  1. He’s wrong about that. Arkansas has won the West at least twice.
  2. I get @Pato del Muerto ‘s point and it’s probably not wrong. But if it’s the case that the boosters are just pot-committed to Jimbo and chasing good money after bad, then yesterday’s result shouldn’t make any difference. That was the worst Bama team since Saban’s first year there, and ATM couldn’t beat them yet again, at home, largely because of coaching malpractice rather than a huge talent discrepancy. If anything, watching that game might make someone think that the right person (cough: Urban Meyer :cough) could take the talent that’s on campus already and get over the hump with it.
  3. Gotta say, that last guy had it right. This was the year to win the west given how bad the rest of that division (and everyone outside UGA) looks. They’ve got some real talent. Hopefully they shot their wad this week and Tennessee jumps all over them in Knoxville next week.
  4. It’s the boosters who will fund the recruiting efforts that Jimbo needed to impress with this game. If going 1-5 against Bama convinces them that he’s the guy, then they are people who have more money than sense.
  5. Not really much of a gamble for Jimbo personally. He loses and they fire him, he still gets about $75 million in buyout money. Why not push all those monopoly money chips into the center of the table?
  6. This thread better Czech itself before it wrecks itself
  7. Such a big weekend for season momentum. I remember two years ago about halfway through the second quarter when it looked like we were going to run OU out of the Cotton Bowl and I had already priced in the Aggies losing to Bama that night. That didn’t work out so well. I like our chances to flip the 2021 script this weekend. The Aggies will still probably end up 8-4 like they did that year, but we are going to leave no doubt to recruits that we have passed them as a program.
  8. I mean, they’re paying Jimbo less than Mel Tucker, so . . . advantage Aggie?
  9. Surprising that Sweat has played 32 more snaps than Murphy. Speaks well to his conditioning even at his massive size.
  10. In 1995 we blew a 21-0 lead and ended up tying against Schellenberger’s mediocre team.
  11. When was the last time we played a veer and shoot offense? OU last year and Arkansas 2021 are coming to mind, but OU didn’t have a QB to run it and our defense was so different in 2021 that I don’t know how much we can apply it to this one, but the results certainly weren’t good. I’m probably missing a couple.
  12. And Oscar Giles with the game-clinching sack. The legend of Hustle Never Sleeps was born.
  13. What’s the stat on the record of QB’s starting their first RRS against those who have previously started one? Feel like that should be a metric in our favor.
  14. Spencer Rattler has gotten the hell beat out of him tonight in Knoxville
  15. How about fumbling punts? Asking for a friend.
  16. Pay that man his E-Cred!
  17. Gerry has said many times that Agbo has the best feet of any of the 2022 o-line class.
  18. Gerry and Bobby seemed to think it was Agbo
  19. That’s some damn good choppin’ right there, I’ll tell you what
  20. Did anyone else play in the Greeks vs. Independents charity football game they would play during Round Up back in the 80’s? Ward was the head coach for the Greeks team for a few years. I just remember him telling our kicker not to roll his sleeves up because he’d “look like Kevin Butler” (kicker for the Bears that played at UGA) and saying from the opposite sideline that Kenny Sims (who was coaching the Independents) should “lay off the coke” when Sims was ranting about a call during the game.
  21. Got to play three years before you’re draft eligible, so he’ll be back next year.
  22. He is possibly a Banks-level talent, but the o-line room that he will be walking into next year will be so much stronger than what Banks entered in 2022 that Baker may not be a day one starter his freshman year.
  23. Love getting a pipeline open from Mater Dei.
  24. Another cornerstone piece for the program. Greg Biggins was saying he is an all-decade type prospect coming out of high school.
