  1. Dang. And Tennessee fired him for cause so he didn’t get a buyout.
  2. Where is Jeremy Pruitt coaching these days?
  3. According to ChatGPT, which may be missing a few, besides Pace the only other players to win both awards were Leroy Selmon, Ndamukong Suh, and Aaron Donald. Pretty good company.
  4. I haven’t double checked the extra driving times cited, but it will absolutely take more than 30 minutes from getting off the plane in ATL to the time you drive off the rental lot. That is a second journey all in itself at ATL. Love those small airports where you can walk off the plane and straight to the exit where the rental lot is right there. Would also highly recommend staying in Greenville, it’s just a gem of a small southern city with a great downtown area.
  5. I’ve seen this kid play in person several times, including as a high school senior. He’s built like Albert Haynesworth and has some athletic ability, but he just doesn’t seem to have a good motor or technique because he hardly made any plays. He’s in his third year at UNC and was still 2nd team on a terrible defense. I know we need bodies at this position and he’s a big one, but I certainly wouldn’t pay him much because I’m not sure the light is ever coming on for him.
  6. Are you saying Cade is Biff Loman?
  7. This is the epic battle that comes to mind when I visit threads like this
  8. If Texas plays its A game we can beat every team in this field. If we screw around and keep hurting ourselves like we have in many games this season, we can absolutely lose to every team in this field, including Clemson. Odds are favorable that we’ll beat Clemson, but won’t be able to string together 4 games of the kind of execution it will take to run the table. I’m not going to worry about it. #analysis
  9. Looks like Beck and the punter are out for the playoffs. Pyrrhic victory for the Dawgs.
  10. Yes, this was my experience as well. Like a kid showing off their new toy.
  11. The one sitting behind us threw up all over himself in the second quarter. The others around us weren’t so bad. They also think the horns down is the height of wit. Everyone I saw do it (most of their fanbase) had this beaming grin like a seven year old who just learned how to flip someone off.
  12. Hate to give him credit, but the fake punt was the call of the game.
  13. Only thing it was missing was a gratuitous shot against the Aggie yell leader character doing his sad little hand signals.
  14. Yeah, I think that might be what this team needs to pick itself back up after the UGA loss. Would love to be the trendy upset pick.
  15. I have thought we’d lose both of the last two games and I’m not worried at all about Clemson or Klubnik. We’ll make it harder on ourselves than it should be, but I expect to beat them.
  16. Did Sark losing the Alamo Bowl to Washington “enrage” Texas fans? Sure, people were mad in the moment that we lost. Nobody enjoys that. But overall program direction with a new coach are more important and I don’t remember the consensus opinion being “this guy can’t get it done” because of a meaningless bowl game loss.
  17. That may be the best one I’ve seen of these. The self-awareness of the absurdities of the fan bases make it work, and the “It’s the hope that kills you” set up (“Hope” has been a long running character in these for a couple of years) and payoff was great stuff.
  18. I don’t deny there’s a ton of pressure on DeBoer right now, but beating Michigan in a meaningless bowl game isn’t going to buy him any grace with angry Bama fans. I’m not a Michigan fan, but it feels like their fan base, happy off their first NC in 25 years, is giving Moore a mulligan for this season after all the talent they lost and he did beat tOSU. If he doesn’t start to produce with all the NIL support he is getting, the seat will get hot in a couple of years.
  19. It’s like Zeno gets halfway to graduation every year but can never quite get there. What a paradox.
  20. All the good Michigan players as well. It’s going to look like an NFL preseason game.
  21. Is there any chance DJ declares? Seems like he’s got a lot of development still, especially in recognizing shifts and assignments.
  22. Very much agree with this last part. We’ve come a long way from when Sark arrived but if you’re going to beat the elite of the elite programs, you just can’t give so much away. I do think our defense has developed that competitive culture and are a unit on par with anyone. They play with an edge and opponents we play will spend the next week in the ice bath. The offensive line still has a ways to go and HAS to be better against a front like UGA’s, but luckily there aren’t any others on that level.
  23. End of the day, the Texas OL (and associated blockers) once again got dominated by the UGA defensive front. 6 sacks and 1.1 yards per rush is all you need to know. It’s no wonder our red zone production was so pitiful.
  24. I like that result a lot better than two teams losing seeding because they had to play a conference championship game and lost a close result. ND’s arrogance that they don’t need to be in a conference has a price. Otherwise, get rid of these stupid CCG’s and just seed after the regular season.
