west, we didn't offer one OL or RB (outside of the JUCO) in California or Arizona.
  10. I am going to assume that our bacon was saved by fans Tweeting a recruit...no one will shake my belief that is what occurred.
  11. I know he hasn't signed yet, but Sheppard supposedly ran a 4.3 40 at 395 pounds.
  12. The problem is that all your film shows you scoring quickly, with few of the sustained, satisfying scoring drives that Taylor is looking for in a husband.
  13. fify...I mean there is no way he didn't pick aggy, right?
  14. Negged for no Gotch Yarbrough.
  15. Yeah. For all the talk about him being a great guy, that quote is a big turn off. As I would for any player who isn't at Texas, I hope he gets his degree and sucks at football. The last part goes doubly for choosing the child rape enablers.
  16. Top 15 classes every year...that shit doesn't require any approach. Strong managed that.
  17. Yeah, I think immediate problems can potentially be solved by grad transfers, but it is much more of a crap shoot. NSD2 is largely about getting projects, if you did NSD1 correctly. You might hit on a diamond in the rough but it probably also means you get more Mike Williams types or guys you end up recruiting over. OL is probably the best place to bargain hunt as those guys you stock away and misses can be more easily covered by the numbers.
  18. Remember Cain was a Louisiana transplant. The top of this class was filled a lot of weird circumstances.
  19. It looks like Georgia had a back up plan after failing to flip aggy commit Calzada. H2H win Jimbo.
  20. So if there were a college football recruit in Vancouver, would they have to send their letter via elk or a Mountie?
  21. That and our RB offers is a disappointing trip down memory lane. The majority of those offers were to kids in SEC territory. No HSer's offered west of Missouri at OL or RB. The only CA player offered at either position was the JUCO RB that OU just got.
  22. And I am going to assume we have non-random guys we have kept in touch with just in case something falls through. I would shocked if Coker and Hookfin were the only guys we were keeping on the back burner with Shepard being one of our only two OL recruits. I am just not going to judge the quality of the guys we do take based on what the recruiting services say.
  23. Yeah, I would be shocked if Calzada is Georgia's fall-back option.
  24. Which is the point of my second sentence. I assume we are going to grab a couple of no-name guys because taking a huge class next year is not going to be feasible. Feldman's article says this is the better path to success.
  25. A 2-man OL class would be tough to swallow. We would need to take like 7 or 8 next year and that becomes hard to juggle. The Feldman article at least gives you some hope that just grabbing some low 3-star or even a 2-star OL is as likely to produce an All-Conference player than the 4- and 5-star guys we are striking out on.
