  1. You just said use the BCS formula one post up...The BCS was 2 parts polls, which are political and subjective, and 1 part computers, which are also potentially political and subjective. It is going to be political and subjective no matter what format you choose. The key is to keep the playoff down to teams of a similar quality. If a Northwestern gets through on occasion, then you the #1 team gets to benefit. If you have 10+ teams then you have several teams getting an easy first round game against Tulsa or Northern Illinois and other teams getting a two-loss Michigan or Washington.
  2. Hamm: Your place gotta pool? Surly: Pool and a toilet. Toilet would be good for you.
  3. I am guessing all these 'new' names are why we passed on giving Kennedy an offer. You had to figure guys with better pedigree would come available.
  4. That is why 8 is the sweet spot. If you go to 10 or more than the G5 will demand those spots and you'll watch a bunch of SEC teams get virtual 1st round byes against the unranked Sunbelt, MAC, and CUSA champs, while we have to play a highly ranked Michigan, Oregon, or some other really good conference runner-up.
  5. If they are going to blow it up then the P5 need split off. ND would have to join a conference to take part. At that point you could talk about going back to smaller regional conferences, though I doubt even that logic would pass muster with the idiots running the show. Bama and Auburn sure as shit aren't signing on to be in a 10-team conference with a bunch of Sunbelt teams and Texas isn't signing on to go back to sharing a conference with Houston and Rice, much less UNT, Texas State, UTSA and UTEP.
  6. The G5 already get $80M+ of the playoff money each season without being a realistic player. Let the FCS have $10M of that to stay off FBS schedules. The reality is that the P5 needs to move to it's own division. The G5 can be the sacrificial lambs like the old FCS for the new P5 division for one game a year.
  7. Slippery slope IMO. Adding one or two games against the P5 doesn't make their schedule any less putrid when deciding on which teams should be playing for a national title. Texas plays 12 P5 teams out of its 13 games and we are likely deemed unworthy if we lose 2, but UCF playing 1 or 2 P5 teams out of 13 games should be taken seriously?
  8. Exactly. This shit ain't hard, which makes it all the more concerning that so many people running our major universities find it so.
  9. Bowl games are meaningless now and most of them have been for almost a generation. Regular season games already don't matter. Texas loses to Maryland or USC and we are close to done for the playoffs, while the SEC and most ACC teams play an FCS and 2 G5s on top of only 8 conference games and they get the chance to get 2 teams in the playoffs. What the fuck is your point?
  10. Anonymity? Trying to keep it under wraps? Probably Sheppard...
  11. If there is a recruiting problem, I am sure CDC hears from the many big time boosters that are addicted to this shit. If 5 of his biggest DFW boosters complain about Herman's poor recruiting in the metroplex, I imagine CDC will ask Herman about it...or CDC could also be addicted to this shit and get pissed that we Giles'ed away another elite DL.
  12. Seems odd, but I hoping that there are bigger fish to fry on the grad transfer hunt. Kennedy offered the chance to get a guy in for Spring Practice, but there might be better quality players who will be available for summer enrollment like Anderson was. Not sure if this is a calculated risk or one where the coaches know of several other likely high-quality grad transfers.
  13. Yeah, yeah, should stuck with regular season. We struggled or didn't even make the postseason over the past several years in large part because we lost our QB and/or some other irreplaceable player in first half of the season. We have talked about aggy being an injury or two away from a sub .500 record for the last several seasons and they always seem to make it to a bowl game largely unscathed. OU has had RB injuries, but their stability has kept them well-stocked, while their QBs run around and make plays and never seemed to even get dinged, never sitting out for any extended time or even seemingly playing gimpy.
  14. Hyperbole, sure...And yet Murray was upright for the entire season. aggy had only one RB and one QB worth a shit and neither one missed any time. It seems like when we can't afford to lose a player, that is exactly who we lose to injury. Donta is probably the last above average guy we had at RB or QB that manage to play at plus level for an entire season. Colt's 2009 season is probably the last time we had a QB do it.
  15. It seems like we are going to need to hit the grad transfer market at RB regardless of who we get in this class. Cain being an EE helps, but we really need an experienced upgrade over Young if possible. I suppose if Ingram actually stays healthy it may all be moot, but we seem to be the only team that regularly loses key position players to injury.
  16. Moorhead also left. But they still managed to get a 1000 yard rusher this season, something we are still struggling to produce consistently.
  17. Someone post the pic of Jimbo's groundless rage and ranting at some nameless fans after a loss. (Too bad there are no recordings of Jimbo's rage, ignorant ranting and aggression when he found out his wife was the personal rollercoaster ride of the FSU AD.)
  18. Stupid sip, if you are going to ignore your kids, it should be to catch the games of HS football recruits for the greater good of Aggieland. #TrustTheGOAT
  19. Hopefully Meh takes Warehime with him and we get Beatty at WR, move Meekins back to TE and get a big time recruiter for DL.
  20. I think he meant HS prospects that are 'uncommitted or they could be bought'.
  21. Plus Hill is a safety and Carter is a corner.
  22. The optimist in me says 25 or more because errybody will want to get on the championship train after we win the conference and make the playoffs. On the downside we will still take 25 or more because we still have too many players that need to be recruited over if we want to win championships.
  23. The ACC would suck. I am not even that interested in having FSU and Clemson on the schedule and that's the best of the lot. The travel would be the worst of 4 other conferences. The Pac would probably only be slightly better on travel than the Big 10 in terms of divisional play, assuming there are 4 from the old Big 12, but the overall travel would be much, much worse in the Pac. At least the majority of the Big 10 teams are in the Central Time Zone. If the money works out staying put is probably the best option, even if it comes with some sort of shared media rights with the Pac. I don't like the SEC and think we probably don't make the move. That said, I would actually take your SEC West as a new Big 12 with Ok State, Tech, TCU, and Kansas.
  24. No move really seems that great. The SEC gets us the best collection of games, but it would hurt to see us tie ourselves to the most corrupt conference. The Big 10 has good academic ties, but we aren't really trading up that much on the games with that division. The ACC and Pac suck.
