  1. Someone needs to tell Wiltfong that a card laid is a card played.
  2. That’s fair, and improvement in our offensive personnel will likely help as well.
  3. Not to derail the thread, but as good of a play caller as Sark is as an OC, I’d rather he give up those duties to someone else on game day while he’s the head coach.
  4. I’m ready to make him the CIA Director and set him loose pitting our enemies against each other.
  5. Best we can hope for in a situation like this and thanks for all you are doing.
  6. I listened to the podcast yesterday, but as I recall, Bobby’s explanation was that Bledsoe’s issues come from his level of competition in high school (2A) and learning to recognize the complexities of college running games (he specifically mentioned trap blocking). I think the edge position in our system may be different that what he was used to as well. It’s not that Bledsoe won’t get there eventually, it’s more of a learning curve issue as I understand his concern.
  7. Bobby seems to think that Burke and Bledsoe both have the pass rushing ability to be quality edges, and can get people on the ground rather than just hurry them. His concern about them is how they will hold up against the run.
  8. They’ve offered him Prima Nocte with her, haven’t they?
  9. That’s good to read. Bobby and Gerry aren’t generally sunshine pumpers, so maybe that fall camp kool-aid is for real this time.
  10. If it’s not over, we’re not getting the kind of class we need. If we get Simmons, a lot of those other dominoes will start falling our way. I’d say if we get Simmons, one of the two CB’s, and Baker, we’re in good shape.
  11. The post-practice livestreams from IT yesterday were like the Meat Market Review. Everyone looks bigger, stronger, faster. The S&C program has really remade these guys’ bodies. Kool-Aid continues to flow.
  12. Gerry said something in one of the livestreams earlier in the week that may be relevant. He was asked whether we had any silent commitments and said that we did, but “that doesn’t mean the player hasn’t told another school he’s coming there as well.” Lots of tea leaves indicating that Simmons did a silent commit on his OV weekend to Texas. Sounds like he’s also probably given LSU some strong indications he’s leaning their way as well. Gonna be a long week.
  13. Kevin Dunn getting back into sports talk?
  14. Our Center that everyone wants to replace is driving a Lambo, but LSU is going to teach the best edge rusher in the country to fish because they can do that better than we can.
  15. Interesting. Simpson was a highly ranked recruit, but came from a 2A school in West Tennessee where he was coached by his dad. Dual threat guy. I guess they think Milroe is a lost cause, but Simpson making the start against us in a prime time game of the week feels a little like Colt McCoy getting the start against Ohio State in 2006. At least Milroe has started a game in that environment before.
  16. All of which appear to be a vast improvement over what the University of Michigan serves its recruits.
  17. I’m not saying they’re right. The post I was responding to was asking what the IT people were saying about this recruitment.
  18. I don’t get the LSU thought of how a sped up timeline favors them. Simmons still has an OV to them for the Florida game this season, so presumably stringing it out would help them. Maybe they just think his UOV last weekend was that good, but on Monday Justin Wells was pointing out the lack of updates on the LSU side was very telling and good for us. IT/Texas ON3 are saying Texas. Nahlin and Gerry have both put in RPM’s for Texas. Nahlin’s was way too high and he’s had to walk it back a bit, but both are still standing by the picks.
  19. I’d recommend the French Quarter Inn, it’s very nice.
  20. Nature hates a vacuum and if we stop speculating on recruits this thread quickly reverts to the Greater Charleston Chamber of Commerce thread.
