  1. Somebody tell Mike Farrell
  2. One way to attack it may be with our elite WR/TE corps, and see just how good the other team’s run-stuffing 4th and 5th DB’s are in coverage.
  3. I mean, which one? My first Texas home game was a loss to BYU and they absolutely destroyed us in the opener the next year. That was long before Taysom Hill. We owe them an ass-kicking this season.
  4. SIAP but what the hell is going on over at Orangebloods?
  5. I mean, I can see how being a star football player could make for a fun 3 years on campus in Baton Rouge. It’s the rest of your life after football where that appeal all breaks down. Is greater Baton Rouge the place you want to be tied to? Much less the rest of your family?
  6. Someone needs to tell Wiltfong that a card laid is a card played.
  7. That’s fair, and improvement in our offensive personnel will likely help as well.
  8. Not to derail the thread, but as good of a play caller as Sark is as an OC, I’d rather he give up those duties to someone else on game day while he’s the head coach.
  9. I’m ready to make him the CIA Director and set him loose pitting our enemies against each other.
  10. Best we can hope for in a situation like this and thanks for all you are doing.
  11. I listened to the podcast yesterday, but as I recall, Bobby’s explanation was that Bledsoe’s issues come from his level of competition in high school (2A) and learning to recognize the complexities of college running games (he specifically mentioned trap blocking). I think the edge position in our system may be different that what he was used to as well. It’s not that Bledsoe won’t get there eventually, it’s more of a learning curve issue as I understand his concern.
  12. Bobby seems to think that Burke and Bledsoe both have the pass rushing ability to be quality edges, and can get people on the ground rather than just hurry them. His concern about them is how they will hold up against the run.
  13. They’ve offered him Prima Nocte with her, haven’t they?
  14. I always liked the change bank ones
  15. Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown.
  16. That’s good to read. Bobby and Gerry aren’t generally sunshine pumpers, so maybe that fall camp kool-aid is for real this time.
  17. If it’s not over, we’re not getting the kind of class we need. If we get Simmons, a lot of those other dominoes will start falling our way. I’d say if we get Simmons, one of the two CB’s, and Baker, we’re in good shape.
  18. The post-practice livestreams from IT yesterday were like the Meat Market Review. Everyone looks bigger, stronger, faster. The S&C program has really remade these guys’ bodies. Kool-Aid continues to flow.
  19. Gerry said something in one of the livestreams earlier in the week that may be relevant. He was asked whether we had any silent commitments and said that we did, but “that doesn’t mean the player hasn’t told another school he’s coming there as well.” Lots of tea leaves indicating that Simmons did a silent commit on his OV weekend to Texas. Sounds like he’s also probably given LSU some strong indications he’s leaning their way as well. Gonna be a long week.
  20. Kevin Dunn getting back into sports talk?
  21. Our Center that everyone wants to replace is driving a Lambo, but LSU is going to teach the best edge rusher in the country to fish because they can do that better than we can.
  22. Interesting. Simpson was a highly ranked recruit, but came from a 2A school in West Tennessee where he was coached by his dad. Dual threat guy. I guess they think Milroe is a lost cause, but Simpson making the start against us in a prime time game of the week feels a little like Colt McCoy getting the start against Ohio State in 2006. At least Milroe has started a game in that environment before.
