  1. Legal isn’t ICE’s top priority; listen to the judiciary yelling that these deportees aren’t receiving the due process that constitutes legal. Sheeeit suck hasn’t said word one about that. He’s a troll. The WI judge was acting from a well founded belief that she was dealing with a rogue agency.
  2. Photo of Wisconsin judge’s perp walk. Notice the cuffs behnd her back. The message is not in the details. The message is do not interfere with the gestapo, who are not beholden to the law.
  3. https://www.google.com/search?q=lawrence+welk+one+toke+over+ther+line&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:30ffd157,vid:t8tdmaEhMHE,st:0 Damn. This didn’t embed. A couple sings One Toke over the Line on LW, without a clue what the song references.
  4. My work around is to copy/paste to a text, then recopy and repast to Surly.
  5. I concede the point, though trafficking also belongs n the conversation.
  6. Yeah, no. https://apnews.com/article/immigration-mothers-deported-d8c5c0353c18e9ee0c228ea15e02d759
  7. So, the books of law state that non-uniformed individuals can arrest someone on the street? I know the latest decree, breaking into a person’s home in search of a green card holder, is not on the books. Isn’t the right to defend yourself, and your family, and your home, enshrined in these same books? Of course, I mean absent a warrant. And a judicial warrant at that.
  8. This thread started in February, and it is only eleven pages despite its national importance. There is another thread about a black teen stabbing a white teen and it began this month. It is twice as long, and, as far as I know, there has been no mention of terrorists or gang ties.
  9. My wife texted that a bluegrass band at Old Settlers just played Scarlet Begonias, so this hits close to home.
  10. ICE can enter your home without a warrant, if they suspect you have someone illegal inside. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/04/25/trump-venezuelan-gang-deportations-alien-enemies-act/83253074007/ Gang members, critics, and judges, I hear. All are fair game.
  11. So, apparently, this happened https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/kilmar-abrego-garcia-wife-safe-house-b2738214.html File this under inexcusable cruelty.
  12. Ms Crockett will.be appearing on Kimmel tonight.
  13. Your post is relatable, and the sole contribution I have in response concerns the Sikhs. On paper and in fact, these are admirable folks with some righteous beliefs; I just can’t get past the handholding while conversing.
  14. The Quakers would like a word, amigo. I appreciate Joseph Campbell’s general definition of religion, that all religions are software which, if one follows the protocol specific to any given religion, yield the same result: a personal experience of the divine. I think it difficult to adhere to any one protocol, and maybe OP does, too. I believe that experiencing love for humanity is akin to a personal experience of the divine, so a connection to charitable works tracks.
  15. Via power as the goal or aim? Also, what is a pre-liberal Catholic? I was surprised at the suggestion that any Catholic was on board with project 2025. Their holy book instructs to honor the ruler of the land, and p25 has taken direct aim at our country’s overlord, which was the Constitution.
  16. I’ve a friend from Taiwan (mangos the size of footballs, she claims) who introduced me to her husband, who is from the Guangdong province, where men cook meals equally as often as women. So, we talked food. At one point Fang, my friend, pointed at her husband and said: “He has eaten dog!” Not knowing what else to say, I asked if dog was tasty. “Don’t eat dog,” he said, “once you do, then all dogs bark at you.” Good.
  17. I have started to use the plus quote so I can take a response to the more appropriate thread.
