  1. We ran a double reverse on 3rd and 1, had multiple short yardage wildcat plays, and threw a touchdown to a defensive tackle. Now maybe it’s a good idea to give teams something extra to practice for, but we weren’t completely vanilla last night.
  2. I think that’s right. Our play calling early certainly supports that theory. And with our WR’s and QB supposedly being a strength of the team playing against slow MWC DB’s, it’s not a terrible approach on paper. Sure didn’t play out like Sark thought it would, though.
  3. Yeah, lot riding on that “hoped” part. But if it’s an ACL they usually can tell that based on exam and the MRI is just confirmation, so I don’t know if Sark would say that if the trainer was telling him it looked bad.
  4. I think Baxter is expected back next week. Blackwell possibly but maybe the week after. Sark said after the game that he hoped Hutson and Ross were 2-3 week deals, but both getting MRI.
  5. Great night from Brooks. That’s the kind of performance we have been waiting to see from him. Sark probably should have given him 10 more carries in the first half.
  6. Rod Babers brought this up in the postgame last night. This is the blueprint for defending Sark, and you can bet we will see it next week in Waco.
  7. This is my hope, that they learn it doesn’t matter what they did against Alabama if they don’t bring the same intensity and focus week in, week out. Quinn in particular seemed like he half-assed it for a while until he realized he needed to bear down. It also looked like Sark spent a lot of time tinkering on offense rather than running the most effective game plan against what Wyoming’s defense was doing. This is worth highlighting. Rice and Wyoming weren’t world beaters, but they were far from the kind of no-chance tomato cans that appear on SEC schedules to show up and take a check. Both already have wins over Big12 teams.
  8. Lots of young guys in there on D
  9. Like someone flipped a switch between the third and fourth quarters
  10. Better late than never, but this is what we should have been doing to them since the first quarter.
  11. Barron is the destroyer of all screens
  12. I will be so happy when we are out of this rigged league and don’t have to see these damn ref crews anymore.
  13. Would like to see Brooks be a workhorse this game, get about 25 carries.
  14. Crawford really had to work hard to miss knocking that ball down.
  15. So touchy. What’s a game thread without a some catastrophic thinking at the first sign of adversity?
  16. So the Alabama win was like the Notre Dame win to open 2016?
  17. Agreed. U of H is likely to be in the market for a coach at the end of the season so hopefully they scoop him up.
  18. Interesting that he’s being pursued by the national powers but the major in-state schools. Or maybe he just wants a change of scenery so none of them made his top 5.
  19. Burbank airport to LAX? It’s like an hour and 15 minute drive with traffic. I’m now fascinated that there is the demand to support such a commercial flight.
  20. Our rivals think we’re arrogant, but oh Lord, it’s hard to be humble, when you’re perfect in every way.
  21. Milroe would have been a beast in Tom Herman’s power spread offense. He really ought to look for a transfer in the off-season to a school that runs a scheme that suits his skill set.
  22. I’m not ready to shovel dirt on the Alabama program just yet, and they may make a 12 team playoff a few times if he sticks around, but these comments I quoted above track with something I noticed as well on Saturday. Compare his demeanor on the sideline as we made big plays against them, or when they had TD’s wiped out by penalties, or gave us the first down jumping offsides to ice the game, to his reaction just last year when they were having a tough time with Tennessee: I think he knows the end is near for him
