Started the day yesterday in Katy. On the hotel elevator an Asian looking dude offered that he and his wife were going to see, for the first time, dolphins in the Gulf of America. Said something about wondering if they were different from dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico. I thought he was joking. In the car on the way home my wife mentioned tell tale signs the guy and his wife were ex-military, which I had missed.
Three times on the way back to Austin, folks just decided to merge into my lane with my car in their way. Weird ass day.
Attended a celebration of life at a bible church on Saturday. The pastor obviously did not get the Kirk memo. His sermon focused on how the dead who were favored by God spent their time in Heaven glorifying God, and, he assured us, did not bother checking in with us still on Earth. Now, I wonder how his sermon will change to include Kirk’s beyond the grave exhortations.
