  1. Some of it has to do with Herman being coronated by a section of the fanbase leading up to his hiring. The ones who proclaimed his greatness seem to have mostly disappeared or turned coat pretty quickly when things went south. The rest of us felt various levels of ripped off. Add to it the Beck fiasco playing like a remake of Strong's Watson boogaloo and it's hard to shut down the cynicism.
  2. She the funbags lady. Crazy Meemaw is the bag lady that drops the booster cash to the players.
  3. Interesting...that was almost 25 years ago. I wonder if it's move as a go-to chaser is a recent phenomenon. I don't remember it being a ready option when I lived in NYC, but by then I moved away from shots and straight alcohol to beer and wine.
  4. Every chased it with pickle juice? I knew some Russians in grad school who chased their vodka with it. Don't remember much about taste or anything else, I got drunk...but then back in those days I always did.
  5. Or as aggy says, 'missing the jizzjar for a ewe's ass', at least in the Station. It's 'missing the ewe's ass for a jizzjar' in Bryan.
  6. After dinner with EJ you would be close to jumping too...
  7. I think we are waiting until after we hoist our national title trophy to really kick up the recruiting this cycle. If only CDC would have presented Herman with a plaque this summer, we might have reeled in some big fish like Jimbo did.
  8. We fire one of our coaches after the season ends, put Carrington on the road and our DL recruiting issues are solved in hail of 'Shhhh's.
  9. You forgot the tweet after this one... 'Grabbed ass, my dude!'
  10. I don't think we will have a disappointing season and I also don't think one means he won't turn it around either. I do think his system's evals will be paramount if he can't make some decent improvement this season. I just don't think we will be putting together another Top 5 class in the near future if this season is a disappointment. Of course, Dabo, Petersen, and Franklin didn't succeeded by bringing in several Top 5 classes either and none of them have done so regularly (for varying reasons) even after having great seasons.
  11. But you aren't really building a successful team around one year's draft. Most teams should be able to build a starting 22 from mostly early round picks (or trades to get other teams' early rounders) over a 5 year period. Is that the case or is it that the better teams are better at picking players in all rounds, not just getting one can't-miss stud in the lottery and then drafting JAGs? That is where the aggregate is potentially more interesting than focusing just on an few outliers like Brady.
  12. I would rather see the draft positions of starters on all the playoff teams. Scheme might have as much to do with why one player makes All-Pro over another at any given position. Show me how the winning teams stack their starting 22 with early round draft picks and I'll be sold.
  13. But that's 9 wins...Bruh man said to 'get to at least 8 wins'. I just don't see 7 regular season wins and a bowl victory or 8 regular season wins and a bowl loss as generating any recruiting momentum. If anything, I would say Herman's seat would be getting warmer and any coaching changes he may have already planned on (like canning Mehringer, Warehime, and/or Beck) would instead look like desperation moves to save his own bacon.
  14. I think 8 wins would be a horrible look, especially if we also beat OU and USC. Maybe there is some play if it were due to a ridiculous number of injuries down the stretch, but 8 wins will hurt us this year and puts us behind the eight-ball for 2020 as well. Who really sees 1 more win as improvement?
  15. Because he has probably resigned and part of his big payout is to keep his piehole shut while they figure out a way to keep Urbs.
  16. aggy can run out of time, Bonfires and jizz jars, but they will never run out of excuses. #Advantageaggy
  17. I have a two axis view of any Longhorn football season: Expectation and Enthusiasm. The Expectation axis is set high. Longhorn football should be a conference title contender, so 9-10 wins is generally about the bottom of my expectations settings. (Even when we have sucked, we have had years where we 'Shocked the Nation' or won the conference title game as a decided underdog.) Enthusiasm is how excited I am about are chances of meeting or surpassing expectations. This is probably the first time since 2012 that my enthusiasm level matches the expectations.
  18. Or as Zach Smith called them, the Bludgeons and Bleeders divisions.
  19. Well, it is a long way up to the table.
  20. While Zach was working on his own battery charge.
  21. It won't be a failed gig, Meyer will have just run out of aortas.
  22. And my post said nothing about not wanting him to come here or that he sucks. If he goes to OSU or aggy or OU or New Mexico State, basically anywhere but UT, then I have no reason to want to see him succeed in football. If they aren't a Horn, then I hope they suck at football, get their degree, and go on to be a pro in something other than football. If he has a change of heart and comes here then I hope he is a great player and ultimately makes millions in the NFL.
  23. The delay was created due to their need to assuage their embarrassment over reneging on a promise to OU to visit Norman again before committing anywhere. Considering Carter's suspect character, I am surprised they went to such lengths to create and excuse. It's not the first time a recruit cancelled a scheduled visit because they committed elsewhere.
  24. Well, you can only be on one side of the gloryhole at any time. #JustasGodMadeUs
