  1. That’s fair, and it’s why I’m really interested in seeing how our offense performs this week against the best defense left on our schedule.
  2. Paul Wadlington said we were 5/5 on conversions running the ball at 3 and 6 or less against OU. I thought we had looked a little better getting a push against WVU and it really paid off against OU. Hoping for continued improvement with ISU.
  3. Regarding Banks, I’d also throw in that at Texas he is being coached by Kyle Flood, a guy with a proven track record of putting guys in the NFL. That narrows down his options if he looks around as well. He doesn’t want to end up under the tutelage of a Herb Hand type somewhere else.
  4. It’s pretty much the same thing. Saban arrived in 2007 and they haven’t beaten Bama since. It was also the last year that Tennessee won 10 games in a season.
  5. Real interested to see how this game goes. I’m confident we win, but I’m expecting a hard slog of it and looking at a 24-10 or 27-13 type game where I don’t feel comfortable until the very end. This ISU defense looks legit, but if we can put up a lot of points on it, I will start drinking the kool-aid and thinking about the Big 12 title game.
  6. Ah the Denial Phase, I remember those innocent times well.
  7. God bless them for making all the money they can, but these things are so incredibly bad. I’m enjoying imagining NIL from days of old: Eric Metcalf for GM Steakhouse, Ken Hackemack for Player’s, Peter Gardere for Pancho’s, Stanley “The Sherriff” Richard for Texadelphia, etc.
  8. Auburn is Alabama’s aggy, while Tennessee used to be more like OU is to us. This used to be the premier rivalry in the South when the SEC wasn’t nearly as good top to bottom as it is now. Bear Bryant used to say he never knew how good a team he had until he played Tennessee. The series record was 43-38-7 before Saban arrived.
  9. Tennessee’s secondary is the worst unit on their team, so Bryce Young’s health may be the biggest single factor in deciding this outcome. If they have to run Milroe out there again, Alabama is in serious trouble.
  10. Definitely need off the ball LB or two. EDGE would be nice, but everyone wants one of those so good luck getting an impact one. Definitely need a mature, 320 lb+ DT whose specialty is stopping the run and plugging up the middle of the line.
  11. Those closeups of him were telling. He looked shell-shocked and trying to hold it together. Bryce Young had to give him a hug after the game because he felt so bad for him. And that was at home. If he’s the one taking snaps in Neyland Stadium this week, it’s going to be real bad news for them. Tennessee fans have 15 years of futility and fury bottled up and waiting to explode on Saturday.
  12. Throw Josh Heupel in there as well. 18 months out from inheriting a smoking crater in Knoxville and they are hosting a matchup of undefeated top ten teams next week against Bama with a real shot to win it.
  13. I’m not being critical of the performance at all, but we didn’t attempt or hit any deep balls, and watching on TV it seemed like the times we were setting one up and had time, Quinn didn’t let it fly. Was the OU secondary taking away the deep stuff schematically?
  14. The Old Man may just retire, his empire is crumbling
  15. Roschon doesn’t shy away from contact like Milroe does
  16. Welp. At least we took care of our business today, unlike last year.
  17. In a just world, Young gets hurt in the first quarter instead of Ewers and we win that game by 3 TD’s.
  18. He would have been a good fit in Herman’s offense. Totally not for Sark’s.
  19. I don’t see Bama covering 24 points in this game.
  20. Nessler and Danielson saying Milroe is starting
  21. They don’t run the crap that Lebby did today, but Heupel changed his offensive identity after being fired at OU, and studied what Briles did at Baylor. https://volswire.usatoday.com/2021/01/29/dixie-state-kelly-bills-tennessee-vols-football-head-coach-josh-heupel-offense-concepts-philosophies/
  22. Check out Tennessee. They are the only ones running it well right now.
  23. The Great Steve Ross was on with Bobby on his YouTube show this morning, and said this was the biggest game for the Texas program since the 2009 Championship Game against Bama. Just for what a win would mean for the direction of the program. So happy for Sark and these players. 🤘
