  1. That is one impressively deep pop culture pull. Bravo
  2. There’s a bit of a debate on that. Some people think he is a natural edge, while others think he projects as an EDGE.
  3. Such a huge get. Feels. Nice to be rolling into signing day this stocked and playing with house money for any late additions.
  4. Jordan Matthews, CB from Louisiana that we lost to Tennessee
  5. Are you saying RG3 is Don “No Soul” Simmons?
  6. Guess the in-home went well today
  7. I think Randle is bringing someone to the table that is more than his skills as a TE.
  8. That’s a great idea
  9. DeColdest Crawford is in the Portal, we can make it up there.
  10. These days, it probably was on his phone. Playing it for them but not giving it to them wouldn’t help, because the officers could give affidavits of what they heard to get a SW for the recording. The smart play would have been to clam up, not mention the recording, and then give it to the attorney and let him decide how to handle it, including whether to disclose it at all. By telling the cops he has a recording, he puts them on notice of something they will surely ask for and be able to obtain.
  11. Which is why I raised the question of “why bring up the recording at all?” if you’re not going to turn it over and unsure of whether it will help you. Seems like he gets the worst of both paths now.
  12. To the criminal defense lawyers: Is there any advantage in not turning over the recording of the incident on the spot if you really thought it would exonerate you? Aren’t the cops eventually going to get it any way once you’ve told them it exists? An accused says he has a recording of the incident for which he is charged with crime is surely a basis for a judge to issue a search warrant, isn’t it? If you have concerns about the cops listening to the recording, then you probably shouldn’t say you have one in the first place. Apologies if this has already been covered.
  13. I am too, and find it very encouraging.
  14. I had that same thought, possibly due to all the chatter about him as a DC candidate for us. I don’t know enough about him to say whether he’s ready, but they may look at the Marcus Freeman model of promoting from within with a young and promising coordinator.
  15. Tennessee had him for about 12 hours when their AD went rogue and took a booster’s jet to LA to meet with Leach after the Schiano hire caused a fan revolt and he spent the week getting turned down by Gundy, Brohm, and Doeren. He negotiated informal terms with Leach and had an agreement, then got called back to Knoxville by the school chancellor, who promptly fired him. Phillip Fulmer got installed as the interim AD and hired Jeremy Pruitt. Would have loved to see what Leach could have done there.
  16. Wonder were Miss. State looks to replace Leach? (RIP)
  17. I kind of like him too. He generally means well and just tries too hard sometimes with his commentary, which is driven by the incentive structure to stand out in that profession. His line after Roschon hurdled the defender on the way to the end zone in the Baylor game as a “Johnson on Johnson crime” was a good one.
  18. Gerry said in the live cast today that Sark is going in-home with Niblett on Wednesday and if that visit happens, he likes our chances but there is a real chance Niblett could flip before then.
  19. This is the Terry Schiavo scenario. So sad.
  20. They said Kirby Smart went in home with Mitchell last week, in case anyone still has any doubts about what kind of player Mitchell is expected to be.
  21. Not his fault, but JSN’s ROI for this year is by far the worst on that list.
  22. The development pitch to Hill is a layup at this point. Come play for a coach that just produced two all-conference LB’s out of a converted safety and a 3-star, or go play for a coach whose entire position room is running from him like he has Ebola.
